"Lovely house for meeting up with family and friends. We were a party of 8 adults. Unfortunately we were unlucky as when we stayed the boiler and dishwasher were broken and there was only enough hot water for 2 persons. This meant for a very cold weekend. We tried to make the best of a bad situation but nothing was able to be rectified. Other points to bear in mind are that you only get one pillow per person and also have to share large towels. The area is very beautiful and we had some lovely countryside walks. Wifi worked well but some of our party missed a large tv. There was a lack of advertising for things to do, local area of interest etc compared with all the other cottages we have stayed in. In the details it states a welcome pack is provided but this is an instruction manual rather than a basket of goodies. Because of our bad luck we would not be returning. Cottages4you handled our problems well over the weekend and this would not put us off booking with them again. "

"The accommodation itself was fine - not at all luxury but non the less fine.Good points:Plenty of space Only a small number of lodgesVery helpful onsite staffPretty decent restaurant on site Nice locationThings we didn't like:The hot tub was useless to us for 2 reasons: the lid was just too heavy to lift and you may as well be in it on a busy street as it is totally overlooked by the other lodges and the campersWi fi was very patchyBut the worst thing and the things which would stop us going back is the fact our lodge had what would have been a beautiful view of the Thames however right in front of us was a patch of grass which they filled with campers. They where very noisy until late at night and whenever we opened the curtains they where "there" virtually in our living room and fully blocking our view. This totally spoiled what could have been a lovely location for us."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"Excellent in every way. There were 6 of us. We enjoyed the home inside and outside with fantastic weather and a beautiful garden and patio attached to a quaint and cozy/comfy home. We used the kitchen as we would at home, making meals and baking scones and cakes.... Fully equipped kitchen. 6 of us there for 8 days made the washer and dryer a blessing too. It was essential to have a car out in the hamlet of Peasemore but what a delightful area. Village folk could not have been friendlier when we went for walks. Some showed us around the church, telling us the history, others directed us to the farm shop for fresh meats and vegetables... Good location to visit other places (Bath, Oxford, Newbury and more). We had an amazing holiday at The Old Post Office."

"As a group of eight friends we enjoyed our stay at the comfortable four bed converted barn. One of 3 in the conversion. There are no amenities within easy walking distance especially in the winter but excellently positioned as a base to explore the many attractions of the area. Oxford and Newbury are les than 30 min drive and Wantage only a short drive away. One negative in the property is the WiFi. No broadband - only a 4G link which didn’t allow connection to a server, so if internet access is essential to a business person, this is not for you. Also, if you are a family with kids, there is only one tv to fight over! We would recommend this property and would definitely stay again if in the area."
