"Unlike some properties at Lower Mill with limited views, S80374 overlooks the wonderful Somerford Lagoon and it's so lovely and relaxing to be able to watch and listen to the different birds that come and go. In the evening, we could almost reach out and touch the bats that came out to catch their supper. The whole estate is a joy for those of all ages, who love and appreciate nature. We don't have young children but for those who do, they would be well catered for. There's a lovely atmosphere across the whole site and everyone we met was friendly. A strict code of conduct ensures that nature, wildlife, and peacefulness take priority. The Spa is an absolute oasis; beautifully clean and with the outside pool being even warmer than the inside one. Our week long stay was at the beginning of October and one warm, sunny weekday we had the outdoor pool to ourselves for almost 2 hours-bliss!The house itself is spacious, clean, very well equipped for the number of people it can accommodate and would be warm and cosy during cold weather (we had to turn the heating off). The beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels clean. The only disappointment was the 'General Store'. This amounts to no more than a few shelves of random items within the Ballihoo Restaurant. They didn't even stock ordinary tea and were charging 60p each for tomatoes which, needless to say we declined. So, if you don't want to spend your holiday food shopping, make sure you either bring everything with you or arrange to have it delivered. We shopped at The Organic Farm Shop in nearby Burford (the organicfarmshop.co.uk) and would very highly recommend it. They stock pretty much everything you could need and the food in the cafe is delicious. Well worth a visit in itself for anyone who appreciates good quality food, with much of the fruit and vegetables being grown on site."

"The house was spacious, and the location was perfect. There was a large decked area with table and plenty of chairs at the back of the house, overlooking the lake. Two of the first floor bedrooms had balconies overlooking the lake. We were surprised that the top floor bedroom didn't have a window to take advantage of the view, but a skylight, that didn't spoil the holiday though. My son in law took his kayak and made full use of it on the lake. The grandchildren loved the swimming pools, indoor and out, as we all did, and the weather was brilliant. We also enjoyed meeting the swans with their cygnets, and watching and identifying the many different birds. There were some good dog friendly pubs close by, The Bakers Arms, The Greyhound and we particularly enjoyed eating at the Wheatsheaf. It was a wonderful relaxed holiday and we all wanted to stay on for another week."

"Really enjoyed our break at S78663 at the beginning of February 18. The house is lovely, I could have gladly moved in and lived there, it's in a pretty village with an award winning pub. There is everything you need for a holiday at the house, it has a good size garden which would be ideal in the summer to sit out and enjoy. The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in, my husband was impressed with the six TVs, I slept so well in the very comfy double bed. The only downside is there is no local shop, so whilst the pub is walkable, a car is needed to pop the the next village for milk etc. When we walked around the village I did notice there is ground put aside for a community shop/cafe which would be a really bonus for the village. We would definitely visit again, just wished we could afford the house if it ever came up for sale."

"The cutest of cottages...and a perfect place to retreat to after a day exploring the Cotswolds. We cosied up in front of the woodburner each evening and it was so relaxing. We enjoy breakfasts out and after looking at their website we ventured up to the Local Farmshop and it was like a ghost town ...we asked if we could have breakfast and had a luke warm response so we left. There is the one pub in the village...which we found odd to say the least. Plastic tables...extraordinarily bright lighting, not cheap and the was lined with locals not prepared to allow you to get close to choose your drink.. so our advise would be to stock up on food and nibbles...close the door and enjoy the cosy surroundings of the cottage x"

"Would highly recommend this lovely cottage in excellent quiet location. There was reference on the listing to building works at the rear but we did not hear anything so this was not a concern. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you needed. Comfortable lounge with log burner for cosy evenings, only used once as weather was very good to us. Garden was beautiful and a sun trap, with bbq and outdoor wood burner for the later evening. The owners were welcoming and approachable and there when needed. Great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We even took the train down to London for a day at the National Gallery and a show in the evening. Really enjoyed our time here and will definately be coming back again."
