"The accommodation was spotless and very well maintained and is extremely spacious. All the appliances in the kitchen were very modern and of a good quality. Attention to detail was lovely even down to a torch and a great selection of books and games. Loved the numerous bathrooms particularly the rain shower in the utility room. Our dogs loved the garden but a fence or gate would have been welcome as they could easily leave the back garden and potentially get onto the busy main road at the front of the property. My daughter parked her car across the back access to prevent this from happening but our spaniel could still go over the garden area where the rotary clothes is. Anyone staying with dogs be vigilant. Beautiful garden with many aspects to it. Lots of apple, pear and damson trees. The owners are happy for you to pick the fruit when it's ripe. So my granddaughter and I were busy picking apples and pears on our last day. The hot tub was beautiful. Having lights around the hot tub area would have been useful as it was a little tricky getting out and finding your towels at night time. It was in a lovely location to enable us to visit the lakes, just a stones throw from the M6. A lovely pub was close by serving great meals and a co op about 15 minutes walk away. We used the facilities at the leisure centre which is part of a hotel, it was free because we were staying at S90041. Well worth a visit. Great swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room. A lovely holiday, we highly recommend staying at S90041."

"First international trip from Canada for two years and we booked this wonderful cottage for an extended stay for 10 days. The location was perfect for us which allowed us to plan trips to Ullswater in the Lake District, Keswick and Caldbeck. Enjoyed walks around Hadrian wall with days trips to Edinbrough, Newcastle and Carlisle. With the length of trip we really got to enjoy cottage life enjoying the good weather, the wonderful garden and the hot tub. Cottage was great too. Everything is new, immacutely clean and in good working order. We really were spoiled and the bedrooms have the most comfortable beds and great ensuite bathrooms. We stayed in the room with the great window view overlooking the river eden. We enjoyed the space it was great to have family and friends around and visit. Also check out the crown hotel pool and leisure facilities in nearby Wetheral that come free with the cottage...kids loved that. The pub just up the hill the queens arm has the best beer garden and great food. Has great reviews too. Great prices and beers. This place ticked all the boxes for us and would love to return in the future. Would recommend this place without hesitation to other people especially longer stays like us. Love the place so much we will come back and spend more time on the Scottish side of the border...enjoy...S90041 is a must and really made our vacation."

"Lovely cottage in a lovely location. The cleanliness of the cottage was let down by the strong musty smell in the kitchen. All basic requirements were met however the small extra touchs were missing eg. no iron or ironing board, nowhere in the bedroom to sit and dry your hair although there were 3 mirrors in the room there were no plug sockets near them therefore had to sit on the floor to dry your hair. Not enough towels for 3 people luckily we always take my own. Also an information folder would have been useful giving location of shops places to eat and places of interest to visit etc. The shower was very temperamental and only seemed to work if you ran the hot water tap on the sink at the same time, as we were only there for 3 nights it wasn't too much of an issue. The main negative for us was the owner who lived on site, who was very very particular about the gate on the drive being closed and told us he locked it at midnight and in fact was waiting on the drive with 2 large dogs ready to lock up at 10.30 pm when we returned from a night out. We have stayed in many many cottages over the years and have never had a curfew imposed on us!!! very strange. Finally 6 days after we had returned home we had a very rude phone call from the owner with a list of issues she wanted to discuss with us. Such a shame a lovely cottage spoilt by over zealous owners."

"Welsummer cottage is situated in an ideal location with the canal tow path only a short stroll away. The owners made us extremely welcome (including our dog) and nothing was too much trouble for them. It is one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed at, being spacious, light, tastefully furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The cottage, especially the kitchen, had everything you could need. The washing machine was shared and housed in another building although we didn't use it as we prefer not to wash and iron whilst on holiday. We much prefer to have a dishwasher provided in the kitchen which there was, and it appeared to be brand new. (No musty smell that can build up on some machines). The owners were very helpful without being intrusive and they provided a very useful much appreciated welcome pack, as well as brochures regarding the surrounding area. The cottage is set in secure grounds next to, but separated from the main house, and we had no worries regarding leaving our belongings when we went out for the day because the courtyard was protected by five-bar gates. After dark, for our added security, the owner locked these gates and provided us with a key in case we were late back. Our thanks to Elizabeth & Mike, we really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be returning."

"Beautiful village and accommodation generally good. Twin room unfortunately cramped with the combs. It was a bit dusty so had to vacuum on arrival. Space standards down stairs good and kitchen and lounge well equipped. It was beautiful weather for the week we were there and would have been ideal to have had a private area to sit outside. The outside space is situated at the front door which means sitting almost in the car park just a few metres away from several neighbours coming and going in their cars, some coming in just metres away at quite a speed. I hadn’t anticipated there was absolutely no private place to sit outside when I booked and felt this detracted from the enjoyment of a holiday property when the weather was perfect for bbq’s and being outside with family...we opted just to go out to eat instead. It might be worth mentioning that if you are taking a dog there is no garden and the property accesses unimpeded into a common car park and thoroughfare. Also the noise from the M40 is so unfortunate for the otherwise unspoilt Warmington."
