"I regret marking this property down a bit as a little effort would improve it. One of the double beds is very difficult for 2 people to share. It is pushed into a corner of the room and has a large wardrobe against half of the foot of the bed. This means that it would be impossible for 2 people to use it without disruption. Fortunately there were only 4 of us and one couple used the twin room which was a tight fit. They used the spare double room as a store/dressing room! The wet room is exactly that! There is nowhere to put a towel without it getting wet and there is nothing to sit on. The wet room floor is pebbles - looks interesting but is uncomfortable on the feet. Do all the taps in the property have to have a different way of turning on? - annoying. There is no excuse for a number of lights not working (some had no bulbs and others had dead bulbs!). It is also dangerous to have a ceiling rose with no cover thus exposing the wiring. There is a 'trench' some of the way along the right hand side of the rear garden and this is a danger to children. There is also an overhanging laburnum tree any part of which is of course poisonous. The photos need to be updated as they are in part misleading. I am sorry to have been critical as we enjoyed our holiday despite the faults of the property. Had there been 6 of us, we would have complained on arrival. Also we did not comment in the Visitors Book because our complaints can easily be remedied by the owner taking more notice of the state of the building. Perhaps he should go there for a weekend with five others and see how well he manages!"

"S80664 was spotlessly clean. Couldn’t find fault with that aspect at all. We loved the cows directly behind the house on the farm & it was lovely to wake up to cows mooing and cockerels crowing, so totally different to home. There are no amenities in the village, except the pub, so you have to travel to nearby Martham for any shops etc. We felt that the kitchen wasn’t equipped enough for the maximum number of people, with only 4 side plates, dinner plates, bowls, mugs, glasses etc & only two saucepans, one frying pan & one glass ovenproof dish. You couldn’t easily cook a meal there if you were staying for a while. We were only there for breakfast, as we went out to eat the rest of the time, so it didn’t matter too much. In addition the double bed was really hard and uncomfortable, although for somebody else it may be fine, but there were no spare pillows or blankets should you need them. One of the biggest drawbacks is the parking & getting up and down the narrow lane to the property, especially as you have to reverse the length of the road in order to get the car parked on the hard standing directly in front of the property. If you had a big car or one that is very long you would struggle."

"Lovely clean cottage, bright and cheerful. For people interested in self catering, the kitchen has a large fridge and cooker but only very basic equipment. Lack of a frying pan meant no full englishfor the other half. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well, although the sofa in the living room left a bit to be desired, watching T.V. and relaxing in the evening was uncomfortable. As advertised, there were walks from the cottage door, lovely for dog walkers, also there were dog towels supplied for anyone who had forgotten their own. This cottage is an ideal base for those who want to go out and explore all the time. However, parking can be awkward for the larger car owner, but we managed. Another thing that we found was that, at times, the heavy farm machinery in the farmyard behind the cottage became obtrusive, especially as the windows and doors were open in the hot weather ."

"The cottage was very clean and quite well equipped with a lovely new bathroom. The owners were friendly. However we discovered late in the day that check in was strictly 4pm and check out 10am (even though there were only 3/8 properties occupied that weekend) so it worked out very expensive for what was a 2 and a bit days stay. We could have stayed 2 nights in a coastal hotel B and B for the same price. The complex is in need of some gentle modernisation and refurbishment after 18 years constant use - for example we took DVDs for the children in the evening but there was a rather old VHS video player. The swimming pool was a great bonus as the weather was sunny and warm but not sure how it would cope with 8 families as it was full with 2. All in all an enjoyable weekend break for our grandchildren. Thank goodness for the sunshine."

"The cottage is compact and well equipped. We were four adults accustomed to our own space so would have found it a bit too "cosy" if there had been seven of us. We stayed during the very cold snap in March and the cottage was very warm and cosy. We hardly used the lovely log burner. The "welcome pack" included basics such as eggs, milk and bread as well as treats. All the basic household items such as dishwasher and washing machine tablets were provided, which we knew before we left home, from a pre-visit telephone conversation. We didn't need to visit a supermarket all week as there are brilliant specialist shops in Sherringham and Cley. Friendly pub in the local village for meals out. Sherringham Park within walking distance. Lovely bracing walking along the cliffs and a great base to explore North East Norfolk."
