What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Wark To Rent.

E B - verified booking

"Just back from a long weekend staying in this cottage and I have to say it was excellent. The cottage is in a lovely hamlet - only houses, no shops or pub so consequently lovely and quiet. All you can hear in the cottage garden is birdsong and yet amenities aren't far away with supermarkets and local stores in Cornhill, Kelso or Berwick. The kitchen is lovely: large, with a dining table, and very well appointed with a great selection of cooking equipment. The sitting room is snug and cosy and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The downstairs bath is fabulously deep and the upstairs shower room has a great shower. The wifi is good and the garden is very pretty and secluded. Although we didn't use them, we noticed a travel cot and a high chair in the property. The Northumberland coast is lovely for seaside days out with long sandy beaches and safe bathing although you would need a car if staying at this cottage. Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this cottage to anyone who was wanting to holiday in the area."

"House just as described on website so initially very pleased. Large safe garden for our dog Poppy who loved the rabbits. Very friendly neighbours who told us there was a walk down to the river which we were looking forward to, however, the path is on private land so had to turn back disappointed - website does say "just a short walk from your cottage will take you to the banks of the River Tweed where you can bask in the delightful views" - just want to warn future guests. Be prepared to drive everywhere because there are no shops within walking distance. House is well equipped and comfortable but hanging wardrobe space very limited with only one decent wardrobe. We managed because there were only three of us, but if the house had been full (says sleeps seven) could be an issue. Towels were like sandpaper."

"We have enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. It is a peaceful location and seeing all the different birds and wildlife made it special. The barn owl came our at 10.30pm and perched on the fence before flying over the fields. Gardens nearby that are worth a visit are Hetton House and Mindrum from the Yellow Book. Shepherds House in Inveresk is also very good. Our trip to the Castle of Mey took us through beautiful scenery of the Highlands. Well worth the long trip! The Main St Trading company book shop and care in St Baswell is worth a visit. Lovely warm scones straight from the oven. We had a good meal at the Collingwood Arms Hotel nearby. This holiday to Northumberland was about seeing some of the places we didn't manage to see before and I think we managed to acheive that. Many thanks J&P, Hertfordshire"

Mr Morrison - verified booking

"The holiday in general was very good. The only problem some people might have is that the ground floor double bedroom is compact and the double bed is against one wall making it difficult if the person on the inside wants to get out of bed without disturbing the other person. The problem is more awkward due to the sloping ceiling which is close to the bottom of the bed and therefore tricky to get out at the bottom end of the bed. It is good there is a shower cubicle in the upstairs bathroom as the downstairs bathroom has a hand held shower attachment. The house was comfortable and very cosy. Northumberland and Scottish Borders is a very friendly area."
