"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les and Janice's cottage. They both made us feel so welcome and the cottage felt like home from home. We were even welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and pack of cheese(!), alongside bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. They were so nice when we needed help to work the underfloor heating system - we rang their bell and they were more than happy to come over and show us, even though it was the evening. The cottage is so lovely, kept exceptionally clean and felt very cosy, even during a bad storm during our second night's stay. Although there are 2 other cottages next door, they are very sound proof and you still feel like you're in your own private location. Les and Janice have thought of everything, even down to a large jacuzzi hot tub and a room with a washing machine, board games and table football for evenings or bad weather days. There is a Co-op and pub near by and it was only a very short car ride into Devizes itself, which is a fantastic town! There was so much to do in Devizes that we ended up spending a day and a half there. We particularly enjoyed walking down the Caen Hill Locks, seeing the Wadworth Brewery shire horses on their beer delivery and walking round the Thursday market. There are also some lovely cafes there to watch the world go by. Devizes is also a great town to be in if you like very old buildings, because there are a lot of original tudor buildings (the old 15th century hat shop off St. John's street is a must see). We would definitely recommend this cottage. Les and Janice were so welcoming and friendly (without being intrusive - they also give you your space), and their cottages and facilities are of a very high quality. We also feel that it was very good value for money, especially as our dog was allowed to stay with us for free! And their rescue dog, Clover, is beautiful! Highly recommended!"

"Was very pleased when we walk through the door into S13711 nice kitchen, everthing you needed for a nice peaceful holiday.Wake up in the morning and look out the kitchen window and see the horses oh and the donkey. The cottage had something you don't get at most holiday lets is FULL sky channels was up early to watch the F1 Race other wise would have had to wait till I got home.I would have given a ten on the equipment score only we did miss the dishwasher ,the wife was not used to washing up so sorry for the amount of fairy used.Would I return ,you bet we had never been to Wiltshire before soon realized what we had missed it has everything for all age groups. We took marks advice about the three Daggers pub its great micro brewery best night we thought was Monday steak night and a free bottle of house wine if you order 2 steaks well cooked food the dinning room was full. One new museum that's just opened and well worth a visit is the REME museum in Lyneham on the old RAF camp and the the Steam museum in Swindon all less then 34/45 minutes away.We enjoyed this holiday because it was peaceful every were you went was not packed with people rushing everywhere just a nice pace.Loved Devizes pub down by the Canal or shopping in Marlborough."

"This was our second visit to this cottage because with over 40 years of self-catering holidays we have never come across anywhere as good as this. The welcome is warm and the owners very considerate. They are quick to make sure you have everything you need for your stay and the 'welcome pack' is very generous.Although the holiday let is attached to their house, you are not aware of their living quarters, while the dogs and geese provide additional entertainment in their very large garden. The outlook is beautiful and you are not aware of their neighbours. Its location in a quiet village is superb with a single drive to the gates of the property. At the end of the drive is the village shop while just down the road is the Lord Nelson pub.You are free to spend your holiday as you wish and the owners are keen to discuss where you went and what was there of special interest."

"We stayed for a week and the cottage is very comfortable, cosy and in a great location. The local pub (the rose and crown) was brill and we really enjoyed our stay. However, we felt a bit ripped off by the fact that we had to pay for the electric and central heating on top of our stay. The owner was very kind and helpful, but the initial logs were not great (didn't seem to have been dried which h made the fire hard to get going and some were almost kindling size), and some of the standard stuff (like toilet roll and washing up liquid) was quite stingy. Overall it was great value for money for the time of year we booked and we had a lovely time. But we do at least one of these types of holidays per year, and we have never had to pay for the electric and heating before. If this hadn't been the case, we would'be probably recommended and come back."

"We received a warm welcome from the owners and the welcome pack of bread, milk, eggs etc was very much appreciated after our long journey. The lodge is in a very peaceful location, it is well equipped and extremely comfortable, we found it an ideal base to return to after busy days exploring the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed watching the horses on site, the three bulls in an adjoining field and the attention of an adorable donkey. We would be happy to return if in the area again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend."
