"More attention to detail is needed when cleaning, particularly in the storage area in loft bedroom and the loft bathroom. Bed linen has seen better days. Some kitchen utensils sticky and baking trays definitely seen better days. Table mats sticky and dirty. The grass needed cutting which made it unpleasant to sit in the garden. No welcome pack so beware if you are arriving late. Stairs are very steep and there is no toilet on ground floor. Steps into front door very steep although it is easier to go in the back door. Designated car parking space was apparently repaired on our last day however there is still a dip on driving into it and there are lots of pot holes. You either have to reverse in or out and along a long narrow road. You cannot see the car from the cottage. There is parking on the road however which is a safer bet.Good information packs available about surrounding areas with places to visit, walks, etc.Good base to visit this beautiful part of the country if the cleaning issues are dealt with, in a lovely little village with lots of local amenities and lovely walks."

"My family and I had a lovely time wandering around the peaks next to S25068 cottage. The cottage was very well equipped and we had a very nice fire in the wood burner on the last day as the weather became cooler. (we brought our own logs and kindling with us to continue the fire as there is a starter set only) We took our dog, a small Springer, with us. I made sure she was always cleaned off before she entered the living room after having been out. There were a lot of steep stairs so I would not recommend anyone to stay in this cottage if they have issues with mobility. Also in the small garden area, it is a tiny yard which is accessible to other households and there are steps leading up to a small grass area with a table. All in all, we had a few wonderful days staying at this cottage, it was quirky and just in the right place for many walks to the peaks, only a few minutes walk to the town of hayfield, pubs and local shops to buy provisions from."

"Nice and well equipped cottage, probably a bit small if fully occupied, but fine for two and a dog. The back garden is on multiple levels and our dog loved it, plus the thoughtful biscuits left by the owner. Access is predominantly via the back entrance, as the side entrance is shared with the farm across the yard, and whilst the front entrance can be used it a bit of an obstacle course as there are farm railings and sheepdogs in the way!Not really a cottage for people who are not mobile, given the multiple level back entrance and the multiple levels in the cottage itself. The cottage is located near to many walks more or less straight out of the door and there are many local pubs all of a good standard, particularly the Packhorse. The lane leading to the cottage is a bit potholely and the turn leading into the track leading to the cottage is a bit tricky. All in all we enjoyed our stay there."

"The cottage is centrally located near the town centre, yet manages to be quiet. Access in the car requires some care at first but is soon mastered. The accommodation is comfortable and spacious, all on the ground floor and the two bathrooms are an asset. The conversion works well, with none of the snags you sometimes find with this kind of accommodation. The owners live next door and were most welcoming and always helpful. Bakewell itself is a joy and living at its centre was a real pleasure, with every facility you might need including excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. There is so much to do in the area that in a week we barely scratched the surface. We shall certainly come to S16476 again."

"The cottage was beautiful. A lovely location and had everything we needed and more. The owners left welcome fruit and wine, which was very kind. Everything was comfortable. The only things that didn't make me rate 10/10 for all was, there were a few comments/situations which didn't make us feel very welcome. Most of the cottage was lovely and clean but some quite obvious areas were dirty. Lots of the kitchen bits were scraped and chipped and there were stains on bedding and towels.Nothing that put me off. I was grateful to have them. It was such a beautiful cottage and location and the pool was fab, even if rather cold. But you get used to it :)"
