"Raspberry Cottage is a very pretty cottage from the outside. The garden and outlook are lovely with views across open countryside to the side/rear as it is at the end of a terrace (the only thatched cottage). The local pub is approximately 200 metres from the cottage and serves food. We found it a friendly place and the food was typical pub fare, although they had run out of some options while we were there as it was busy. The location is good as it is close to Deal (10 mins drive) which was a lovely place to visit as were Sandwich and Canterbury (30 mins). Inside, the lounge area was comfortable with a working fireplace that we made use of (although you need your own supplies). The dining room is a good size with all the utensils/crockery provided and a good sized table to sit around. There are historical touches around the cottage that add interest and make it homely. The kitchen and bathroom areas are small and somewhat dated. We had gone with the intention of cooking some of our meals but really the kitchen is not suitable (cooker could do with updating and oven trays were very dirty) so we stuck to making pasta on the first night and then just having breakfast there. The damp smell from the bathroom can be a little invasive but this is probably due to the fact it's not mains drainage. The bedrooms are a good size, although the mattresses have definitely seen better days. Washing up liquid/cloths etc were supplied and we were also left some long life milk/tea/coffee/sugar. Other than that, you need to ensure that you bring supplies (we didn't bring toilet roll as we thought it would be supplied - it wasn't - yet there was a box of tissues in the bedroom and a kitchen roll in the kitchen, so possibly an oversight). However, that said, for the price we paid, we still thought it was a good deal and it is a very sweet little cottage with so much potential."

"I've been staying in cottages for many years and Claire's Cottage is my favourite so far. Despite being tiny it is light, comfortable, cosy and very well equipped with a pretty garden. It has been restored beautifully retaining nearly all the original and historic features and it's interesting to look at the album showing photos of the restoration. The location is excellent. You can walk into Hythe (if you have the energy to walk back up the hill) which is a historic little town of great character and there are plenty of interesting places to see in the Romney Marshes without having to go far. If you have a wet day use it to go to Dungeness on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway! I have already recommended this cottage to a friend and I am sure I shall visit it again in the future."

"We have here with our children two great weeks spent. The very complete furnishing of the house you feel already very much at home, and the attentions of owner Angela contribute additional to this. Flowers on the table and the first supplies in the fridge, great. The house is very quiet on a closed estate, but in the immediate vicinity is a lot to see and do. In nearby Hythe are many facilities available, and this is well complemented by the towns of Ashford and Folkestone, both within fifteen minutes away. From Ashford is to reach the center of London by train in half an hour. Closer we have found, inter alia, the RHDR steam train, the beaches and the coastal park of Folkestone and Port Lympne safari park very worthwhile. We certainly hope to return again to this wonderful holiday!"

"Thank you for the lovely welcome, really enjoyed the cream tea and for a wonderful holiday. The cottage is a real home from home, all the little details were covered. Restful décor and furnishings, very comfy bed. Communication very good and all queries answered quickly and small issue with the shower sorted immediately. So many lovely places to visit, spoilt for choice. Recommend Walmer Castle, Great Dixter gardens, Dymchurch beach, Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway and Deal. A lovely atmosphere at the opening of the Hythe Festival. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. A huge bonus is the beautiful garden, eating breakfast and evening meals outside and just pottering!' Thank you"

"You wouldn't believe the A2 and a major supermarket were 5 minutes drive away. Perfect for us family of five and after a busy day exploring the Kent countryside (there is so much to discover) relaxing to come back to and just veg out in comfort while the kids argue as they play billiards and throw darts at the dartboard. The owner is exceptionally hospitable and with a well equipped kitchen (even has a dishwasher!!!!!) I cannot recommend this cottage as a base for exploring this part of Kent enough. He even gave us the name of a pub serving exceptionally good value for money meals....The Chance Inn. Certainly one to revisit when we invade this part of England again!"
