"We chose not to write a review in the guest book, if you can’t say anything good say nothing!! We had a good holiday, the location was perfect. The house was not clean the sittingroom rug was rank. The dishwasher was poor, would have much preferred a washing machine, as it seems the choice was one or the other, the bedding was cheap, cotton would have been nicer, the pillows were rubbery and uncomfortable, the vac didn’t work, so we were unable to clean the floors. We loved the sitting out area at the front, the garden is a bit of a mess but that was not a problem, the rear sitting out area was such a mess, dirty, and neglected, so we didn’t sit there at all, I am sorry to be so negative but having stayed in many holiday cottages over the years I have to say that this was the worst."

"Lives up to the hype! S75656 and Amble were very good to us, we felt like locals for the week :) The cottage was spotless, spacious and full of character with the qwerkie seaside decor. The location could be more perfect! Step out the door on to the clock tower square with a lovely little garden. A few steps the other way and you are on the harbour with amazing views, boutique shops and fantastic restaurants. The cottage itself is very well thought out with the best facilities for a comfortable, relaxing stay. There were so many places to go in the area from fantastic beaches, castles, historic sites and shopping. We were so happy we chose S75656 and Amble for our stay, our dog loved it too! We really hope to go back soon :)"

"A great cottage in a beautiful location with lovely owners. Welcome basket provided was a lovely touch. The cottage was spotless and very homely and welcoming and very well equipped. The location is stunning with a view over the fields to Dunstanburgh castle. No local shop but that didn’t detract from the stay - if you know you plan for it. Close enough to Alnwick to have access to everything needed. Well positioned for attractions but with the peace and quiet we love when on holiday. We love Northumberland and come up every 3 or 4 years and we would definitely stay here again. It was a really comfortable stay both for us and our three children (toddler age to teenager). Ade for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday."

"We had a fantastic stay at S98771. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and there to meet us.The cottage is very spacious and tastefully decorated with nice extras such as Neals Yard toiletries in the bathroom and White Company bedding. This is one of my favourite areas in Newcastle/Northumberland, close enough to Newcastle or the Coast to explore and enjoy restaurants and shopping but in a perfect spot to enjoy the quiet of the countryside. Our children loved watching the animals outside, we saw rabbits, guinea fowl and the cows in the surrounding fields. All in all it was a great stay and would would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to others."

"The cottage is a lovely character cottage. The position within the village is great. The pub and cafe well worth visiting. The only downside for us was the cleanliness of the floors.I realise this visit was at the end of what must have been a busy season but the carpets were filthy. We had to keep slippers or socks on all week just to walk around. Again it is a dog friendly cottage but we could smell dog in the cottage despite the cleaner trying to cover it up with a very strong smelling disinfectant. We stay in dog friendly all of time and pay high prices to attempt to ensure it is as clean as we would expect at home."
