What our customers say about their holidays

    • Marion - Verified booking

From the moment we arrived, the view from the quaint road was a sight to behold.

The two properties against the wooded backdrop and luscious green fields. Chickens and fresh eggs daily. Thanks to the hens, for letting us collect their bounty. The welcome pack and sweets was a lovely touch, something for the big & little kids in our group. The property is spacious, inviting whilst homely. Every small detail has been carefully thought out. No fighting over sockets for phones, tablets etc. Layout is extremely well thought out. Heating controlled at the flick of a switch. Fans and wide opening windows and doors, to let the Welsh air in. All bathrooms are large with excellent rainfall showers. I don’t know where to start about the beds, bedding, comfort to sink into. Sunny days, or showers the upstairs bedrooms views are simply beautiful. The patio at the back allowed us to fully take in nature. Whilst the grounds, secret seating, pond created with love and the sound of the steam in the background. The balcony with a large barbecue, heating and seating in two areas, allowed us to unwind and take in the hills over yonder. Those sunrises and sunsets were a sight to behold, We were even treated to a double rainbow, after storm Agnes passed through. We were not able to think of any missing items for cooking, the owners have thought of everything. All weathers taken care of, as the very large hot hub was so inviting with privacy and superb views. Last but by no means least, Vickie & Grant were welcoming, charming and knowledgeable about their properties and the local area. There if we needed them, by no means intrusive. Thanks for a fabulous stay, we will be back to their little peace of heaven. Book you will not be disappointed.

      What can I say.

. WOW!! Just stunning from start to finish. The lodge is pretty much brand new and has everything we needed for our stay. It really felt like home from home. Everything has been really thought through, the owners are incredible, so helpful with any questions and really lovely people. They very kindly included a hamper of goodies and also the huge sweet jar which went down a treat with everyone who stayed with us. The bbq and hot tub area were the star of the show, we couldnt quite believe it could be better then the pictures. We took our daughter who is 1 & it could not have been more baby proof- she adored the chickens and collecting their eggs, and loved all the sheep she could see from the house. Its super safe and in a great location, we did snowdon mountain, chester zoo, even zip world is just under an hour away. Lots of beaches closeby too. Lovely pubs for food and amazing country parks for walks. It was the perfect holiday for our family & friends. Cannot wait to be back at Fron Haul!

The property was absolutely gorgeous with everything you would need on your break and spotlessly clean.

We were treated by the owner who was welcoming and very helpful. There was plenty of space for 6 of us. The high end finish to the property highlighted the thought and effort that went into building it. The hot tub was fabulous, the best I have experienced and was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Great outdoor balcony with the hot tub, barbecue, fridge and plenty of space. A large dining table and chairs allowing you to eat outdoors. The location of the property was great with stunning scenery. We were lucky to have lovely clear days in February, I imagine during the summer months the scenery will be stunning. There is plenty outdoor space with folding doors to give a fab indoor outdoor feel. There is a bedroom downstairs which is great for anyone with mobility issues and the outdoor area is fairly level, despite a decline down to the property. Ruthin is very close and easily accessible. I would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you so much for a fabulous stay.

Overall it was a lovely stay and great location/ surroundings in the hamlet of Gwaenysgor.

Enough space for us both with our two beagles but we were received to have had such good weather so we were able to utilise both indoor and outdoor spaces. Dogs were mostly able to run round the whole plot with a few exceptions where they chose to go under or over some gaps. Inside was lovely but some attention to detail with more hooks and bigger shelves would help alot. Under bench storage was well used. Some small issues regarding a loose bathroom door handle and cleaning of windows would have made it perfect. One issue we had was more options for rubbish, glass and recycling would have helped but we had to just leave glass bottles out next to the single general waste wheelie bin. Overall we would absolutely recommend this location and we'd consider returning in the future. Thanks Jonathan

We had a lovely stay, 2 nights.

Our dog loved it, I'm glad though the other one wasn't occupied as we wouldn't have been so free to let our dog roam at his leisure :) so we were lucky. It's probably our dogs last trip away due to his health problems and age, we did this for him and was perfect. Owner was brilliant, we didn't have toilet roll, not a major issue, my partner rang him (whilst I wasn't aware, we could have just got some!) anyway he was literally here in 5 minutes with the goods and he said it wasn't any trouble at all, lovely bloke too! Shower good, bed good, enough amenities, shower gels etc there too. If giving any constructive ideas is say a few more hooks maybe, bigger shelves, just things to enhance storage, and a little travel kettle in cupboard would be great as it took a bit on the stove :) but no issue.
