"The Old Stable is a purpose built holiday let. Although finished to a nice standard, we personally we found it rather clinical. The sofa in the lounge is rather small so after a long day exploring in the cotwolds it was hard to relax (my partner is 6ft2) and the single beds didn't do anything for the romantic in us ! Looking at the previous occupants the majority appear to be couples so I would suggest the single beds are replaced with a nice big kingsize bed. Also, it was difficult to get a Wi-Fi connection as this is extended from the owners property so the only way to stay connected is to position your device on the window ledge facing the owners house, which made lazy browsing impossible. (you had to perch on a chair by the kitchen sink) plus there was no 3/4g connection either ! The owner did explain he was having some issues with wi-fi and was waiting for the Engineer to come out on Tuesday (2 days after we left), but I did read some similar comments from 3 months ago so I would check before booking. All in all, a good location for Bicester shopping village, a clean and well maintained property, with some lovely touches such as the lemon cake on arrival, but this didn't make up for the rest ! To be honest we left a day early as we wanted to wake up in our own comfy bed and browse the web :)"

"surrounding's are beautiful and in lovely Cotswolds area. however the lodge was a bit disappointed by the quality. doors to the deck doesn't close or open properly, you need to pull and push so many times to get this right, so we ended up opening only one door. also deck and roof weren't cleaned properly, so much spider webs and dust which we had to brush out ourselves. you could tell they were there for months built up to that stage. other windows were very stiff to open and close too. lack of kitchen equipment and filthy old stuff. chopping board was terribly rotten. hot tub was old, little covers and bits come off all the time. overall built quality of the lodge was poor, not great kitchen equitment, need to be maintained and cleaned properly, overall dated although they said it's renovated not long ago. really bad horse poo smell 24/7 (right next to stable). so many flies that we couldn't even get away from. I've been to better places than this at cheaper price at great location.. I wouldn't probably come back."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"Would highly recommend this lovely cottage in excellent quiet location. There was reference on the listing to building works at the rear but we did not hear anything so this was not a concern. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you needed. Comfortable lounge with log burner for cosy evenings, only used once as weather was very good to us. Garden was beautiful and a sun trap, with bbq and outdoor wood burner for the later evening. The owners were welcoming and approachable and there when needed. Great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We even took the train down to London for a day at the National Gallery and a show in the evening. Really enjoyed our time here and will definately be coming back again."

"Good cottage, very clean, excellent shower, comfy beds, two chairs in lounge could have been comfier but Ok for short periods. Problem with the fridge/freezer, the fridge part apparently not working and only just kept cool by the freezer below. Brought to the attention of the owner who was unable to get an engineer out until the day we left. The other issue is the fire alarm in the kitchen is so sensitive that every time you open the oven door the fire alarm goes off. The solution is to take or buy a cheap shower cap to put over he alarm when cooking. Remember though to remove it afterwards!Handy location for several counties and the main section of the Cotswolds."
