"All round this cottage is lovely. It's very cosy, comfortable and has everything you need. The owners live just next door but is still private enough to feel like your the only people up there and are alway happy to help if you need them. Cleanliness is number one for me and I take my dettol everywhere we go but the cottage was spotless so it was nice that I didn't have clean before relaxing. We normally book hotels but since we had a 10 week old baby, I thought a cottage would suite us better and I'm glad I found this little treasure. The cottage is set in the countryside with lots of lovely walks and a village just down the road that has everything u need from pubs, takeaways and shops. And then further afield is the gorgeous city of Chester and If you like a of shopping, there lots of lovely boutiques and also Cheshire oaks outlet village also not far. If you want good food with lovely views and walks and definitely recommend The Pheasant Inn, Higher Burwardsley which is just up the road from the cottage. We will definitely be booking again in the future, thank you for a lovely stay"

"We found the house to be in a great location and there was lots of space internally. However, some of the rooms smelt of smoke, particularly the games room and middle first floor bedroom and the kitchen surfaces were sticky. The shower rails in the bathrooms were inadequate and the temperature and pressure of the showers themselves fluctuated without altering the temp manually. The fridge freezer, for a house advertised as sleeping 9 people was far too small and the bbq was a joke as it was tiny and didn't appear to have been cleaned at all.The house just seemed a little un-loved which was a shame. There should also be more information regarding neighbours and the fact that the hot tub is on a timer, on the website. We hadn't realised that we would be unable to use it after 9.30pm!I feel that the house was over priced for the level of accommodation offered and for that reason I would not stay again."

"Had a wonderful week at the cottage. Luckily had 6 uninterrupted days of really hot weather and was able to sit out in the garden catching up on some reading. Enjoyed having a glass of Prosecco in the Hot Tub each evening - so peaceful & relaxing. The surrounding countryside is very lush and beautiful and in the field opposite the cottage you can enjoy the company of Ian & Sue’s friendly cows. They currently have 2 cute baby calves and for bunny lovers like me you’ll see them hopping around in the early evening. Ian is a perfect host, very helpful but discreetly unobtrusive. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a home away from home. I’m already booked in again for July! - Jeannie Alsager"

"This is a lovely, quirky cottage. It is very spacious and well equipped, with lovely touches like tea and biscuits left for you. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The hot tub and pool table were a complete hit with my family, as was the peaceful location of the cottage in a lovely village. The let down for me was that the bathrooms were very poor - the showers had no power and the water was lukewarm at best. Trying to get your head under the shower to wash your hair was almost impossible! The taps were dripping, and the sealant round the baths in both bathrooms needed replacing. If these issues were resolved I wouldn't hesitate to return as everything else about the cottage was excellent."

"We stayed here over the Christmas period in order to visit some relatives locally. The house accommodated our large group well as we could split the upstairs and downstairs due to the lounge area on the mezzanine level to give the youngsters their own space. However we did find that the storage provided for clothes was quite limited and there was a distinct lack of mirrors and bins in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The main bedroom upstairs could easily accommodate a dressing table/chest of drawers. Having said that on the plus side the luxury of having so many TV's available was extremely good. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for us to try out the hot tub on this visit."
