What’s more, the long coast of Lincolnshire is full of lovely sandy beaches, perfect for a family beach day. A particularly popular spot is Skegness’ award-winning beach, which stretches on for miles - its golden sands made even more fun by donkey rides and the Fairy Dell paddling pool. Any nature lovers in the group will simply adore a trip to the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre, which is located right next to the park. Puff your way up the imaginatively-named ‘Steep Hill’, stopping off at the beautiful old pubs and boutique shops as you pass them by. Afterwards, pay a visit to the city’s stunning cathedral and ancient castle. Both sites date back to the Dark Ages and are excellent examples of medieval architecture. Get out into the great outdoors during your stay with a walk or bike ride in the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds. Defined by picturesque rolling hills, enchanting woodland, flower-filled meadows and gently meandering streams, it’s no wonder that this lovely landscape is a Designated Area of Outstanding Beauty. This long-distance footpath begins on the banks of the River Humber and takes in some of the loveliest spots in Lincolnshire.
