What our customers say about their holidays

I think the description of the property being in the Rolling Country side away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world needs reviewing seen as you are right on a very busy noisy road.

It also states you have a parking space but when you arrive it seems you have to park in the barn as if you park on the small space in front of the barn and go out you are blocking someone else's barn and they may need Access. We have a 3 series BMW to get this in our allocated barn we had to pull in the mirrors and only had literally space of about 5mm each side and back of the car . Good job we have a good driver in the family. Both of these points I feel should be stated in the listings. On to the good points: cottage was very nice inside Living room comfortable love the barn door especially as there is no outside space although we closed it at times due to traffic noise Had a television that works lots don't now Kitchen lovely with all cooking utensils needed and a small breakfast bar to eat meals at Bedroom also really nice just enough cupboard space , I found the bed really comfortable Bathroom also nicely done . I found the cottage to be clean and airy. May need a freshen up with paint work soon to Keep it in this nice condition. To sum up parking / noise of the busy road not good but the cottage itself is really nice

What a lovely place to stay.

The cottage had everything we could possibly need for self catering. It was very comfortable, lovely big bed. Nice modern shower room and kitchen. Great location with walks right from the door down to the lake at Windermere and Wray Castle. And a nice pub just 2 mins walk away. Hadnt realised so much would be provided in terms of dishwasher tablets, tea towels, etc so that was a bonus. The little box of tea bags and biscuits etc was a nice touch too. Only negatives were that it was freezing cold inside when we arrived and took ages to warm up once we put the heating on. The towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work but we reported that so hopefully already fixed. And we only tried parking inside the barn once…… very tight and we don’t have a particularly big car. And we got back to find we’d been blocked in by someone else parking in our outside space. None of these would stop us booking again though, we had a great time and thought everything was a really high standard. Thank you!

We have just returned from staying and im disappointed by the quality and cleanliness of the apartment.

There was only 1 glass in the kitchen (apart from wines glasses) in the cupboard there was a broken plate and cracked mug. The floors are so dirty. I don’t think they have been hoovered in a while. I dropped something under the sofa and was disgusted by the clumps of dust and hair on the floor. We had to wear socks all the weekend as you wouldn’t walk bare foot (would recommend taking slippers) There was loads of hairs everywhere. In had to clean the bath before using it and there was so many hairs in the bed. I had to lit roller the bed but still couldn’t get them all. The amenities are really poor, only got 1 toilet roll, no hand soap in the bathroom, no logs for the fire. We come to celebrate a special birthday and I spent the first day cleaning and it basically put a damper on the whole weekend. The apartment has so most potential as the location and apartment could be great but it’s looking tired, lacks the basics and isn’t clean.

This is a single room studio apartment with a small kitchen, a double bed and a 3 seater sofa.

The kitchen was very well stocked with high quality wares and the bathroom with dedicated shower was also of a good standard. But, space is quite limited particularly if you decide to stay for a week. The single-room space is tightly packed with the above facilities leaving no free space to even stretch or do yoga in the mornings. Smoke alarm is sited in the low ceiling close to the cooker which frightened us but fortunately we didn't set off the alarm with our limited cooking! Activity in the upstairs flat can sound booming sometimes due to low ceiling. Lack of on-site parking is definitely an issue as spaces may not always be available in the three designated car parks for the long-stay permit issued. We felt a space for the studio could have been carved out of the three/four car parking bay that adjacent prospect house guests have. All this said, the studio is well situated, generously kitted out and well maintained, worth considering

We have used this apartment several times because of its location and the fact it is dog friendly.

However the serious lack of investment shows. On arrival the balcony area where you enter was filthy. We swept the worst of it ourselves. The actual apartment was clean apart from the velux windows which were extremely dirty. They are easy to reach and swivel in for cleaning so there’s no excuse. The kitchen is very poorly equipped. There are no side plates so we ate our toast from bowls. We reported this several months ago and it is no better. The can opener is in the drawer in bits. The pots are in a shocking state and should be thrown out. It’s such a shame because a few hundred pounds of investment would make such a difference. As it stands it is definitely not a gold standard property. Numerous other people have raised the same issues. The positives are it’s cosy, the shower is decent and the bed is comfy. Such a shame about the rest.
