Miss Marie Stafford - verified booking
"This is a beautifully crafted little property. It cleverly packs in everything you need into the tiniest space and is incredibly charming and cosy as a result. Beautifully designed, with some lovely design details - the owners have a good eye for design! The interior makes great use of the natural brickwork - just lovely. Windows on two sides of the lounge space make this a lovely place to sit and relax and gaze at the countryside including wandering sheep and grouse. In warmer weather the windows can be opened up onto the patio - so it's perfect for all seasons. We stayed in early spring when it was still chilly, so we were glad of the logburner and plentiful logs provided - as well as the Netflix subscription! The cottage is remote enough to feel like a little hideaway but very close to the village. The local pub is lovely - unspoilt with good food and big log fires. I loved this place and would happily stay here again. Highly recommend it. Travel light though - as it's a small space, there's not huge amounts of storage space of course. "

"We loved the way that the cottage has been laid out. We very quickly felt at home as all the facilities of a modern home are provided in a delightful period cottage. You have the whole of the cottage to yourself. Karen and Brian are on hand next door and very welcoming but there is no need to share any facilities. The kitchen is fully equipped but there are plenty of good eating places in Tenterden and Karen has supplied a comprehensive list of the restaurants and takeaways with a description of what they provide. One thing to be careful of is the staircase to the first floor. This is a spiral staircase with narrow width steps and requires care for anyone with limited mobility. The bedrooms and beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately we forgot to ask Karen where they had bought the bed. Parking in Tenterden is expensive and the local enforcement officers are very keen. Karen provides a parking season ticket for the car park at the rear of the cottage. A distinct bonus. We loved it so much we are booking for next year”"

"We really enjoyed our stay in Tenterden. The cottage is beautifully renovated, with a lot of original details remaining - but equipped with everything you would expect or could need for a pleasant stay (including some firewood for the stove :-)). The location is perfect, too - a lot of nice shops and places to eat within walking distance (some right across the street even) and a parking lot behind the house. Karen and Brian were very friendly and quick to reply to our messages. They were kind enough to pick us up from the bus stop when we arrived in the dark and even made sure there was something to eat in the kitchen, just in case we would arrive after the shops closed. All in all, we would very much recommend a stay in the cottage! "

"The cottage is in a perfect location both for the facilities and restaurants of the High Street and for many historic houses and gardens in the surrounding area. Exceptionally well equipped (very nice welcome basket supplied too). Spotlessly clean .The owner was charming /helpful and we were able to access the cottage early at her suggestion and indeed meet her. The car park permit is a most welcome and essential plus point.A comprehensive information book about the cottage/ emergency numbers etc and an assortment of tourist leaflets very useful. Owner has provided those extra little touches like fresh flowers in the rooms / welcome basket, spare toiletries which make for a delightful stay. "

"The owners of the property were lovely; very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The property was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and we had everything we needed. We were surprised at how well decorated and furnished it was too and the views over Romney Marsh were amazing ! Apart from the hot tub, the best bit was the shower; it was fabulous ! On our first evening, we had dinner at The Ferry Inn; a very quaint local pub and the food was delicious. The following day, we took a long walk along the canal to the beautiful village of Appledore where we had lunch in Miss Mollett's tearoom, which was a real treat. Our Saturday evening was spent in the hot tub "
