What our customers say about their holidays

    • Steve - Verified booking

The apartment was very nicely presented being attractive, clean and comfortable with all of it's fixtures and fittings in excellent condition.

All services worked and the appliances were faultless. Parking was provided directly outside the rear entrance. The keys were left in a keysafe on the outside wall of the building. The keys themselves were a problem because four keys were provided, each had its own keyring with an identification tab and divider and were all clipped together making them bulky and the identification and use of an individual key difficult. Because the keys were bulky they were awkward and uncomfortable to carry in a pocket, I would suggest that the individual keys are given a colour coded cap and are attached in order of use onto the same keyring to make them more useable. Access to the apartment was via three flights of stairs which I believe would have been a severe problem for anyone with mobility issues. The heating system easily kept the apartment at at a comfortable temperature however it did seem to be programmed to be active 24 hours a day, we opted to turn the boiler off late evening to stop it firing in the night and then turned it back on in the morning. It was noted that the individual thermostats were showing different days ! There was no bucket or boot tray (important for walkers), we did take our boots off outside the building but there was nowhere to put them inside the apartment - we bought a boot tray. We noted that the tin opener was on its last legs. Please note that none of the above is meant to be a complaint, we loved the apartment and its location and really enjoyed our stay and would like to come again. Thank you.

The flat is on a recently built estate and we found it to be clean, tidy and quiet.

The designated parking space was a bonus. The flat itself was lovely. It had a real homely feel. It was decorated and furnished to a high standard. Everywhere was clean and neat - reassuring in these Covid times, thoughtfully, there were even masks and gel for our use. The kitchen was well equipped with a good range of the pots, pans and containers we use a home along with plenty of utensils. There was milk in the fridge and tea/coffee and biscuits/cake on arrival - most welcome! The lounge and bedrooms were deceptively large and there was plenty of room for four people (we were two). The flat has the new BT Fibre broadband providing an excellent high speed connection. The smart TV had a spare HDMI and USB2 ports so we were able to connect our Chromecast (brought from home) and stream Netflix etc via our mobiles. Remember to install iPlayer and any other apps on your mobile before arriving. The flat was well located for town, walks and nearby tourist places. There is a passage at the end of the houses which brought us out at the traffic lights and down Prospect Hill into town. The passage also led us straight on to the Cinder Track which we walked the 7 miles to Robin Hood Bay where we had lunch at the Victoria (sit in the Orangery overlooking the bay). The X93 bus stop is opposite and took us back to Prospect Hill. This flat was a super find and we hope it is available next time we visit Whitby.

We really enjoyed our stay in the flat.

It was very clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. It had everything we needed (apart from a cafetière! - bring your own if you like fresh coffee in the morning). The shower was hot, the bed was massive and comfy and there's a smart TV which you can watch Netflix or Prime TV if you have your own login details. The property is about 10 mins walk from the town centre, and the cinder track is about 150 yards, if you turn left from the "front door" From there you can head left into Whitby or go right and walk to Robin Hood's Bay (so beautiful, and well worth a visit) or all the way to Scarborough if you really want to. Do note that the flat itself is up 2 flights of stairs. There are no lifts, so either pack light, or make sure you have someone in your party strong enough to carry your heavy bags up for you!! All in all though, we're very happy to recommend this flat - it was a lovely, peaceful home-from- home.

Had a fantastic stay at cowslip retreat. Accommodation was beautifully decorated and to a high standard and well equipped but you do need to take you own sauces, oils etc etc. The views from the patio were outstanding. The pub at the top of the road was unfortunately temporarily closed so we had a walk to the Salmon Leap pub which was a 20 minute walk, they only have short opening hours 5-10 every day. Bus stop only a 5 minute walk to take you into Whitby. Molly was extremely helpful. I messaged het a few times with questions which she answered straight away. She was there when we arrived and showed us around. Would definitely recommend .

We had a lovely stay, the flat was nicely situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.

Having a car parking space was helpful, especially after a long drive. Everything worked and there was every utensil that I think most people would likely need. I found the bed comfortable. The master bedroom was a decent size with plenty of hanging and storage space. This is a minor gripe, but there's no space in the kitchen cupboards, due to the plentiful stock of utensils. Realistically, though, if you're eating out a lot, the fridge-freezer will suffice, otherwise you'll need to keep dry goods elsewhere. Like I say, it's minor and didn't cause us problems over our three night stay. Would be happy to stay again.
