With tiers in place in England and Scotland, as well as rules in Wales - travelling for holiday around the UK is getting fairly complicated. We've put together a tool to help you understand the rules in place for your specific journey, to help give you some much-needed clarity.

An overview of travel rules based on your starting point
England Tier 3 travel restrictions
If you are in England Tier 3, you should avoid travelling outside of your area.
You should also avoid travelling to and having overnight stays in tier 3 areas, unless it is absolutely necessary for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment or because of caring responsibilities.
England Tier 2 travel restrictions
If you are in England Tier 2, you can travel to England's Tier 1 and Tier 2, however, you will have to continue following your Tier 2 rules at your destination.
The Scottish Government is advising against unnecessary journeys into Scottish regions where possible and the Welsh Government advises visitors from English Tier 2 regions to think carefully before travelling to Wales, but it is not prohibited.
England Tier 1 travel restrictions
If you are in England Tier 1, you can travel to England's Tier 1 and Tier 2, however, you will have to follow the rules of the Tier you travel into.

Wales
There are currently no travel restrictions in place for travel within Wales.

Scotland Tier 3 & 4
Avoid all non-essential travel out of Tier 3 & 4 Scottish regions. Non-essential journeys out of Tier 3 & 4 Scottish regions are illegal and are punishable with a fine.
Scotland Tier 1 & 2
Avoid all non-essential travel between Scottish regions and outside of Scotland.
