"Myself, my partner and my brother stayed at the S83698 this March for my birthday surprise. From what started off as an awful holiday (our car broke down on the way there!) soon turned into bliss. Thank you so much to the owners for picking us up from the local supermarket late in the evening, and also sending us our money that we left in the upstairs bedroom! We need honesty like that in the world! The barn itself was very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. I was a little apprehensive at first as one of the reviews mentioned that the garden was not fully enclosed for dogs. This isn't true! There are effectively two gardens: one leading up to the woods and a smaller garden on the side of the barn that is fully fenced off with decking and chairs. I could let my dog out at night to go to the toilet with no fear that he would wander off.The highlight of this barn is definitely the location. Situated in the Tamar Valley, you are about a 10 minute walk away from some of the most beautiful trails. Directly opposite the garden, there is a river trail which has a dozen waterfalls along the way as well as a few caves! The village of Gunnislake does not have much to offer. But even though we were without a car for the first three days we still found plenty of stuff to do. Along the trails we came across some old mines which was an added bonus. We could drive to a dog friendly beach in about 40 minutes. We would also definitely return as the place was excellent value for money - plus the owners were lovely! Thanks again for all your help. Caris, Eddie, Carl, and Boycie :)"

"We really enjoyed our stay at S84122 and it certainly matched the photos. We were very pleased with the wonderful welcome hamper that had clotted cream, jam, scones, bread, daffodils and milk in the fridge. It was a lovely welcome and we really enjoyed our cream tea. So much so we went to the farm shop to buy more scones and cream. The cottage is perfect and worked well . We had two families and a pug including three children. The estate is very well maintained and the children loved the lambs, highland cattle ,goats and all the birds and pheasants. It is a good centre to be able to explore both Devon and Cornwall. It is a very comfortable place to stay and well equipped. We were welcomed when we arrived and met when we left which was appreciated. We would highly recommend this property. Little things like the hamper and the stair gate that was put in which was very useful for our pug.We recommend going to the farm shop for their delicious pasties. They are so well filled and absolutely delicious."

"S81952 is a very well equipped and thought out dwelling. It is ideal for a couple and a small to medium size dog. It is very clean with modern up to date equipment. There is a large modern shower cubicle rather than a bath, which suited us perfectly. The village is very picturesque with a small river running through it. It is tight for large vehicles, but typical for Devon. There are no shops or stores but the village pub, ‘The who’d have thought it’ is a jewel. It’s dog friendly, serves good food and has a selection of beers including guest ales. The staff are very friendly and obliging. The location is ideally suited for exploring Plymouth and the surrounding area, being just on the edge of Dartmore, it’s literally minutes before you are away from the tight Devon roads and onto the slightly wider but open moorland roads. There are also a number of walks from the Cottage, so it is possible to go car free if you wish. All in all an excellent choice."

"We have stayed at S25383 several times as it is a convenient location for visiting nearby family. We have returned because it is a pleasant place to stay and suits us well. The bed is very comfortable. The bath towels are a good size, unusual in a holiday let. The wifi was very efficient this time after problems on our last visit. It's nice to find a carton of milk in the fridge and biscuits and tea on the worktop on arrival. Our minor niggles are a lack of basic items such as a tea towel and a washing up brush/sponge or dishwasher tablets. Apart from a bottle of washing up liquid there was nothing so we had to purchase a pack of sponges and a box of dishwasher tablets and take the reminder home with us. The first time we stayed there was a nice set of matching crockery but now a mix of different plates, huge mugs and tiny wine glasses. Overall it works though and I am sure we will be back."

"S86229 is absolutely lovely, as are the owners Penny & Paul, who made us feel very welcome. The location is central & beautiful, but very remote. The nearest shops & pub/restaurant are a good walk away, along a winding country road. The cottage had everything we needed for our week-long stay, & we were even able to get our groceries delivered by Tesco. We had a lovely welcome basket left for us containing fresh eggs, milk, butter, bread, cereals & biscuits, & we bought fresh honey - the money from which is used to buy feed for the animals. Talking of animals - this place is not for you if you don't like insects or animals. We regularly shared the patio area with the 3 resident hens & had to a spider sweep of the bedrooms every night before we went to bed! Haha. Overall, one of the nicest places we have stayed in central Devon. We would definitely go back."
