What our customers say about their holidays

    • Kirk - Verified booking

Just come back from a weeks stay at Brook Lodge, we had the most beautiful weather which made our stay even more beautiful.

The lodge itself was exceptionally clean especially for a dog friendly property, The bed in the main bedroom is huge and super comfy the only problem we found was due to the size of the bed there was little room to store clothes there is however a hanging rail in the cupboard so could easily be rectified by either bringing your own hangers of there being more at the property. The kitchen was very well equipped, we cooked a few times but also had a couple of take aways and a meal out at The Bunch Of Grapes which was a short 10 minute drive - We would recommend a visit, they are very friendly and the food was perfect. We were welcomed by a lovely welcome pack including bits for our dog which was a lovely touch. You can tell that Louise and Terry welcome feedback because things raised in previous feedback have been improved for example there is now a bell they ring prior to coming in to check the hot tub. We felt very respected by Louise and Terry, we were left to enjoy our holiday without interruption however on the occasions we did bump into them we had chit chat which was nice too, I felt they were great hosts for sure. Finally the garden/grounds are also very well kept, the garden is very safe for dogs, we loved the boarder of wild flowers around the edge of the garden too. On route in and out of the property we enjoyed seeing the birds, sheep, chickens, rabbits and squirrels too. It really was a beautiful lodge in a great location on lovely grounds owned by the nicest of hosts.

We had a very restful holiday in this lovely little lodge.

Both my husband and I had worked through lockdown and were desperate for some peace and quiet and this was definitely the place to go. We were also very lucky with the weather, despite the forecasts, which was a bonus. The lodge was neat and clean and had everything we needed as well as a welcome package, we actually don't think the photos did it justice! The bathrobes in the main bedroom were also a nice touch. We took 2 teenagers and were worried that they would get bored but the wi-fi signal was good and the hot tub well used every day. Our 2 little dogs absolutely loved the garden/field and the fact they could roam around freely. It was fully enclosed unlike other places we've visited that say they're enclosed but actually aren't. The little shop at the top of the lane provided what little bits we needed. We didn't get to try the local pub as when we were thinking of going it was closed for a couple of days - preparing for September opening and distancing. The owners to Brook Lodge were very helpful, checked the hot tub every day and told us of a few nearby walks and local places to visit (I think they were worried that we didn't go out much!) We did visit several of the coastal towns but tended to stick to quieter times of the day, as when the weather was really nice they did get very busy. If we ever needed a place to relax and unwind we would definitely consider booking this place again.

The lodge was lovely and had everything you would need for a wonderful holiday there .

Very clean and well maintained , and the garden is well kept . The hot tub was a welcoming bonus and we all enjoyed spending some time in it , my husband loved it !!! There was a lovely welcome tray on arrival and fresh milk in the fridge . Wern Newydd Farm in Wales is beautiful and really peaceful , and close for exploring other places , New Quay less than half an hour away , Aberystwyth an hour and other lovely places in-between , we went out to somewhere different every day , had some scrummy fish and chips in New Quay at The Lime Crab ,highly recommend ! . The owners of Wern Newydd Farm Terry and Louise are a really lovely couple , very welcoming and friendly , and have lots of knowledge of the area and ideas of places to go if needed . We did a lovely national trust visit while we were there , being members of national trust . I would definitely go back and recommend a holiday there 100 % . Thankyou Terry and Louise for a wonderful holiday ,we all throughly enjoyed ourselves . Xx

Lawrence and Julie are wonderful hosts who made us feel so at home and like family.

They had thought of every little detail without going overboard and were there for anything we needed. The cabin itself is stunning and the location is breathtaking and we quite frankly can’t fault a single thing and didn’t want to go home. The bath outside is so fun and very private, they offer the use of their own gardens as well as being clued up on local walks and amenities. What topped it off is that they are aware just how rural they are and provide you with enough quality produce to give you a good breakfast your first morning there and the welcome basket is so thoughtful and such a treat. Lawrence showed us around and handed us some warm, freshly baked bread and then on our second day, we arrived back from a long hike to find a local Bara Brith cake with a candle in it and a birthday card for my husbands birthday! This place is truly magical and Lawrence and Julie are absolute angels. We will be back as many times as we can.

We had a wonderful stay, the lodge was very clean & comfortable, and the location idyllic.

The garden is such a secluded and peaceful place with the birdsong providing the soundtrack, we decided more than once just to spend the day relaxing there. We loved the hot tub, which got used daily, it's the best we have had at a holiday let, it really helped after a long day in the car. The bed too is worthy of note. Very big and very comfortable. Louise and Terry are great hosts, we got a very warm and friendly welcome with lots of advice on places to visit and where to eat (and get the best ice cream), We didn't see much of them as they obviously respect their guest privacy and only come over to tend the hot tub once a day. We only stayed 1 week, and if we could have done would have happily stayed another, and I hope we get to stay again sometime soon.
