What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lisa - Verified booking

      The property is well presented.

There is a large veranda which is pleasant to sit on. The kitchen is well resourced. There was a small carton of milk, some Welsh cakes and two toilet rolls provided for our arrival. Dogs are welcome on the site. The site has a dog shop and a new doggie shower/ wash facility which is very helpful. One of the local beaches, Cei Bach, is dog friendly and many of the cafes & shops in the area also welcome dogs. There is plenty of parking. The property is set in an old holiday park which is being renovated. Older chalets are being replaced with newer lodges like The Ridgeway. As such, there was extensive building works taking place during our stay. This included a large concrete mixer driving past the lodge to pour concrete onto empty plots, work people digging all day, and gravel being continually moved across the site past the lodge. It was, on occasions, quite noisy. There was an unpleasant smell of sewage for three days. It stopped after the site’s maintenance team spent a day drilling and digging in an area close to the property. The unlimited WiFi was extremely intermittent. There was generally no connection at all after around 4.00pm. We did contact the owners about this. It was frustrating because we needed to be able to work and could not. Other holiday makers we spoke to did not have the same problem. The television also did not initially work. Somehow it was not tuned in. Eventually we did manage to get live tv after retuning the set.

A lovely place which was spotlessly clean (complements to the cleaners), quite spacious with lovely views out to sea, well equipped kitchen and we were even left washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, and dishcloth, thank you, a helpful touch.

Everything worked well and without problem (switches on the wall for cooker ignition and microwave) The Bed was comfortable but a little too soft for our liking, but that's just personal preference, duvet and pillows cosy. New sofas since photo's taken which looked really nice and the decking furniture was very nice to sit out. Plenty of storage space and we particularly liked the bedside drawers in the room we used and the walk in closet too. We did find lots of people passing by as it was an end accommodation and a main holiday weekend, so it wasn't quite as private as places we usually book, but it was still very pleasant none the less. If you like to view a clock please pack one as we did miss seeing a clock face to keep on top of time as there wasn't one. Parking good for one car and the bins were nearby. If like myself you have a walking disability then beach access was quite a walk so we found it easier to drive into New Quay and sit on a bench on the harbour, although this is a little hilly and not always easy walking in places. Call and pre book if you wish to eat out as we found it difficult to get into anywhere for Sunday lunch. Fish and chips lovely on the harbour in New Quay though, and there is a pizza place and shop onsite. A pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others, and somewhere we would return to if we were heading that way again.

Me and my partner recently had the pleasure of staying in this stunning pod, and I must say it was an experience unlike any other.

The pod itself the attention to detail was evident in every aspect. The pod had all the amenties for cooking inside and out. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the panoramic view from the bedroom window was breath taking. Outside the pod was a patio with a hot tub which was lovely for us to relax in after exploring the local area. We enjoyed exploring the local area, we went out to devils bridge water falls just a 5 minute drive from the pod . We also visited aberystwyth which is Just 7 miles drive from the pod. We also visited a lovely pub which is located at the bottom of the hill from the pod called the YFarmers where we enjoyed a lovely meal. Just a short drive we visited the Halfway Inn for Sunday lunch which was superb. Last but not least Tom and Beth you were amazing hosts from the moment we arrived, Tom greeted us and gave us lots information regarding the local area. and the pod . Beth also greeted us later in the afternoon and chatted to me also. Beth also sent me a lovely vase with some flowers to put in the pod and we also had the pleasure of trying her own made bara brith cake .Thank you Tom and Beth for making our stay perfect in everyway. We highly recommend this pod if you are looking for beautiful scenery and relaxation .What a hidden little Gem! We wll be back .Jackie & Dave

Such a dreamy weekend at the sky hut with the sounds of all the animals from geese to donkeys to sheep and all the other farm animals. I normally sleep with earplugs but loved listening to them throughout the night and waking up to the sound of the countryside. When I first booked the sky hut, I thought only of the stars at night but it was also ideal for the daytime. We had lovely weather but with quite a breeze so to be able to sit inside with the roof open was perfect! Although things could have been cleaner, the accommodation was worth the trip. The big negative was the hot tub. There was only one hot tub between the sky hut (2 people), the dragons eye (2 people), 2 families in the glamping pods (7 people) and two cottages (4 people). That was one hot tub between 15 people which is just unsanitary and unappealing - baring in mind there was also another pod not booked this weekend. The system for the hot tub was also a downside as everyone wanted to be in at the same time on an evening as they tended to leave the site throughout the day meaning it was always booked up. Also something to note is that the farm is within the site and of course, the smells carry so if you don't like strong farm smells, it's possible this isn't the stay for you!

We had a lovely, relaxing stay.

The host was very communicative before and throughout. The pod was spotlessly clean. There was a lovely welcome pack with some local goodies that we enjoyed and the hot tub was a particular highlight, with lovely views. We were glad there was only the two of us - if we’d brought our kids, we’d have been tripping over each other. With only a microwave and 2-ring hob, we were a bit limited in what we could cook (although it was December and in better weather we’d have used the BBQ and pizza oven). We could have done with a bit more cutlery etc as it got a bit tedious having to wash everything up repeatedly, but these are only minor quibbles. Overall, we had a lovely time and the 2 of us would happily return.
