What our customers say about their holidays

After trying to find a single floor property in the area to stay with my mum and booking this based on reading other reviews we were a little disappointed with our stay at the lodge.

We found several issues: -The main issue was that there was damp along the wall infront of the wardrobe in the bedroom closest to the shower room which can be seen where the wallpaper is coming away from the wall. The smell from it meant that the window and door had to be left open at night, on the final night my mum ended up moving into the living area during the night as it got too bad for her. -The handle on the door of the shower room is broken so it doesn't fully close, there is a latch to hold the door shut but there is a noticeable gap in the door which isn't good for privacy. -The bedroom doors were also hard to open and close as they seemed to be getting caught on the door frame. -The towel rail took over an hour to heat up and even then parts of it were still only slightly warm so we gave up using it. -We kept finding ants crawling around the kitchen side and dining table, appreciate the location of the lodge means that there will be insects but it seemed like there could be a nest nearby based on how many we found. The other things we noticed were more cosmetic so didn't necessarily affect our stay but there were several noticeable stains on the carpet in the living/dining area and there were a lot of dead insects in the light fittings in the shower room so they could do with being cleaned out. We don't wan't to leave just negative comments, we loved the location of the lodge, the site was quiet and peaceful with alot of wildlife (including a pheasant who came and greeted us by tapping on the patio door) and we enjoyed walks along the river. The owners also quickly solved an issue we had with the carbon monoxide detector beeping by dropping off replacement batteries. It felt like the lodge needed some work done to it to make it match the lovely location and then it will provide the whole package.

What a lovely holiday home you have!

We had been looking forward to it from the day we booked. Everything you can think of for a great stay away from home. It is tastefully furnished, a lot of thought gone into it. Immaculately clean in every room. Ideally situated on the park, lovely to sit out and listen to the river running by whilst whilst watching the squirrels up and down the trees, the rabbits playing and birds flying high above in the sky. Thank you for helping make our stay a memorable one. Will definitely be booking again.

Hallo dear Owner, we like your cottage near by the Riverside very much!

Unfortunately there was no hot water since our second day. Several times we unsuccessfully tried to contact you, directly and per Sykes. It was frustrating. We also missed a lighter for the gas stove and a brush for the toilet. We recommend communication with your guests. Kind regards, Margareta
