What our customers say about their holidays

    • Helen - Verified booking

      Little Pippin was simply perfect.

Immaculate inside and out, spotlessly clean, and with a luxurious design, I can honestly say I have never holidayed anywhere as wonderful as this. I've stayed in many self catering holiday apartments/chalets/lodges, but Little Pippin is head and shoulders above any of them. Things I loved : ALL of it !!! But specifically, the warm and genuine welcome from the owners and Reggie the dog; the glorious peaceful and light filled bedroom with its delicious linens and decadent bathroom; the well equipped and practical open plan kitchen and lounge; the access to the garden for a peaceful sunny read with a cuppa or a glass of vino - and the designated parking space right outside the front door. I'll say it again - perfect ! Ideally located for some lovely walks to Charlestown - which is stunning - and Carylon Bay and on to Par, both of which have glorious beaches just perfect for beach combing. The Eden Project is just up the road, and whilst pricey, is worth a visit just to marvel over the sheer audacity of what has been achieved. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is 20 minutes away by car and is a definite must see - a great way to spend a day. And Lanhydrock National Trust is also beautiful. And the return to Little Pippin after a day out was the icing on the cake ! Thankyou for a wonderful stay - I will be back !

It was a lovely cottage, well furnished, smart and homely, very clean, tidy and pleasant.

We enjoyed the overall experience and the hosts were excellent. We were greeted with 2 fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, greatly enjoyed. We only had a couple of minor issues, we discovered early on that a frequently used country road backs directly onto the house and therefore traffic noise was often. Being a snorer I slept in the single bed in the side room while my partner stayed in the double bed. She found the double too soft while I found the single too hard, however I don't class this as a complaint because everybody has there own preference. The other very minor point was in the single bed room there was no bedside cabinet so I just temporarily moved one of the two beside the double bed and returned it to its original place on leaving. We found the kitchen good and with everything you needed for a stay, the dining/lounge/TV area was great and the sofa particularly comfortable. Heating was all you needed, the shower was great as was the wash basin in the nicely decorated bathroom. Perhaps a small consideration would be blackout material on the stairwell curtains and single room. The overall decor was really lovely and made staying feel like home from home. And the surrounding countryside was refreshing too.

Little Pippin is a granny annexe attached to the owner's main home in Carlyon.

It is a short walk into Charlestown and was ideally situated for travel to Mevagissey, Fowey and Truro area. We thought the property was beautifully appointed, very modern and had all the equipment we required. The owner was even kind enough to leave us a pint of milk so we could have a drink after our very long journey. Do remember to bring your own dishwasher tablets and soap powder as these are not provided but otherwise there is plenty of cleaning equipment. I would suggest a couple of improvements such as a bedside table and lamp for each person and the double bed could be swapped for a king size for more comfort. We found ourselves getting rather hot as we were squeezed together. Although the property is advertised as not dog-friendly it is important to note that the owner's rather noisy dogs do share your patio area.

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Pippin.

The house itself was extremely clean and modern. Its location was perfect for our daily adventures, we could easily and quickly visit hop in the car and travel to any of the nearby towns. The only thing we thought could be improved was the WiFi signal. It was usually strong downstairs but we found it inconsistent upstairs. Other than this minor inconvenience we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future / recommend Little Pippin to our friends.

    • Roslyn - Verified booking

Little Pippin is situated at the bottom of a very quiet lane and is tastefully appointed.

The owners, who live next door, are unintrusive but very helpful should you need them. The accessable garden is lovely and the holiday cottage is a spotlessly clean, comfortable and modern. There is a train line that runs close to the property but the trains which pass a few times an hour, move quickly and were not a problem. There are many beautiful small towns and great cliff walks close by as well as large supermarkets. We will definitely return.
