"Great Holiday, fantastic home, has more than you would expect as far as equipment, sundries etc are concerned for a holiday home. Would love to stay here again. We had young children and they were also more than accommodated for.Good local hospital facility's which unfortunately we had to use. Ashbourne is a beautiful town right on the edge of the peak district where we enjoyed fantastic walking and cycling from. Very beautiful park of the country. My following comments are not negative just constructive as this is a fantastic holiday home and we loved our stay.We originally booked for 8 adults and 2 children, a couple dropped out and to be honest with 6 adults and 2 children the house was about the right size. would have been a squeeze sleeping wise for more.Parking this is not due to the owners! they give you strict instructions on where to park and if you don't adhere beware. If you have more than 2 cars between you beware. even if you can squeeze 3 cars on drive you will receive complaints. Regardless of owners adviseIf you don't park quit a way away from the house you will receive complaints, not that there's any parking restrictions, permits or specific bays etc If you have a nice car personally I like to park it close by not streets away.Neighbours are aggressive and rude, which is a real shame as our experience of local people in general was the complete opposite. Its ok for them to start heavy duty tree cutting at 7am though for 3 days running!! No local facility's, the pub is now over 1mile away as local pub is currently closed. However a short drive to Ashbourne provides all facility's you require."

"On arrival we were surprised that previous reviews had described the cottage as spacious. As a group of 5, we found that the awkward size / shape / layout of the seating area made it difficult to all watch TV together in the evening. Whilst it's nice to have an extra sofa away from the TV for those wanting to read, the seating near the TV only had 2x two-seater sofas and 2x dentist waiting room- The seating area is also the through-route between the kitchen, bathroom, pool room and staircase, so it felt a bit like a corridor at times. I think the cottage would be most suited to a group that wants to spend evening sitting around the large kitchen table, or perhaps two couples who want to go out early hill walking and spend evenings in the pub. Positives: clean; plenty of hot water and the shower was good; corner room bed was comfortable; pool table was great; the north-east facing garden has views over countryside; the wifi was fine; there are a 2/3 really good National Trust properties in the wider area but driving there takes quite a while. There's a steam railway close by. Negatives: the property is right next the A52 so there is 50mph traffic noise from 6am; bathroom radiator is too small for the room which is cold; condensation problems causing puddles in the bathroom and kitchen; bathroom and kitchen floors are freezing, bring your slippers; cooking was challenging at times due to poor quality pans, but the oven was good. Overall, we thought the property was quite expensive for what we got, compared to others we have stayed in, especially as it isn't in the most popular location."

"The cottage is beautifully appointed with a great deal of thought and consideration having been put into the furniture, furnishings, decoration and equipment. S16446 was spotlessly clean and presented as though we were first people to have stayed there since it was decorated / refurbished.Nice touches such as flowers, chocolates, cake, orange juice, bubbly etc. all add to the pleasurable experience and shows that owners are not cost cutting but making the experience as enjoyable as possible. The outside decked seating area behind and above the property has been very cleverly completed, providing a private, peaceful and relaxing area. This was very welcomed as on weekends and bank holidays when the weather is good, the cottage and front garden will attract attention from visitors. Night time is wonderfully quiet and peaceful and no street lamps which is nice."

"This property is amazing. Top of the range appliances in the kitchen and so well kitted out with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. There is an ironing board, iron and Hoover. The bedrooms are even bigger in reality than they appear on the website and the second kitchen was ideal for my daughter to use to prep bottles etc for her baby. The gym was well equipt too so enjoyed a couple of sessions in it.The games room exceeded expectations, pool/table tennis table, X box, board games and small library. The utility room housed a dryer and was a great place for the dogs to dry off after their walks. Then it's a fridge freezer in the kitchen and further fridges in the second kitchen and utility room.I would highly recommend this property, I don't think anyone could find anything to be disappointed about."

"We were absolutely delighted with the cottage. Stayed for 4 nights at the end of March with my wife and boys aged 7 and 4. It’s in a quiet rural location with beautiful views. Great location for exploring the Peak District and also only about a 20 minute drive to Alton Towers. It’s also very close to Leek with all its amenities. We found it to be very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It’s furnished to a high standard with a lovely mixture of traditional cottage features with lots of modern aspects such as under floor heating. The bathroom is very nicely done although there are no photos on the website (I would recommend adding one to show how nice it is too). All in all there’s only good things I have to say about the place. Cannot recommend highly enough. Would definitely stay there again!"
