    Haverfordwest Holiday Cottages

Haverfordwest is an ancient town, with all of the modern amenities and facilities you could want for a short break in a beautiful countryside setting. The West Cleddau river runs through the middle of town, with the castle towering above it. With a museum located within its walls, it's well worth a stop to explore its exhibits about the castle (dating to the 12th century!) and the surrounding area.

Haverfordwest was once the second largest port in Wales. Its beautiful riverside setting is perfect for an outdoor drink or a meal while watching the sunset. Attractive for day visitors as the main shopping hub in the area, it’s well connected and a perfect base for exploring the Welsh countryside. Why not book a romantic stone cottage for two, or opt for one of our dog-friendly accommodations if you want to explore with your furry friend.

We have thousands of properties listed throughout the UK, all covered by our best price guarantee. You'll find guest houses, cottages and stately homes all available to rent through Snaptrip. Can't decide? Our friendly customer service team are available to help.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Grant - Verified booking

We were very impressed with Swallow Cottage in terms of facilities, cleanliness and comfort. Warm, welcoming and we were never without. It was perfect to come back to at the end of a long, tiring wet day! The host welcomed us with a generous hospitality tray with snacks as well as drinks. Hand soap, washing liquid and laundry liquid are all provided. The tumble dryer is communal and there's a little extra charge when used, but the communal washing line can be used on dry days. The carpark is along the drive as you come in, so it's a short walk to get to the cottages but a pull-alone wagon is available for you to pile your luggage into. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots/pans and knives that are actually sharp! There were even plastic bowls etc for the kids. The photos of the children's play area on this website don't do it justice - there's a wendy house, pirate ship, a selection of ride-on cars/tractors - all in an area safely gated away from the carpark. Probably suited up to age 5 or 6, but there's a larger climbing frame in the back garden for older ones. There's literally a shed full of toys/games for visitors to borrow, including beach toys and windbreakers. The owner lives onsite and was friendly and quickly available to help when we had questions. The location was ideal as it was only about 30mins drive to beaches and attractions either north or south Pembs, with a Tesco Extra only 5 mins drive away. We liked Tenby (larger choice of ice cream and fish/chip vendors!) And Heatherton world of activities was an excellent alternative to all the beaches. Haverfordwest itself has a castle and museum but currently closed.

Swallow Cottage is a lovely and easy place to spend a holiday. The property is stylish and well furnished with very comfy beds and sofa. The kitchen is great, the shower is nice and powerful and the wifi is good. The upstairs bedroom was perfect for my 8 and 10 year old sons, although I did bang my head once or twice! Having a large garden for the kids to play in was great, and the property has really nicely planted gardens all round which looked fantastic when we visited. The location is excellent, just outside Haverfordwest it manages to be out in the countryside and yet 2 minutes drive from a supermarket. The nearest beach at Broad Haven is only 10 minutes drive away and is really nice, and there are a plethora of other beaches and other attractions all within easy reach - we particularly enjoyed the Wicked Chocolate factory, Blue Lagoon waterpark and crabbing in Dale. All in all Pembrokeshire is a great location for a family holiday, and Swallow Cottage was a great base to enjoy it from.

We found this gorgeous little hidden gem after coming across an advert on tiktok.

It was our first visit to Wales and we will definitely be back. The rooms were immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable, freshly washed sheets and amazing pillows. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub. The photos do not do this place justice, the living room and open plan kitchen are very spacious. Both televisions had Netflix on them so we logged in and caught up on our favourite shows when we were ready for bed. The remains of a beautiful castle are right on the door step and we were a few minutes from the town centre. We spent one day at the beach which is 10 minutes by car then went back again at midnight to watch the meteor shower. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be back.

A delightful homely cottage that feels like you are in a remote rural location with a pretty courtyard at the front and our cottage had a lovely garden with a field of sheep and beautiful views at the back to look at having a G&T sitting outside during the evening. Facing west the sunsets were breathtaking. But; an excellent selection of shops and amenities all within a mile or less. Best of both worlds. Dog friendly Beach 5 minute drive again with a shop , cafe called “Ocean “ selling amazing local ice cream, a pub, chip shop and decent parking., On top of this brilliant welcoming hosts and a sweet dog friendly well equipped cottage what more can you ask for!

We had a beautiful week staying at Swalllow Cottage! The owners live on site and are wonderful. It was lovely to arrive to Welsh cakes, tea, coffee and milk, and the cottage was brilliant. Our 9 year old slept upstairs in the mezzanine whilst our 5 year old loved the single bedroom downstairs. The cottage was clean, had plenty of space and despite being on a site with multiple cottages, felt private and relaxing. Our children loved the access to the swings, slides and sports equipment and the whole area felt safe for them to explore and play. We had a great week staying here and would recommend it to other families of 4!
