    Haverfordwest Holiday Cottages

Haverfordwest is an ancient town, with all of the modern amenities and facilities you could want for a short break in a beautiful countryside setting. The West Cleddau river runs through the middle of town, with the castle towering above it. With a museum located within its walls, it's well worth a stop to explore its exhibits about the castle (dating to the 12th century!) and the surrounding area.

Haverfordwest was once the second largest port in Wales. Its beautiful riverside setting is perfect for an outdoor drink or a meal while watching the sunset. Attractive for day visitors as the main shopping hub in the area, it’s well connected and a perfect base for exploring the Welsh countryside. Why not book a romantic stone cottage for two, or opt for one of our dog-friendly accommodations if you want to explore with your furry friend.

We have thousands of properties listed throughout the UK, all covered by our best price guarantee. You'll find guest houses, cottages and stately homes all available to rent through Snaptrip. Can't decide? Our friendly customer service team are available to help.

What our customers say about their holidays

Our stay at The Old Stable @ New House Farm Cottages was amazing Cheryl and her family were absolutely brilliant.

We stayed for Christmas 23rd to 27th Dec 2018. We chose this cottage for the lovely countryside location and proximity to Haverfordwest where we have friends and family. The location is also brilliant for trips to some of the amazing beaches and of course City of St David. Cheryl contacted us prior to our arrival welcoming us to the forthcoming stay. She advised about arrival times and was so kind to offer to decorate the cottage for Christmas (which we thought was a lovely kind gesture) which was tastefully decorated and made our Christmas that but more special. She offered to help us with anything prior to our arrival and answered a few queries we had about towels and bedding and HDMI connections so that we could bring our NOW TV :-) On arrival we found a selection of gifts for us (including Christmas crackers which we had forgot to bring!!!) and some fresh milk in the fridge which made settling in with so much easier. We were able to bring our dogs which was a HUGE bonus for us. The farm had plenty of space for small walks so that dogs can relieve themselves (whilst kept on a lead at all times as there were other pets around and the proximity to a working farm which is well justified) and the location of the cottage is relation to some great country and coastal walks is amazing. Which of course is why we were here with our dogs to enjoy the walking. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well stocked with everything you needed including little touches like a touch for walking the dogs in the dark! There was a lovely log burning fire with a generous supply of woods and scented kindling. Additionally wood was available for a small charge. The cottage has free view with plenty of channels, but as it was Christmas we wanted to bring our NOW TV and were able to hook up to the Wifi to stream this. The facilities include a laundry which we made use of saving on washing cloths when we got home, again another great benefit was we could hit the ground running on our return. There was also a hose so that we could wash down the dogs after walks. This was an amazing place for us to stay and we look forward to booking this cottage again in 2019.

(This is taken from the review prepared for HomeAway.

Co.uk) The cottage was much more attractive than the photo suggests, being set in a courtyard (with other cottages) with views down the valley to the rear and across the courtyard to a field at the front. We particularly appreciated our welcome, the starter pack of coffee/tea/sugar etc and the vase of tulips which lasted all week! We were also pleasantly surprised that all heating was included in the price. The twin bedroom and lounge were of a good size; the double bedroom smaller but perfectly adequate and all were attractively decorated. There was reasonable storage space for holiday use and the washing facilities next door would be particularly useful for a family. The kitchen and bathroom were modern and well-appointed. There was a little table for sitting out immediately outside the front door, and family tables/benches in the field nearby. It is a little off the beaten track, although we soon got used to that. Otherwise it was well-situated for exploring Pembrokeshire being close to the A40 and the A487. Parking was a little tight - especially since we all appeared to have large cars! Wifi is currently being installed but we received a 4G signal which was fine in the meantime. We were two elderly relatives and the weather was excellent: a family in a week of bad weather might find it a little more restrictive. However, we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back or to recommend it.

My boyfriend and I stayed 6 nights at the old stable cottage.

The cottage was beautiful and so cosy! We arrived and were welcomed by Cheryl who was so friendly and helpful throughout. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped for our stay. Special touch of leaving Welshcakes, tea/coffee/ hot chocolate, fresh milk and even treats for our two dogs who thoroughly enjoyed their stay as much as we did! We did not have to bring towels as they were provided and in the bathroom we were provided with little shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. We made use of the laundry room and loved the supply of games and dvds available to use in our cottage. The location of the cottage was perfect for visiting Tenby, St David’s and taking our dogs for coastal walks. The log burner was perfect in the evening after a long day walking in the cold weather. We were close to a few lovely pubs- I’d recommend ‘pub on the green’ its a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Delicious food and they do a steak Friday for such a good price. Thank you for a relaxing holiday! We hope to book again soon!

Had such a fabulous time staying here.

Cheryl was brilliant, advising on interesting places to visit. The cottage was amazing, The Woodburner made the cottage very cosy. I could not fault this place. watching the birds on the feeder early morning - astounded to see a woodpecker every morning amongst the other visiting birds. Cheryl and her husband were amazing and friendly without being overbearing. Fraggle - the Deerhound such a beautiful animal and so placid. The welcome back was greatly received after a sever hour drive. Teddy, Ava and Peggy also enjoyed their treats. Although, the weather was cold and sometimes raining, we still managed to walk 8 to 12 miles a day. Duck cottage is lovely homely and welcoming place to stay. I will most definitely be visiting again. Ps Teddy is fine - needs a special diet. Lost a lot of weight due to infection.

      This cottage is wonderful!

It has everything you need, very comfortable beds, great shower and lovely relaxing living area. The garden is a huge area in 2 separate parts, one has picnic tables and the other washing lines and goalposts (which don't interfere with each other!). The weather was amazing when we were there and the outdoor space was really welcome. Cheryl and Paul are perfect hosts, anything we needed they responded quickly but you can be as private as you like. There is an outdoor tap in the courtyard which was great for rinsing wetsuits and a shared laundry which also has lots of books, games and dvd's to borrow. The area is quiet country lanes and farmers fields with barely a car in sight. Newgale beach is about 20 minutes away. Thank you Cheryl and Paul, we had a great stay and would love to return!
