"This is a stunning little cottage very clean and the owners are very nice and very helpful. I am loathed to give any negatives but there are one or two that have to be mentioned. Firstly we have cottage holidays in the UK two or three times over a year and this cottage is expensive for its size in comparison to the cottages we rent in England and Wales at the same time of the season. It is a studio cottage rental but the best has been made out of the space available. The cottage is situated behind the owners house in the back garden and it is not really for anyone that has mobility problems. The chairs give little support and there is no couch due to space availability. On a positive note, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are good although the kitchen has limited work surface areas, but, plenty of utensils if you are cooking your own food. This is a very warm cottage if you venture out in the low season. Good television reception and the Wi Fi is fine This property would be good if you like to play Golf with Turnberry ten minutes away or if you like walking. Nearby historical sites are Culzean Castle and better still if you take photographs is Dunure Castle which is awesome. Then a fairly short drive to Alloway for the Robert Burns experience. There is a grocery store just a short distance away which has almost everything you could want including what I suspect to be the biggest selection of flavoured crisps in the UK, never knew the flavours existed. I like to fish for trout and there are quite a few waters available with just a short drive. All in all we enjoyed the visit, I would not return due to my personal health problems, I simply just need a bit more space and I would not rent a studio accommodation again knowing what I know now. But for all you healthy couples out there, this is a good rental and well worth a visit !!"

"I love visiting Holy Loch Manor because it is a place where I can go with my friends and family and have a great time. It is the best place for kids because there is tonnes of space for big games like capture the flag, football, rugby and cops and robbers and many more!!! Additionally in the garden there are great trees to climb and cool stone houses and bushes to hide in so you never get board! In the house there are lots of rooms to do shows, play games and have BRILLIANT pillow fights!!!!!! OUTSIDE: In the mornings we enjoy going outside to the beach and collecting shells and playing in the water. In the summer we sometimes go swimming. One of the best things is that in the evenings you can get wrapped up in hats and scarfs and go down to the beach to have a brilliant bonfire and toast lots of yummy marshmallows!!!! ROUND ABOUT: We have a great neighbourhood, everyone is lovely and is always up for a chat. Near us there is a great pier to catch fish for dinner, sometimes you even see seals!! Round about the house are lots of mountains and rural areas to go walking and exploring like Pucks Glen, Benmore Gardens and the Kilmun Arboretum. If there is ever a rainy day there are also indoor places nearby that do soft play, laser matrix and indoor climbing and the local swimming pool is cool and has a flume. Finally I think the Manor is a fantastic place to go with you and your family to have adventures and quality family time together!!"

"We have been lucky enough to stay at this fantastic location a number of times and would heartily recommend it to other families or groups of friends. From the moment you step on the ferry to Dunoon, you can feel the relaxation beginning. And arriving at the stunning ‘big White House’ with its own private beach, the holiday feeling continues. The house has beautiful gardens which we have enjoyed everything from an Easter egg hunt in with our kids, to long family lunches. Inside the house there is a strong family feeling which, vast as it is, feels very homely. There’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy and the views of the Holy loch you wake up to each morning are something else. When we’ve managed to drag ourselves away from tea and cooked breakfasts by the Aga, we have had a brilliant time exploring Strone and the surrounding area. Plenty of things to keep the kids entertained including woodland walks and toasting marshmallows on the beach, plus, if you don’t feel like cooking, there are many family friendly pubs nearby for lunches or early teas."

"What a fantastic and memorable family holiday! Enough room and comfort for several families with loads of great things to do within easy reach. The view of the loch from every window is sublime and the beach is perfect at any time of year. Amazing for kids. Driftwood fires and square sausage breakfasts are a favourite and walks up Pucks Glen with its waterfalls and forests. There’s quad biking and archery nearby too. Or you can just sit on the enormous lawn and look at the mountains. Oh and the beds are the most comfortable in the whole wide world."

"A wonderful quirky but very comfortable and well-equipped historical house in the centre of Anstruther. The Red House has loads of charm but also comfortable beds, a great power shower! Beautiful sea views from the top floor sitting room (there are 3 reception rooms). Access to a lovely garden. The sea/beach is just a few metres walk away. The owners live next door and are very welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful stay here with my parents and young children aged 6 & 4. We would all highly recommend the Red House and Anstruther."
