What our customers say about their holidays

    • Carole - Verified booking

Valley View is a nice lodge, if a little cluttered.

There didn’t seem to be as much space to move around in the living area as we have had in other lodges at Limefitt. This maybe due to the odd angle of the breakfast bar. It’s also not in as good a position as the other lodges. You feel that you need to have the blinds drawn most of the time as it isn’t too private. My other concern was that it had no DVD player in the living room despite being advertised as having one there. We clarified it with the booking agent when we booked and she confirmed it was advertised as such. We knew the chance of having bad weather over the weekend was high so we had bought DVD’s for the evenings. Sadly the only DVD player was a Playstation in one of the bedrooms. This had a notice on it stating ‘not to be moved’ but there are no available sockets in the living area to plug it in if you did move it. We rang the helpline to ask about the DVD and was told someone would get back to us, we also got a confirming email stating this. Unfortunately no one contacted us so we called the helpline again and was told the DVD player was broken, the person on the helpline also said that judging by the photos it was never in the living area. the person then told us to move the Playstation. We explained there were no available sockets. Just after this call the advert was changed and no longer states that there is a DVD player in the living area. The DVD player may seem like a trivial issue but it was one of the reasons we picked Valley View. We were disappointed with that and the response from the helpline. We were also disappointed that we weren’t told before hand, that it was broken, if that was the case, and the fact the advert was amended after we queried it.

We are a family of 3 who stayed at the Valley View Lodge from 17/10 to 21/10/18 over the October Break.

We only booked this the night before travel and have to say everything regarding the booking was quick, clear, easy & great price too. Louise from Lake District Lodge holidays was very helpful and prompt with her reply to my queries, if only everything was this easy! We will defo be using your company again in the future and will be recommending your company. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The lodge is immaculate with lots of little touches to make your stay more comfortable, TV in 2 bedrooms with DVD players and selection of DVDs, PlayStation in guest bedroom which we only discovered on last day, dishwasher in kitchen, iron & iron board etc and every utensil you would ever need in the kitchen for cooking etc. You can tell the Valley View lodge has been well looked after, it is beautifully decorated and everything is coordinated perfectly in all the rooms plus it is only 2 mins walk from the little pub in the park called the Haybarn Inn, a great wee friendly cosy pub where you can grab a bite to eat, have a few drinks, watch the footy and get cosy by the fire and its very reasonable too! A bit disappointed there was a hot tub and we weren't able to use it due to past guests inconsideration, such a shame when other people spoil it for everyone else but hopefully when we come back in the future the rules may have changed :) Thank you so much for a great stay, we will 10000% be back soon! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Clean & comfortable lodge, great location and very peaceful, What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? go on one of the boats at Windermere, we loved it!

This was my wife & I's second stay at Limefitt and third consecutive year in the Lakes using Park Dean Resorts .

This Lodge was in immaculate condition , excellent location , tucked away at the top of a private cul de sac with glorious views from the decking . The Lodge was very airy and modern with every eventuality catered for . ( The sound quality of the docking station for my I-pod was brilliant ) . Well equipped kitchen ( although we were only there for 3 nights so ate out during the daytime ) and well suited to a medium sized family . Our little Westie , Poppy , settled in straight away and loved the fact that she could stroll around the decking as she pleased . Little things like courtesy lighting in the bathrooms so as not to disturb people and generous stock of DVDs and games if you wanted them . The check in at reception was effortless , site in immaculate condition again . The leather sofa was not the most comfortable ( sliding about like a bar of soap ) but that's just our personal preference , all told a great "find" for us - we'd love to come back again . What did you enjoy most about your stay? The quality of the lodge and it's immaculate condition , great location on the site . What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Visited the Lakes Aqaurium for the first time - very pleasant - better again if you have time & combine it with a steamer trip .

Valley View Lodge - Great Lodge but, needs Improving Limefitt Park is quiet, relaxed and has a nice atmosphere.

. There are walks you can go onto directly from the park and the views of mountain from the park are breath taking. We stayed at Valley View Lodge on the park which we have done for the last 2 years. It is clean inside and generally a good lodge. Constructively, I would say the fridge/freezer needs replacing with perhaps an American fridge freezer with more space as current ones are not working as efficiently and limited for space. It also, needs a new modern smart TV as current one again looks old, slow and needs replacing. Apart from that inside of lodge is lovely. The bedrooms/toilets are fine and general facilities great. The outside seating areas needs a good clean and good lick of paint. We found it a bit messy in all honesty this time. Not swept properly or cleaned properly with bird poo on the chairs etc... Plus, it would be an even better lodge if the jacuzzi was available for guests as it is only reserved for private use because of past trouble but, I would say re-open again as the majority are responsible customers, who would respect this area and value the jacuzzi. Overall, a good experience but, needs an improvement now.

The property is immaculately clean and tidy.

Constructive criticism only, generic constant references to a dishwasher when there isnt one should be removed, little stickers with instructions everywhere particularly referencing the pandemic which is no more should be removed and a personalised info sheet on the property added to a folder or stuck on the door but would be nicer in a folder or laminate on the table. TV - I appreciate the property is in the middle of nowhere but its 2023 you can get booster boxes for broadband to allow visitors access to TV on demand at least, the property is fairly isolated and the weather isnt a certain so it would be much better to be able to access channels at your leisure and not a costly addition. Leave a welcome pack of some kind and people will use it, kitchen foil - this could then be used to protect oven trays, kitchen roll, better rubbish bags , all are necessary but when only staying three nights you dont want to bring a heap of stuff with you and would help the owner keep it clean as people would use it.
