"Unfortunately my friend and I were extremely disappointed with our break at the lodge. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon on a bitterly cold day. The lodge itself is well equipped and clean. Unfortunately we were unable to control the heating from inside the lodge itself as the owner controlled the heating from his house which was attached to the lodge. On the first night which was extremely cold I went to the owner next door to tell him we had no heating and we were absolutely freezing. Unfortunately there was no answer at the door but strangely enough the heating came on shortly afterwards for a few hours!!The following day the owners approached us as we were leaving and asked if everything was all right. When I told them about the heating the gentleman said it was on 24 hours and we could control it from the lodge. I can assure you this was not true and the control he showed us did not operate at all it was controlled from his own house!!!! Unfortunately because we were so cold we had decided to cut our stay short and come home the following day as I developed an eye problem as well. When we returned to the lodge that day The owner came out with an oil filled radiator and said we could use it if we were still cold. I cannot believe he actually done this as we would never contemplate using a radiator if the central heating was on. He also said he had turned the central heating up.We returned to the lodge at 3.30pm and timed when the heating was going on and off, The heating came on at 8.30pm and went off at 11pm. It came on the following day from 8am until 9am.Fortunately we were coming home on the Thursday anyway as we just couldn't tolerate the cold it was absolutely freezing and the owners were made aware of it on more than one occasion. So unfortunately our wee break turned into an extremely unpleasant experience, we were supposed to stay until the Saturday so it was an extremely expensive outlay for two nights stay. Very very disappointing."

"This is a stunning little cottage very clean and the owners are very nice and very helpful. I am loathed to give any negatives but there are one or two that have to be mentioned. Firstly we have cottage holidays in the UK two or three times over a year and this cottage is expensive for its size in comparison to the cottages we rent in England and Wales at the same time of the season. It is a studio cottage rental but the best has been made out of the space available. The cottage is situated behind the owners house in the back garden and it is not really for anyone that has mobility problems. The chairs give little support and there is no couch due to space availability. On a positive note, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are good although the kitchen has limited work surface areas, but, plenty of utensils if you are cooking your own food. This is a very warm cottage if you venture out in the low season. Good television reception and the Wi Fi is fine This property would be good if you like to play Golf with Turnberry ten minutes away or if you like walking. Nearby historical sites are Culzean Castle and better still if you take photographs is Dunure Castle which is awesome. Then a fairly short drive to Alloway for the Robert Burns experience. There is a grocery store just a short distance away which has almost everything you could want including what I suspect to be the biggest selection of flavoured crisps in the UK, never knew the flavours existed. I like to fish for trout and there are quite a few waters available with just a short drive. All in all we enjoyed the visit, I would not return due to my personal health problems, I simply just need a bit more space and I would not rent a studio accommodation again knowing what I know now. But for all you healthy couples out there, this is a good rental and well worth a visit !!"

"We stayed at the Cottage (anything but) during a more than averagely damp week in October. The cottage is actually the old farmhouse - comfortable, roomy and well equipped (without doubt they have the best library and DVD collection of any accommodation that I've rented - and that's 100+). There's lots of space throughout and as there were only two of us staying, we could really spread ourselves out (a definite advantage on a wet week). The owners were really friendly (and live in the working bit of the farm which is attached). There's a good sized garden (not that we used it much in the rain) with a summer house. Unlike many a place that I've stayed - the kitchen was a really useful working and dining area. It also (for a change) had enough storage space for the stuff we'd brought (accommodation is usually sold as self- contained for self catering and then has no storage space or the available cupboards are full of useless nick nacks, ornaments and clutter). I didn't fill in the section 'local amenities' as the accommodation is on a farm and the peace and quiet is what you go for (there's a pool in Girvan, loads of golf courses within twenty miles and as much noise, bustle, fast food joints and amusement as you want further up the coast in the direction of Ayr). Although its slightly inland, you are quickly through to the coast and although our travelling was somewhat hampered by the poor weather - the cottage - proved to be an excellent base. If you're looking for somewhere welcoming and quiet with a bit of a home from home feeling with everything to hand, this could be the place for you. I would most definitely return."

"WOW. What can I say?The cottage has everything you could possibly want and more.... The lovely thoughtful gifts of wine and eggs on our arrival was a really lovely idea. (Much appreciated)The beds are so comfortable (we didn`t want to get up). The whole cottage is clean and just like home from home.We met the owners and what lovely people they are... Friends for life!Poor cockerel has gone to a new home (not the cooking pot) although the owners have chickens and ducks, which out daughter loved feeding. It`s just so quiet and peaceful, which is what we was looking for.We found lot`s to do, walking on the beach with our dogs, Whiskey Experience Shop, Tea-Room, Lifeboat Centre, Trump Turnberry Golf Course and much more.Taking photographs of the beautiful area and the animals.Yes I didn`t get mobile phone signal but that`s part of being rural and not the fault of the owners.... (that`s your own provider)There is Wi-Fi and Sky TV if you need it.... If your looking for a quiet, get away from it all holiday then this is perfect.... Overlooking the fields with sheep in, ducks and just beautiful hills. We can`t wait to go back..... Thanks guys for welcoming us into your beautiful cottage, we had a fantastic time...."

"We are a family of four including two teenagers and a large dog and we have had a very enjoyable week at Brig of Tig cottage. The cottage is well furnished, clean and comfortable. The 3 bedrooms are all a good size and the bathrooms are good. There is an enclosed garden to the rear which is ideal to let a dog out, and the woodland is literally a few paces away and was perfect for letting our dog run about. The kitchen is well equipped. There are some nice touches which elevate this cottage from other rentals such as waffle robes and slippers in the ground floor master bedroom, dog beds and food bowls are provided, kitchen basics are provided (washing up things etc), and the welcome pack was appreciated. There isn't alot to do in the immediate vicinity but if you're prepared to drive you'll be spoilt for choice. However the rural location is very peaceful and relaxing and exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed trips to Culzean Castle, Galloway Forest Park (twice - it's huge), Wigtown Agricultural Show and Portpatrick. We would definitely return for another visit, thank you Jan & Andy."
