"What an idyllic little spot for such a characterful, cosy cottage. Lovely walks - our favourite has to be Runswick to Staithes ( the fish and chips at The Cod + Lobster are second to none) Thank you for the heads up on "Doctors Wood" loved it, especially the streams and ford! Great walk to Goathland - Beck Hole Pub is worth a visit as is Runswick bay cafe! Great walks, great food, great weather, great cottage. We will be back with the family to further explore this beautiful part or Yorkshire. "

"Fabulous! Made us feel completely at home. The whole property, especially the kitchen was very well furnished. The welcome tea, cakes & Bucks Fizz were the icing on top. The landlords were very helpful and very welcoming. Will definitely recommend this cottage to others! Location of the property is in the serene gateway to the Yorkshire Moors. Great location to visit both the Moors & Dales & York!"

"We have had a lovely week here and have enjoyed staying in this delightful cottage. It is so full of character and is cosy and comfortable with a touch of home! There is plenty to do around the area- would recommend visits to Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes. If you're feeling energetic walk north up the coast to Runswick Bay and catch the X4 bus back to Whitby, such a beautiful coastline... Enjoy."

"Great week and great cottage. Nice walk down the hill to the station. Turn left into Doctors Wood on the left down the hill. Nice stream, bridges and little waterfalls for the kids. Pops out by the church cemetery and the train station. Train ride to Pickering is great. Staithes great for crabbing. Saltburn beach is a must. Visit Eden Camp for a good day out. Love Whitby!"

"It was the perfect place for us to stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful - they even helped us to spring the surprise on our grandchildren (they didn't know they were going to stay in the train carriage). The heating was very effective and easy to control. I understand it is also an air conditioning unit. The tearoom next door serves delightful scones."
