"I stayed at S4019 with my partner, my parents and our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at S4019. The location is perfect for Salisbury (10 minute drive from the nearest park and ride) and a 10 minute drive from stone henge. It is in a small village with a farm shop selling pies, cakes and vegetables and a pub called the Boot Inn that had a wide selection of lunches and evening meals. However, the shop was shut on Monday, our day of arrival. The cottage itself is gorgeous, just as I would imagine a cottage to be. The front garden is perfectly cared for. However, we took a miniature dog with us and he could have got out of the garden between the trees or through the gate. Not a problem as we had taken his extender lead with us so kept him on that. The family have thought of everything! They had a doggy cupboard with a selection of items for dogs - and had even provided the details of the nearest vets. Everything you could possibly need and more was provided. Child gate, hand washes with every sink, tissues, drinking straws, spare serviettes and plentiful cutlery are just a few of the items we were surprised to find. The family had also provided lots of information about the surrounding area, including tourists leaflets, local magazines and a list of the closest supermarkets with postcodes. The finishing touches were also perfect. The dinning table had already been laid and there were little teddy bears on every bed. This is our first cottage experience, and we felt the cottage was deserving of a four star rating rather than the three stars it had been given. It was a perfect place to stay and we would most definitely look to stay here again if we wanted a holiday in this area."

"An excellent cottage that is exceptionally well equipped, with a modern yet sympathetic decor, decorated to a high standard. Everything seems to have been thought of, especially in terms of the 'mod cons', such as a bluetooth speaker, that are often lacking in cottages. The bedrooms are surprisingly spacious, each with a double bed of various sizes, and decorated in their own style. Our only obvious gripe was that it wasn't an especially warm cottage, even with the heating turned up. When we visited in February we often struggled to stay warm when sat on the sofa. The wood fire is a nice touch and certainly helps, but cannot be relied upon especially if, like us, you're not very good at making a fire. Likewise, the parking could be an issue for some as there is none available outside the cottage. The nearest is the allotment parking approximately 100 yards up the lane. It's not far to walk by any means, and there's access to it from either the rear or front of the cottage, but some may struggle when laden down with belongings/suitcases/children at the start/end of the trip. That said, it really wasn't an issue for us, merely a minor inconvenience. Both of us and our dog enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely visit again."

"The cottage is picture perfect beautiful property. It’s a home from home with everything you can ask for. Towels and treats for dogs and wine and snacks for us on arrival was a lovely thought. The garden although beautiful was not so practical for us. Patio area outside door but steps up through overgrown archway to the lawn area to the right of the property which has loads of lovely plants then steps up to another area for hanging washing many levels to conquer.Although enclosed We couldnt see the dogs due to how overgrown the garden is but was lovely plants etc This theme follows into the cottage with very steep stairs not ideal if your not steady in your feetWe wanted to be able to walk to local pubs but this ain’t really possible as closest 1 1/2 miles but not safe to walk likewise with shop Good access to walks from the doorsteps however lots of public footpaths etc Probably not as clean as I would have expected but linked that to the age of the property Overall we wouldn’t stay again garden was awkward for dogs and one fell down the steps and also the amenities just not close enough, we had to use car a lot more than we expected"

"The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything that one might require. All was clean & very comfortable. The elaborate planting of the garden areas was both a joy to the eye as well as ensuring privacy. The 4 bedrooms meant we had various relatives to stay for varying short periods who we would have been unable to see during such a fully planned fortnight. It was interesting to be able to see what life could be like in a such a "Chocolate Box Village" as Berwick St. James for the relatively small percentage of the UK population who could afford the (presumably very high) local property prices - many residents either had a Mercedes-Benz set of wheels parked kerbside or an immaculately clean & shiny large 4WD which seemed unlikely ever to leave the black-top."

"We found S4019 to be very well equipped for a lovely family stay. Great attention has been given to equipment needed. The kitchen is quite small and the downstairs rooms were smaller than expected. Bedrooms were a good size with comfortable beds. Bathroom with separate w.c. both good. The garden is a very pretty, typical cottage garden and contained for children. The off road parking is good. The village and road is very quiet. Pub within walking distance and excellent farm shop even closer. A warm welcome from the owner was given on arrival. We were a family of four adults, one child 5 years and one child 19 months and this property was more than adequate. It was an ideal base for touring Wiltshire."
