"Ok, so I was looking for a cottage that ticked quite a few boxes. It needed to have all the following: * An open fire * Quiet Location * wifi * pet friendly without those pet smells * clean * Not too far from my home Chasewood Farm Cottage ticked all of these boxes and more. I booked the cottage as a surprise for my husbands birthday. He is absolutely obsessed with open fires so this was perfect! I knew the area so it was easy to find but the instructions were very good. It is in an extremely quiet area and the wildlife sounds were all you could hear. When we arrived it was very dark but we had no trouble getting in the property with the instructions that I was given. When we went into the lounge it was spot on and so cosy. During our stay we did not need to use the second lounge with TV as we just sat watching the fire! The three bedrooms are all a good size and the views are spectacular! The bedrooms are also nice and warm and bedding is spotless. There are two showers and the hot water was always readily available. We took our two teenagers and although the wifi was quite slow, they never complained and were happy to just sit and chat in front of the fire! (they are normally glued to Xbox!!). I chose this particular cottage because it was close to my home and as it was my husbands birthday we wanted to be near the Link Centre in Swindon to watch the wildcats! BUT regardless, this cottage was perfect and we are already looking to return. We had the added bonus of seeing a female woodpecker, pheasants, Red Kites and heard frogs!! There was only one downside to our stay and that is, it cost me a fortune in logs!! I think I took several bags with me and also bought some from the cottage owner! But this was the reason for my booking and husband had a fab birthday albeit he has now come home sulking! Thank you"

"A lovely cottage overall, although I question its suitability for pets due to the owners keeping a variety of livestock on the same site meaning dogs can only go outside on the leash. Also the garden is neither enclosed nor private as it is used by the owners to access their animals. That said the animals are lovely and very watchable. The downstairs area (which is basically one, huge open-plan room) is really lovely and luxurious throughout with a utility/cloakroom as well.Upstairs is built in the roof space which brings the usual height constraints in places (most notably the en-suite bathrooms). Also I found the wooden staircase just a touch steep and slippery. The kitchen is lovely with very usable equipment and the wi-fi access is first class which is rare in holiday homes. Also the TV is large and can be used to view your own satellite accounts eg Amazon Prime etc which makes a very pleasant change from the usual tiny TVs found in other cottages I’ve rented.A very relaxing, laid back atmosphere which is what we were looking for so a very successful holiday ensued."

"Recently stayed in this idillic cottage for 1 week. Firstly I will say the photos do not do this place justice. Set in Crofton in the beautiful countryside. This Lovely cottage has a lovely big garden, and field attached to it so my children and dogs had loads of space to run around. The cottage its self is huge, it's very deceiving. The kitchen is a really good size and comes fully equipped with everything you need. They is a lovely big conservatory lounge dinner. A room with Two single beds a double bedroom, and a huge basement bedroom and ensuite bathroom. All rooms have Tv's to. There is a lovely canal with plenty of great walks and the locals are very friendly. It was so relaxing I didn't want to come home. The owners of the cottage we're great to and share the plot of land with the clockhouse and another cottage to. Definitely want to come back again."

"S25980is welcoming, clean and well stocked. Plenty of loo rolls, paper towels, basic cooking supplies, dish washing detergent etc. the kitchen has all the equipment you need for an easy meal. The sitting room is comfortable, light and airy; the beds are also good and comfy. Plenty of TVs and good wi-fi. The paddock is lovely and secure for dogs. The stairs down to the lower bedroom are a bit steep, but negotiable even for those who are not so agile. There is a laundry room with a newer washer and dryer. The villages nearby are true treats, showing the best of the English countryside. Best of all are hosts, Martin and Mary who are so accommodating, friendly and full of local info. We would most certainly come again."

"We had a lovely stay at the Calf Shed. Wonderful, spotlessly clean and so well equipped - there wasn’t anything extra we needed. Beds were so comfortable and cottage was really cosy. Location quite isolated which we like as it was quiet, but disappointed there wasn’t a pub or shop within walking distance. Would have been lovely to have a garden to sit in - there are amazing views to one side of the cottage and a yard to the other - the outside seating area is in the yard rather than the field which would have been nice, but not a deal breaker. All in all a lovely cottage which we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in again, but probably would choose to come in winter next time!"
