"Second time at this 'cottage' and enjoyed Robin's company again. Fantastic experience with beautiful setting and three lakes to row on. The antics of the menagerie of animals kept us entertained (swans and cygnets, ducks and geese, wallabies, emus, peacocks, ponies, donkeys, goats of all kinds, different types of hens, guinea pigs, rabbits and alpacas). A tiny kid was born while we were there which added to the experience. The fresh eggs in the welcome pack were delicious and Robin brought us more.My husband was particularly interested in Robin's huge collection of vintage tractors.Location was convenient for visiting National Trust sites and Newbury with its history and lovely market. We didn't manage a trip on the canal this time but were told it was well worth doing. The Watermill Theatre at the village of Bagnor is a must. The only negative for our family was the lack of internet access."

"The house is so handy for the beach, shops and restaurants. All are within yards of the door but as the property is tucked back it isn’t noisy. The owners met us on arrival and told us all we needed to know. We were able to bring the car to the gate to unload and reload. Car parking was easy. Either in the nearby pay and display using a voucher which is quite cheap or on the esplanade for free (3 mins walk away). The house had 2 very comfortable bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. There was a very nice welcome basket of tea, coffee, wine and pastries and fresh milk in the fridge. We had a great day out to Canterbury and went inside the cathedral. It is beautiful. Whitstable was great too. Oysters and chips in the harbour. We also visited Ramsgate and Margate but they were not so impressive. It was a really great holiday."

"WiFi did not work at all during my weeks stay which was very frustrating so if I had to work it would have been a greater problem.Kitchen equipment was obviously either not reported by previous guests or checked as the can opener was left in the draw broken. I left a note to this effect but it did prove a problem.Refuse- a BIG problem. I realise there are two weekly collections - not every week as it is used to be but when there is a changeover and the previous occupants leave the bins full to bursting, it means I had nowhere to put ANY rubbish other than deal with it by driving somewhere. This is not ideal on a daily basis whilst on holiday and 6 people generate a lot of refuse, Friday is collection day usually but it had not been emptied. Suggest housekeeper needs to make sure bins are empty if there is a weekly Let."

"Excellent in every way. There were 6 of us. We enjoyed the home inside and outside with fantastic weather and a beautiful garden and patio attached to a quaint and cozy/comfy home. We used the kitchen as we would at home, making meals and baking scones and cakes.... Fully equipped kitchen. 6 of us there for 8 days made the washer and dryer a blessing too. It was essential to have a car out in the hamlet of Peasemore but what a delightful area. Village folk could not have been friendlier when we went for walks. Some showed us around the church, telling us the history, others directed us to the farm shop for fresh meats and vegetables... Good location to visit other places (Bath, Oxford, Newbury and more). We had an amazing holiday at The Old Post Office."
