"The apartment is on the ground floor of what appears to be a grand house overlooking the main A827 Aberfeldy road and the river Tay. However, drive around the rear into the car park and the ground floor now becomes what is essentially a basement, because the house is built into the hillside. To access the apartment one must now pass down 12 rather steep steps into a passageway formed of the back of the building and an 8 foot retaining wall which supports the car park (my wife actually joked that one could do an underside check of the car from here!). The alternative is to walk back to the other end of the car park where it flattens out and back again down the passageway. To enter the apartment one now passes through a scruffy, gloomy entrance passage.Inside, an extremely spacious lounge/dining area offers beautiful views of the hills beyond the river Tay, and at first appeared to be comfortably furnished with ample seating for 7-8 people. However, appearances were deceptive as over the course of the week the seating proved to be anything but comfortable. At the rear of the apartment the kitchen and both bedrooms faced onto the aforementioned retaining wall and were as a consequence very gloomy, not helped by the fact that they face north. The kitchen was well equipped but was not as clean as we would have expected i.e. the toaster was full of crumbs which had spread out onto the work surface and under the microwave. The taps over the sink are difficult to turn on and off.But the worst offender of the week has to be the double bed, which we agreed is possibly the worst bed we have ever slept in. Both my wife and I found getting comfortable difficult and woke up most mornings with backache.Other than more stiff taps over the sink we found the bathroom to be of a good standard.Taken individually each of these points would be a minor niggle, but when combined they became a major issue which meant that returning to our 'home from home' was not the happy experience it should have been."

Plenty room for people to relax in what ever room they are in The lounges are both large and spacious helpful having a downstairs bedroom for those who may not manage the stairs and also a separate downstairs shower room and separate toilet Both the fires were on when we arrived and made the rooms look really comfy and warm the chairs in both lounges were all very comfortable the whole house is easy to access people found the house really to get round and loved the large kitchen where we gathered in the morning the bedrooms were all very comfortable loved the wee touches chandeliers were beautiful and the dining room was gorgous fitting 14 around the table comfortably out side was a wonderful space we had 2children with us who loved exploring and also 2dogs the gardens were all enclosed which was great and the large laundry area was very helpful I would come back to pinewood house in a minute wonderful memories thank you amazing I so didn't want to leave this is the best property I have ever been in"

"I do not have words to accurately describe what a beautiful home and gracious and friendly host the owner Sally is. Our time in this beautiful home was just about as perfect as it could be. The home is super spacious with 5 large bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. The kitchen is fantastic for preparing large meals, we ate there almost every night with more than 8 people at each dinner, and the Orangery is very cosy. The weather was perfect while we were there and so we spent hours at the outdoor dining table, sitting around the fire late at night and enjoying the swim spa. My children spent hours in the garden with the chickens and just generally running around the high, safe and quite grounds, and we even hired a local fisherman to help the kids fish for a couple of hours. The owner, Sally was amazing. So friendly, so helpful. Available when we needed her but left us alone at other times. We absolutely loved you Sally. Book this home, you will have an experience of a lifetime. Wonderful."

"Our family of 9 adults (3 generations) could not have asked for a more perfect stay in Scotland. Logan Manor is beautifully appointed with all the comforts of home. We were greeted by the owners, Sally and Terry who could not have been more welcoming and gracious. This beautiful country home provided a relaxing retreat after a long day of sightseeing. We thoroughly enjoyed the chickens who live on the property and the eggs they provided. The property offers over 3 acres of privacy yet it is only a 15 minute walk into the town of Dalkeith or to the beautiful Dalkeith County Park. Edinburgh is a short 20 min taxi drive away or you can do as the locals and take the bus. Sally was so helpful with assisting us in making transportation arrangements, providing dining and online grocery recommendations. We highly recommend staying at Logan Manor, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Sally and Terry for a wonderful stay in your home."

"The cottage was historically interesting, beautifully clean, and Jenette was friendly and helpful. There were some downsides, though I feel mean mentioning them. The back garden was not very dog-proof, despite the addition of a couple of gates that our cockapoo bounded past immediately; the stairs were very steep; the bed was softer than we were used to; and the kitchen was a bit cramped. Equipment levels were inconsistent: there must have been about 50 plates but only two forks, and we ended up arranging our groceries on the worktop because the cupboards were so full of other stuff. The TV and DVD were not connected when we arrived, so we had to pull the units out and disconnect the Freesat to free up the scart cable. There were three radios but they were all non-working and ornamental. Overall we felt we were squatting in someone else's home rather than being given the space to make it our own."
