"A weeks stay in this amazing gem of a cottage was such a lovely experience. Great information and instructions given to us beforehand from the owners and a wealth of information on the village and the area is available in the cottage. Lovely welcome pack on arrival, everything we needed to start our week. It was certainly home from home. Instructions for all the electrical equipment and all mod cons are provided. This cottage is very comfortable and very welcoming. Before we arrived we had concerns about parking but it really was never a problem, just follow the instructions given and it is easy. Alton is a lovely little village, Londis is a god send, as we found the pubs food availability hit and miss, maybe because it was 'out of season?' nowhere serves food on a Monday and The Royal Oak is now closed, however The Bulls Head is definitely worth a visit and is literally 2 mins walk away, great food, good variety of ales and ciders. There are plenty of pubs to drive to and the Lovely Denstone Garden Centre just a few miles away, great food served there. The cottage is located on the road to Alton Towers, approx 1 mile away, we visited twice. Lots of local walks, The Ramblers Retreat is well worth a look, open Tues-Sun 10-00 - 4:00 This cottage was a delight to stay in and certainly has everything you need for a great holiday. Many Thanks to the owners for making our stay so special."

"This was advertised and priced as 'luxury' against that self imposed benchmark it fails dismally. The huts are very close together with limited privacy both from being overlooked and onverheard. There was broken equipment in the bhuts which when reported the staff showed a total lack of concern over. We paid for wifi (which in a luxury setting should have been free given there was no phone reception) which failed after a few hours, again when this was reported the only concern of the staff was to distance themselves from any liability. With no phone signal, the possibility of raising emergency services if needed was absent. There was not even a intercom type arrangement up to reception (which kept very short hours). We were required to pay extra for robes, given that beside the luxury element, the hot tub was a major selling point this was not acceptable. The hut was dirty and there was only a medium size bath towel and a hand towel provided per guest. In summary, very overpriced and poorly managed. there are a great number of better options available and I would recommend anybody use those."

"We had a lovely time. A few issues on arrival, we had a hot tub with a broken lid. It’s impossible to remove and replace alone, which meant sometimes I had to leave it open which meant it spent most of the time running at about 30-34 degrees which is annoying when your ready to get in at night when the kids are in bed but it hasn’t managed to warm back up yet. I mentioned it to the guy who settled us in and he said ring reception if we needed assistance. However there is no phone signal! At all.Underfloor heating was difficult. We couldn’t dry towels anywhere so ended up sharing most of the time as the room wasn’t warm enough to dry washing and the dryer was absolutely rubbish. The site was great for us, quiet, cut off from the world and a little park to entertain the kids. We walked around a few paths on the site with the kids and there were some nice walks. We visited Alton towers and went into uttoxter for a day. Close enough for a day out in many places. I would return but I would need a new hot tub lid. And the radiators on in bathrooms!"

"Me and my wife stayed here for a long weekend. We had a fantastic weekend, the hot tub was nice and warm, the staff were very helpful and considering there is lots of lodges around there is still a lot of privacy. Regarding the inside, the kitchen was brilliant, not too much and not too little. The lounge was just a bog standard sofa and TV which is enough for what we wanted. The bed was really comfortable, I haven't slept that well for a long time. The shower was slightly cold but I feel that could be due to hot water going to the hot tub which we understood. Only downfall was we stayed in lodge cabin number 50 and there appeared to be a few ants coming from between the 2 bedrooms, where there was a gap between the floor and wall. There wasn't millions just a handful, which we got rid of by sticking tissue in the hole. But except for that slight problems everything was absolutely wonderful. Would definitely go back."

"The lodge was clean, tidy and homely. However the layout of the living room and the placement of the dining table made the place feel very cramped. There was two of us staying in a lodge that slept 4 and was perfect for just us two, however would have been too small for 4 people. Hot tub was amazing and the area was beautiful. Staff was excellent and the kitchens had everything needed. However there was no iron and ironing board, you needed to borrow this from the main desk for a small deposit fee which was a pain if you was mid getting ready and needed to drive across to reception. There was many flies that swamed you the second you got in the hot tub too, which couldn’t be helped at all due to the foresty location, however would have been good if there was a can of fly spray as they did bother you quite a lot. All in all would be back in a heartbeat and couldn’t thank Quarry Walk for a lovely long relaxing weekend."
