"As i am 36 weeks pregnant i thought it was a nice idea to take my husband and 6 year old son away for the weekend before the baby arrives. We paid a lot of money to stay in a lodge with a hot tub. When we arrived at 4pm we were told the hot tub was not ready as it had just been cleaned. As much as I appreciate it had been cleaned we were left disappointed it was not ready to be used till the next day. This unfortunately was just one of many concerns I had. Entering the lodge i noticed a funny smell which i tried to ignore, the patio doors were stuck up with sticky hand prints which I had to clean, the outside table was dirty which I also had to clean, there was mould in the fridge, the handles on the utensils were falling off, the main toilet absolutely stank of urine which the door had to be kept shut at all times, the carpet in living room needed a Hoover, there was crumbs under the cushions on the sofa, the heating broke on second night and we had to wait for an engineer to fix it the following morning. The standard of cleanliness I expected to be much greater considering this was not a cheap break."

"Loved the lodge location and how well kept it was! 1 minute walk from the lovely lakeside, nice calm area no noise from other lodges etc. Sadly the onsite resturant was absolutely awful we ate there first night and it was overpriced food at Wetherspoons quality, please avoid if you consider going there for anything more than a drink, partner and me found two hairs in our food we complained and they offered us a replacement meal I refused it as I didn't fancy being let down again and I just requested they maybe take it up with kitchen staff to take a bit more care in prepping food. Anyway besides that was a lovely stay, wish we could of walked into windermere or ambleside and probably would of managed but I was 34 weeks preg at the time of stay. Decking was lovely place to chill out and the whole lodge was child friendly enough for our 1 year old to roam free safely. We were blessed with hot weather which was perfect."

"We have just returned from S25989 and it has been a lovely relaxing week. The lodge has everything you need and more. Great loaction on the park as it situated in front of the woods so it's great if you have a dog like we do for walks. Short walk from the lake which you can see from the front of the lodge. The club house on site was a little busy at the weekend but ease off during the week which served nice food and drink. The only down side to the site is it is very dark at night as there are no lights along the lodges when you are walking back from the club house could cause a problem if you haven't got a touch with you. The site is well situated between Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside. You can get a taxi if you didn't fancy walking for as little as £7 each way for 4 people which is cheaper than the bus as the bus is £3.50 per person each way. We would definitely return to this lodge."

"We stayed in10 Waterside wood (a S107060). The cabin was dirty (there were splashes of the previous occupiers cooking on the kitchen walls and switches). The kitchen was missing a kickback meaning you could see straight under the floor cabinets at years worth of dirt. The outside veranda had parts of the banister missing which meant children and dogs could climb through and worse was it had aold rusty nails sticking out. The whole lodge smelt of damp so we had to buy loads of air fresheners and have the windows open the whole time. There was on,y one loo tool despite the cabin having two bathrooms. The outside windows hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The list goes on.The pool was so busy you had to book 24 hours in advance. The park was in a good location but our aging cabin very poor value for money especially given that it was one of the more expensive ones."

"My only complaints are pretty minor... we had 3 forks in a van booked for 4?! Would have been nice for this to have been sorted by the service team rather than us serving up dinner to discover. Furniture really needed to be moved and cleaned behind... we found a dog chew behind one sofa after I got fed up of the dog sniffing under it the entire evening and there were sweet wrappers in one bedroom cupboard.... there were a number o light bulbs out in our accommodation including an exterior which was a little unsafe.....as I say all minor but could have easily been addressed by service team."
