"Very comfortable for 2 people, but very cramped for 4. Took 10 minutes to find the double bedroom, an armchair sits in front of the door! To move the dining table out for 4 people requires blocking access to the twin room and the bathroom. The cleanliness in general was excellent but the underneath of various pots and pans had not been cleanedy previous users. Kitchen was well equipped with items not many people would use on holiday but we couldn't find any baking trays (to put pies, quiches on to heat). Only space for one person in the kitchen at any time. The worst thing of all was the constant noise from the flat above, we felt we were living underneath a herd of elephants! Having said all that, once we could move our luggage into the twin room (2 people were only staying 2 nights) it was much more comfortable and the owner was friendly and helpful. The view from the double bedroom was lovely, although people staying in the other properties drive or walk past the window so curtains need to be closed most of the time."

"We enjoyed the area and would visit again but not this cottage. We had an issue with the heating oil being smelt in the kitchen & lounge and had to leave the window open the 5 nights we stayed. My husband noticed there’s a leak as there was a pool of oil outside the kitchen window on the floor. Reported to the owner who blamed the wind blowing the wrong way! Also the blinds in the bedroom are inadequate. The light from the outside security light shines straight into the bedroom throughout the night. Mentioned to the owner who suggested we bloke them up, which we were already doing with cushions... not idea as it’s a barn and u can imagine how high one of the windows was. Shame, the decor and surrounding of this cottage is stunning but sadly we wouldn’t return. Also because it’s a small kitchen, but very well stocked I will add with quality crockery, the oven door wouldn’t open fully and I couldn’t adjust the shelves to fit our turkey in!"

"This property is amazing. Top of the range appliances in the kitchen and so well kitted out with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. There is an ironing board, iron and Hoover. The bedrooms are even bigger in reality than they appear on the website and the second kitchen was ideal for my daughter to use to prep bottles etc for her baby. The gym was well equipt too so enjoyed a couple of sessions in it.The games room exceeded expectations, pool/table tennis table, X box, board games and small library. The utility room housed a dryer and was a great place for the dogs to dry off after their walks. Then it's a fridge freezer in the kitchen and further fridges in the second kitchen and utility room.I would highly recommend this property, I don't think anyone could find anything to be disappointed about."

"Fabulous little cottage to stay in. Perfect location and suited our needs as three lady friends together all wanting our own rooms. So good to have all the bedrooms of similar quality and comfort. Even the single room was decorated nicely with decent bedding and excellent quality mattress. The property was full of of character and very homely. Everything we needed for our stay. Very pleased to have the extra toilet upstairs even if very compact!Parking could be an issue as it’s a very narrow road and only one entry point but we managed to get a spot every night outside the house. Great village with two good restaurants very close on the High street and a good choice of pubs in walking distance. Friendly people and we felt like locals just after a couple of days."

"Our stay at S76908 was luxurious and comfortable, it made for a home from home experience. The hosts Ian & Bev were top notch! The attention to detail was purely excellent, in fact the best we have ever received in the many years we have been visiting Derbyshire. Nothing was too much trouble and they willingly were flexible when the occasion demanded it. Regarding the property Its a place designed for families with older children, not toddlers! If you are in that bracket then you are in for a treat. I found the beds comfortable, plenty to entertain you, a stunning patio outside and many excellent features to numerous to mention right now. It was a definitely a memorable stay and it is definitely a place we would like to visit again. Many thanks Ian & Bev."
