"I stayed here in December. Large, spacious rooms with gorgeous views of an adjacent golf course, two living areas, very beautifully decorated and a hot tub! But the best thing about this vacation cottage is the care and thoughtfulness of the owners in providing literally everything you could possibly need or want. Examples: Plastic containers in the kitchen for leftovers, Toiletries in the baths so you don't have to travel with the dreaded liquids on planes, huge fluffy towels, 2 refrigerators, but the best thing was this...... I came with Children. Active young Children. And it Rained. It RAINED. The garage is equipped with safe, age appropriate games and toys that kept my little beasts entertained whilst I sat in relative quiet (with 9 other members of my family) chatting and not once... not ONCE did i hear, "I'm bored". It was amazing. This really is a bit of paradise. I love the decor, I loved the view from the sitting room and I lusted after the fully equipped kitchen. You will love this place. I do, and I plan to return on a yearly basis, kids in tow, mother-in-law, sister in law and the whole crew. All the way from Houston, Texas. PS, I took some great pictures when I toured the abandoned stately home/hotel next door at the golf course... atmospheric! I don't believe there is a way to attach them, but they were cool."

"I so wish that I had read ALL the reviews before I made the booking. The cottage is on a small housing estate, tucked away from the road. Inside the cottage was clean but with very odd furniture throughout. In the bedroom (comfy bed) was housed a harmonium which took up quite a lot of the available space. The living area was cramped with the kitchen, dining table and two chairs and a settee which was extremely uncomfortable (sagging on one side)and one arm chair. The outside space was a joke, the selling point that the garden has been left for the wildlife is nothing but an excuse to leave it to grow wild, it was a jungle. The outside seating provided was disgusting, with a table and chairs under a 'lean to' at the rear dirty and unusable. In the front 'garden' is a pond and a 'The Pond' sign, neither of which are visible because of weeds until you get close. The impression we have is that anything will do, nothing there that would entice us to return. The best part of our holiday (we left after four days) was the road home."

"Wow wow wow!! We are at Auburn Cottage and go home tomorrow. We don't want to ever leave! We are a family of 13 from various parts of the country and we have all met up here for various number of nights. How easy the owners have made it for families to get together with minimum work. Cooking for 13 was easy. The kitchen is a great size and is so well equipped with big pots, wok etc. The bedrooms are beautiful and the beds a dream to sleep on. After 12 hour days for a week working on our son's flat in Newcastle, we are now feeling refreshed. The gardens are extensive and very private. We have practically lived outside this week. The trees are stunning and the birds sing all day long. One of our party studied here for her PhD tomorrow. She was only here for a night and ended staying for 4! She said it was the most chilled out pre exam week she has ever had. There is so much space indoors and outdoors that if you need to get away from everyone, there is somewhere for you. God willing we will be back!!"

"We spent one week of our Scottish summer vacations in this newly set up house and it has everything a family like ours (5 adults, 2 teens and a little girl) requires. A large and well equipped kitchen to feed the hungry plentiful, two (!) living rooms with all the entertainment you need to survive a day of Scotland showing you a cold shoulder, so many bedrooms the kids had problems to choose where to sleep and enough bath rooms for all of us. And all of it nicely and tasteful decorated. Not to mention the hot tub, which gives you all the relaxation you want...and then the estate is set in. If you love golf, this is the perfect place - you literally fall out of the house into the first tee of the neighbouring golf course. And if you want to see some of Scotland’s beauty, it is all within one hour driving distance. just around the corner is Lunan Bay - in my opinion one of the nicest beaches the country has to offer. Or the glens, or Arbroath cliffs, I could go on and on and on."

"Ease of booking online via the website and contact with the owner by telephone to confirm arrival time. Met by the owner and given a tour of the property with explanation for everything. Small welcome pack was a pleasant touch with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. The location is first class for golfers as it is adjacent to The Carnoustie Golf Links Hotel with plenty of beach walks available along the coast line for those who don't.The facilities were excellent with very good wifi and plenty of cupboard space for clubs etc.The lounge was spacious and well furnished and the small veranda afforded a view out to the links. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment for dining in though we found the local delivery service to be very good. We would recommend this property to friends and would return."
