"Where do I start, I booked this house to meet up with my 4 uni friends, their partners and children. We had a fantastic time. As soon as you enter, the drive up to the house is very impressive and the pictures do not do it justice. The house was massive, plenty of space that you did not feel you were in each other’s way/space. Plenty of seating around the dining table so we could all eat together and plenty of seating in the lounge so the adults could have a drink together while the children were in bed. Kitchen was a great size and well equipped for big groups. The games room was outstanding and such a luxury to have - the men definitely had fun in there playing on the pool table, snooker table, table tennis table and darts board. Because we had children we drove to Markeaton Park on the Saturday which was only 20/25mins away. We found the location perfect, nice and quiet but only a little drive away from shops, pubs and parks. We loved this place that much that we are booking again for next year."

"The accommodation was spotlessly clean on our arrival. Plenty of space, nice to have a dishwasher and tablets. Beds were very comfortable and nice decor. Could do with a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang towels and more clothes hangers as there were only six hangers for a family of four. There were a couple of broken slats in the fence around the hot tub and the outside of the lodge could do with a fresh coat of paint. We had a problem with our heating not working, the maintenance man was very helpful and came out three times to have a look at it, but it wasn’t until we left that the manager told us about a button to press to turn it on (seems our accommodation was missing a ‘green’ book which had instructions in and the maintenance man wasn’t aware of the button either (he had only been in the job a couple of days). The shower in the ensuite leaked."

"The lodge itself (Oakwood) was more of a mobile home dressed up as a lodge, it’s was tired in places and could do with some new furniture, but it was clean, cosy and comfortable. We were given plenty of towels, mini toiletries etc, the electric fire was great, we used that to heat the lodge in the evenings. Two issues, the hoeseasons info states you will have a bottle of wine and some basic supplies waiting for you, we didn’t.. not a major issue as we went to supermarket before we got there. Biggest issue for me was the hot tub, it was not warm when we got there, they state it’s because it’s emptied between each usage, I guess you can’t argue with that, but when your only there for 3 nights and the first night it’s not usable, it is not good! Every other hot tub lodge we’ve been to has never had that issue!"

"It is a nice place and base, but I was there when it was very cold and the lounge needed the oil radiator on alot to keep it warm (but the plug overheated rather if left on too long!). The kitchen is a new extension and is well equipped, but has no heating and so was very cold. Some nice walks around for the dog - but a long walk to any shops. The website suggested a pub and a shop 1 mile away. the former is only open now and then at Milton and does not do food; not sure where the nearby shop was meant to be. However, some shops at Repton c. 2.5 miles away"

"The lodge had a lot of damage including chips on vases, scratched plates, pots and pans. Rubber hanging off the oven and a very thin mattress where you could feel all the springs! I feel that they have stuffed the cabins in all together taking away the privacy feel that you get at so many other similar parks. The lodge needs updating, by spending money on decor, mattresses and furniture it could be brought up to standard. Even a mattress topper would help! The hot tub area was lovely although very small for four people."
