"We had a great holiday. We enjoyed walks from the cottage within the grounds, found a shady stream with a rope swing. Short drive to carisbrooke castle, colwell bay (sandy beach, great for going in the sea) and mottistone. We booked a Tesco delivery for our arrival and then did little shops at Lidl. There's a family sized fridge freezer so you can do a weeks shop. We went to a lifeboat launch at Bembridge, and cycled the red squirrel trail from shanklin. We ate at Pavarotti's in shanklin, highly recommend, and went to the chine in the evening. We also went to godshill model village. We had glorious weather which always helps, but there was lots to do, could have happily filled 2 weeks! The children loved being at calbourne mill, we went every morning before they open at 10 to feed the birds and have a pedalo. Youngest child loved the lego table. The lodge is very comfortable, bigger than I expected from the photos. It was lovely and clean and the beds comfortable. The big windows upstairs stopped it getting stuffy or too hot. We didn't get pestered by the birds at all, the children loved seeing them walk about. We ate all our meals on the veranda and didn't use the dining room at all but it was very spacious. Thank you for a lovely holiday."

"We enjoyed Mackenzie Apartment. It is in a good location for accessing restaurants and sightseeing. The apartment was well equipped with kitchen utensils and basic necessities. It was very nice to have a container of milk in the fridge and a package of cookies waiting for us. I do have a few recommendations though. The bathtub was very luxurious, but we could not avoid spraying water around a bit while bathing. Possibly providing a moveable shower curtain would help. Also, the wooden blinds were broken, which significantly reduced our privacy. We were able to cover them with a blanket for the short term. We notified the property management team when we checked out, and they were aware of the broken blinds, and were in the process of getting them repaired. The flat is on the 2nd floor, which makes carrying up luggage a bit challenging and there isn't any parking provided. We had to park at the nearest carpark at an additional 9 pounds per day. Also, the lounge/kitchen area was a bit overcrowded with unnecessary antique furniture and too many bar stools for such a compact area."

"A lovely extended cottage with excellent amenities and stunning views. Keys easy to collect on arrival and a visit from someone to see that we had settled in ok. A lot of thought has been put into helpful details in the bedrooms like tissues, a clock, a small torch. The en suite shower room is very compact and somewhere to put all your damp towels if the house was full would be a challenge. The family bathroom is huge. Be careful on the stairs and landing. There was a peg bag and laundry basket but I never found a line or rotary to use. More instructions on how to use the utilities would have been nice as well. Found out by trial and error. Stunning views from nearly every aspect. 21 steps minimum to the summer house and a few shallow flags to the garden. Big space. Lots to do in the area. Good local Spa and garage and easy access to Scarborough and surrounds and an hour from York. Lounge sofas are very low so hope you are fit! Free wifi."

"The cottage is part of a group of self catering units and a small caravan site and is situated opposite Reception and a caravan storage area. As the warning notice says, this is a busy area. The house was clean, well equipped and warm despite winter hanging on. There was plenty of cutlery and crockery and a well equipped kitchen. The games room and swimming pool were useful assets in a week of mixed weather. These were never crowded. In Cayton there is an excellent traditional takeaway chip shop but the local pub no longer serves food. The nearest pub which does is opposite a huge caravan site at Cayton Bay and was always crowded and noisy and perhaps not suitable for children. Towards Seamer there is a huge Morrisons, a MacDonalds and an eat in / takeout chips chop. The area further afield is full of interest but beware of constant traffic in Scarborough if you want to travel in the Whitby direction detour west around the town."

"Lovely cottage in a nice location. Nice views and very quiet down a long good quality track (concrete road more than track). Tasty cream tea was waiting for us on arrival which is a nice touch! Cottage had everything you need but could do with maybe having a few kitchen extras such as foil and cling film available.Only negatives would be: - mattress in double bed was seriously uncomfortable as you could feel each and every spring - water tank in loft was constantly gurgling and bubbling away for some reason (shared between the cottages?). Not a problem for us as we only used the other 2 bedrooms but the second twin room had the tank immediately above it and it would probably have been too noisy for any of us to have slept in that room as a consequence Having said that, we would still definitely return as we had a great and relaxing week in North Devon"
