"Arrived a little early so called owner to see if we could wait outside as no where open for a drink nearby. Said she would speak to husband on site but not to forget the £50 deposit!! Great start. We waited outside and were surprised to see it was pretty dull looking. Not bright like the online images. No garden or river nearby that we could see just a patio. We were allowed to check in early about 3.30pm. Inside was small open plan but looked nice and clean. Shown around and how.to use hot tub etc and deposit (no idea what this was for) was handed over.Well equipped kitchen and all ensuite rooms. But if it sleeps 6 why is there only 4 chairs in the lounge area which was tiny! We were.left milk and.fresh eggs which was a nice.touch...along with a manual telling us what the owners expected us to do on leaving.Nice central location for getting about. Nice Chinese in Abergele called wongs and a good takeaway too.Had a great week out and about. Especially recommend the Locked in Escape rooms in Abergele for a great evening.Hot tub was nice although I don't think it was working as it should be. Needed to be screened off was open to camp site and people going to farm no privacySadly we had a few niggles which could easily be sorted.Cat.....if you like to sleep.with windows open at night be prepared for the cat to come in a some early hour..both downstairs and upstairs on numerous occasions meaning being woken up by girls to get the cat out...okay if you like cats but if you scare.easily beware of this one.Wet room....cannot shower for.more than a minute as due to poor drainage and not enough slope water goes under door and floods bedroom...not good when your shoes are there.Cooker...no instructions on how to use oven as faded on dials.Windows no nets so had to keep curtains closed as.people.coming and going at farmhouse all the time...so not very private.Fridge....very noisy all the time new one needed.Tv nope useless and if you don't have a Now tv subscription you will need to get one or you're watching nothing. Broadband was okayish. No mobile signal at all.Cleaning...having read the folder on how to leave the property...can honestly say we have stopped in many cottages and have never been told we have to strip the beds...what are we actually paying for? Probably left it cleaner than when we arrived certainly cleaned up a lot of dead flies and spiders from behind beds.No sockets near any mirrors ladies.Found folder notes from owners quite short and.sharp came.across as unfriendly on paper.....quite nice in personCould not leave until property inspected....and then got deposit back.Although it's a great.location it needs some.tlcNot like the images as obvious paint and varnish has faded since taken. Oh and no bbq as shown in images on website.Would not go there again felt it overpriced for.what it is despite the location."

"Cottage is in a quiet, off road location, yet only three minutes' drive from nearest village, where there is a decent pub (The Crown), and ten minutes' drive from Prestatyn. There are stables and horses on site, and the owners have a friendly though large dog, and cat. We received a warm welcome with milk and a lovely cake provided, and chat when we passed throughout the week. The cottage is quite spread out and felt a bit big initially for us as a couple, but we soon got used to this! The cottage does sleep four and would be plenty big enough for this size group. There is a large garden, which we didn't use but would be great for a family in the summer. It was always warm when we came in at night - great on the days it was chillier.Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. Toilet did smell a bit (this may have been the septic tank) and there were one or two cobwebs. The shower floor is quite thin and moves when you are in it, and the bathroom would benefit from an extra towel rail - it didn't feel as if there was quite enough towel space for the two of us (and I think this would be more the case with four). But these are minor things, and we really enjoyed our stay and our week."

"We were a family of 8 adults and 2 small dogs that enjoyed an excellent week in S18158 over Christmas. S18158 has a really nice feel to it and was a real "home from home" for the family and was even decorated with a tree and xmas lights. The whole house was very well equipped with anything and everything that you are ever likely to need for a large family gathering. The property was very clean throughout and there was plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. The gardens were very kept very tidy. Well located for dog walking in the nearby Delamere Forest, for shopping in Chester, and the Goshawk pub only 250 yds away was very good. There is an excellent A to Z supplied by the owner which tells you everything about the property and the surrounding area. Would thoroughly recommend S18158 to any family planning to visit the area and hopefully we will return again in the future."

"A very tired looking accommodation, initially seemed very sweet and homely. However when you looked a bit deeper broken light shades, light bulbs out in most of the rooms, insulation tape holding shower head up ,dirty bath, Curtains in the main bedroom didn't close had to use pegs, the plugs socket in bedrooms poorly placed, the fridge didn't keep cool and the freezer had broken drawers and over frosted. For 8 people another toilet would have been useful there is room for an on -suit off the main bedroom. We didn't think it was value for money it was all shabby and dated.Saying that our dogs loved being safe in the fenced in area and if the owners repaired and replaced items that are damaged we would go back. "We had a lovely family holiday in this wonderful house. The location is perfect very close to the train, the pub and dalamere forest on the doorstep with Chester just a few miles away. A beautiful location, lovely gardens and well equipped house. The rooms are huge and although there were 7 of us there was plenty of room. It really is a home from home. The owners are extremely helpful and genuinely can’t do enough for you. I would love to come back and do more, 3 nights isn’t enough to explore all the things around. I’d highly recommend this house and location, we thoroughly enjoyed it and all commented how lovely everything was. Thank you so much for making us welcome and hope to visit again soon."
