Firstly this cottage is not adequate for 6 people, we were cramped with just 4 adults. Access is by a steep and narrow staircase which the less mobile will find a challenge. The rooms are very small and poorly planned, the kitchen is so narrow when one person is washing dishes ( no dishwasher) the person drying has to stand behind and then kitchen cabinets cannot be opened. There is a general lack of space in the kitchen with no wall units supplied for food storage. Kitchen equipment is limited to exactly 6 of each meaning no serving plates if used to eat off. Only 3 white wine glasses, 3 red wine glasses and 6 tumblers. No sparkling wine flutes, short glasses and not even a corkscrew. There are only 4 dining chairs round table and not enough space for more meaning 6 people will need to eat in shifts. The seating is for 4 in each of two rooms so again 6 could not associate in one room at the same time.the arrangement of the seating also means the TVs cannot be watched by all in any sort of comfort. The general furniture was sparse with no curtains or blinds in either lounge. Beds were made up with heavyweight winter duvets and should be replaced with a lighter version for the summer season. The general bathroom sink is no more than a very small hand rinse measuring approx 6 inches by 12 inches and only an inch deep. It is near impossible to comfortably wet shave in this sink, even washing hands is a chore. Both showers were so slow to drain the water was lapping the top of the shower trays. One of our party actually removed the drain cover to clear the waste pipe to be faced with a foul smelling mass of hair and gunge, clearly these showers have never been serviced in the life of the building. In conclusion the property is not suitable for 6, is definitely under equipped and has been ill thought out with the customer in mind. Considering the cost of the property it is extremely poor value and cannot be recommended.

The main thing you need to know when considering whether to stay at this property is, the photos of the view are absolutely real! It really is that good and even better in real life. However, there are lots of other good things - comfy sofa to watch that wonderful changing view, perfectly adequate kitchen and lots of nice touches like a drawer of 'bits you may need but didn't bring with you' like rubber bands, scissors, etc etc. Some board games and cards to play if it's too wet to go outside, including kiddies things, and a few jigsaws. Lots of choice with the tv. There is a bar to hang wet towels and clothes on in a window with a substantial pulley system - so useful to have. The sun streams through the large window and the room can easily get too warm, but there are some good quality heavy curtains that went a long way to help stop that. The steps down to the beach were well made up and no where near as many as I thought there would be from the description. The time we went (late October) the beach didn't actually dry enough to sit on and there were constant little streams running to the sea, so I'd suggest taking wellies for going for walks. I don't know what it is like in the summer months but I didn't want to take off my shoes to paddle through them!

A well presented modern apartment, that had everything we needed, we were on the first floor with 4 adults 2 teens and a baby and had plenty of room to move around. The swimming pool is basic but met the needs of the children who enjoyed it daily splashing around with floats and water balls. The pool was under cover, this made up for the fact our weather wasn’t brilliant, and the use of the sea was limited. The location is good and is a few minutes drive or 15minute walk (it’s a very busy road with no pavements and in parts narrow) to the beach which has a couple of chip shops a small beach shop and smugglers restaurant. There is a small premier shop a few minutes up the road and further down the main road at the local garage a slightly bigger supermarket. There is Access to the campsite behind where you can use the laundrette, shop and pub/cafe also has a play area for the children. We were greeted who was extremely pleasant and helpful and was there to sort any issues (we didn’t have any). Overall this is great accommodation that is a perfect base for exploring the gower.

Issue with the toilet flush on last day of holiday. Managed to contact office before it closed Friday afternoon and soon afterwards received message to say member of maintenance team would be out shortly, no one turned up. However real problem occurred later in evening when elderly resident in flat below had to come up to say water was leaking into her flat. Phoned office and left answer machine message. Eventually found stopcock with aid of neighbour but then had no water for remainder of our stay. Left second answer machine message before we left on Saturday but no response to either. I classed this as an emergency as she had water within her light fittings so it would be good to get a response if the answer machine is monitored. Fortunately for us the problem occurred at the end of our holiday and we managed without water. I must say the elderly neighbour was a delight who at the age of 90 was more concerned for us even offing to make us cups of tea, but we took ourselves off for a breakfast elsewhere.

The whole visit was totally impersonal. We used be able to collect the keys from the office. Then we had an issue with the remotes for the television which did not match the instruction booklet;: instead of phoning our local and formerly very friendly and efficient office just down the road, we got through to Norfolk. The response to our remote control dilemma was not reassuring. (As it was, my husband was able to sort out the remotes, using the one from the bedroom TV). We left early in the week, due to the bad weather and illness. There was no indication about how to leave the flat, so we tidied up as best as we could. We didnot get this information till the day before we should have left. Finally, your black logo on the window of the local office does not make you think of sea, sand and sunshine. Disappointing - we had been coming to this property for a number of years, but will have to think again.
