"The cottage was in a quiet location, yet a short drive to amenities, which is what we wanted, and owner was very pleasant and helpful. The standard of cleanliness was high, but there was a musty smell in the lounge, particularly in the cupboard for storing the hoover etc. I imagine this is due to the age of the property, that fact that it's under trees and that people aren't there very much to open the windows to let it air. We also had a problem with slugs getting in and finding them on the kitchen walls, which was not pleasant. We did find that the kitchen cupboards were full of cooking equiptment, leaving nowhere for our food to be stored out of sight and a colander to strain rice would have been useful. There was something suitable for straining veg, but the holes were so large that the rice would have gone through and been lost. Also, some kind of freezer compartment, in the fridge, even an ice box, would have been helpful. We did not have any issues with the TV, as a previous customer had mentioned, but I did have trouble sleeping, due to a bright green light on in the bedroom throughout the night, which was a real shame. I'm sure this is for safety reasons, but I want to sleep when I'm on holiday. I'm sure something could be done to lessen the glow. Please be aware that the bedrooms are quite small with very little room for bags/cases. We had to keep some bags in the lounge, which is not ideal, especially for a family.I have no objections to paying for the electricity that we chose to use. It was not a huge amount, and we understood that before we booked. However, I do object to having to pay for the electric towel rail in the bathroom which is on all day and night whether you want it in or not. There is no way to turn it off, unless you turn it off at the fuse box, but that also turns the fridge off.I can see how it would benefit the owner, and the property to have the electric towel rail on all the time, but it didn't benefit us in any way (we hung wet towels on the rotary airer in the garden to dry), so just don't see why we should have to pay for that. I would like to add that, despite a previous customer's comments about there being no toilet roll, we were provided with a good quality toilet roll, soap, kitchen roll and washing up liquid."

"I stayed at Hunters cottage for six days with my dog and my partner joined me for the weekend. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking essentials, it was clean, bright and the family running the caravan site were very friendly and helpful. The cottage had a powerful and roomy shower. As some other reviews have said the bedroom can be difficult to move around when you are on the side of the bed furthest away from the door but this is not really a huge issue. the decking outside has a gate so my dog spent the time looking out at the chickens and the doves who were occupying the area in front of the cottage. There is a velux window in the bedroom which is nice at night but is very bright from around 4:30am with no blind so some early mornings were had whilst I was there. Also the mattress cover on the bed was a plastic one so this made the bed extremely warm and the sheet kept sliding off it in the night. All in all the cottage was very comfortable to stay in, there are several beaches within driving distance and there is an ASDA not too far away meaning that essentials can always be obtained. I would recommend staying here especially with the dog as my dog seemed to really enjoy the scenery and walks."

"To be honest I wish I had read previous reviews about the property. The good points were that the location was stunning, really close to amenities and the owners were very friendly and lovely. However I stupidly didn't read that you had to take your own towels so it was a bit of a mad dash to get some in the town and then the payment of the electric meter was a bit cheeky as I thought it was included in the price... I would suggest for future visitors or such that brochures of local attractions or take aways would be useful and maybe even a DVD player with the TV as the only channel we could get was channel 1. Also the lights in the bedroom were annoying as I couldn't sleep with the light on all night So unfortunately we wouldn't stay again but those are our personal reasons, location was lovely as were the people but not what I was expecting from a holiday cottage."

"Everything was well prepared and ready for our arrival. The owner was very helpful. Easy access to washing and drying on site. Recycling and waste disposal available on site. Many little extras were included—tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and 1 pint milk on arrival. The shower was excellent and spacious, kitchen equipment all provided. The cottage was warm, hot water readily available and controllable from within the cottage. The location was pleasant, easy access from the road and suitable parking space on site close to the cottage. The chickens, doves, moorhens, coots and other wildlife added to the attraction, but did not disturb at night. There is one general shop in the village (¼ mile away), but Pwllheli is reasonably close, with easy access and all necessary shops, banks etc.The cottage is eminently suitable for a couple, but with no "appendages"."

"It's one of a kind, you really do feel like you're staying somewhere special. Loved the fact that there were 3 bathrooms, that it was clean and when we had a chill night there was Netflix! Not to mention it was close to a lot of places we wanted to explore 30-40mins drive. However if you're going with 4+ adults, someone is gunna have to take the room with the children's bunk bed. We also found that the light doesn't work in that same room and also we tried to find the iron and hairdryer but it we weren't sure where they were. A lot of little things were missing like dishwasher tablets and washing powder but there is literally a small shop just a minute away to grab the essentials. Which we left there for the next group to use.All in all we really loved our stay, it was big enough that we felt like we had our own space. Thank you for having us!"
