"Mike and Bella greeted us at the property and showed us around, they are lovely people and run the shop next door. S13741 has a log fire and central heating, we needed both as the weather took a turn for the worst and the living room took a while to heat up. The property is very spacious so there was plenty of room for four of us. The kitchen was well equipped and leads out onto a very large patio and garden area which would be nice in the summer in the nice weather. Upstairs both bedrooms have sloping ceilings and were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice but the water was tepid and we should have asked about it but we were lazy and just put up with it. We regularly popped next door to buy supplies and we did pop to the Hook and Glove restaurant which Bella recommended (no.1 out of 210 restaurants around Salisbury) which was had lovely food but perhaps be classed as homely looking (to us Town folk). We enjoyed our holiday and S13741 was worth the money we paid. I would say the only drawback is that it is very rural and if you wanted more than just a shop next door ie. a town then this is not for you."

"This was a happy find, we stayed for 2 nights whilst we visited family in the area. All beds made up on arrival, towels and tea towels were all provided, all the basics were there, washing up liquid, washing machine tabs, even cling film, foil and parchment if needed. There's a small freezer in the laundry room where there is a washing machine and a small tumble dryer. Hoover provided in the boiler cupboard, it's a basic home from home, you just need your clothes and wash things. We have two dogs that come everywhere with us and it was lovely to find somewhere to stay that doesn't make you pay extra for them, the garden is enclosed but if you have a small dog remember to blocked the side gate as there's a large gap from the bottom of the gate to the floor, nice to see that there was no little surprises left in the garden as not all dog owners are responsible and clean up after their furry friends. There was bits that you could nit pic at but we were overall very happy at finding this hidden gem, the bungalow is on a small estate but the driveway is slightly off the main rd and its in a very peaceful area."

"We stayed in the 'Cat and Moose' as a reasonably priced mid-week break in March, we wanted to visit Shaftesbury, Salisbury, as well as some walking and also visit the local village pub. The location is superb, the cabin has it's own sun deck and overlooks the River Ebble as well as a smaller spring. The cabin is finished to a very high standard and is well equipped. The bathroom can be a little bit of a tight fit but again wasn't a problem for us. If you want to go walking there is a bridleway directly opposite which takes you up to the Old Shaftesbury Drove and overlook the Fovant Badges. The owner is very welcoming and checked several times that we had everything we needed. The village pub is the Queen's Head and is a 10 minute walk from the cabin."

"Really well laid out and finished to a very high end. There were a few things that could be added. Hair dryers in each room, and a cup or something in the bathroom to hold toothpaste. Finally there was a noice in the master bedroom that woke my parents up each morning and sometimes in the night. We think it was the boiler in the next door property as the flew came out of the roof close to their room. The local area was very picturesque with a watercress farm at the end of the road. The local pub was within easy access and the food very good. We met a few villagers and we were greeted with a warm welcome. With all this in mind we would love to return to Kings cottage and Broad Chalke"

"We had a lovely stay at the Calf Shed. Wonderful, spotlessly clean and so well equipped - there wasn’t anything extra we needed. Beds were so comfortable and cottage was really cosy. Location quite isolated which we like as it was quiet, but disappointed there wasn’t a pub or shop within walking distance. Would have been lovely to have a garden to sit in - there are amazing views to one side of the cottage and a yard to the other - the outside seating area is in the yard rather than the field which would have been nice, but not a deal breaker. All in all a lovely cottage which we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in again, but probably would choose to come in winter next time!"
