What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Tal Y Llyn To Rent.

"This characterful property looks fantastic with its old wooden beams and quirky decorations (old sewing machine, skis and saddles). It has three double bedrooms (two of which use curtains to provide privacy from the communal areas) a large open plan living room/kitchen dinner, a log fire and two large bathrooms. There is plenty of outdoor space including a patio area with great views of the countryside. It was great for kids - they loved the space and the mezzanine bedroom. It is probably best used in warmer weather. Unfortunately we arrived on an unseasonally cold and snowy Easter Monday and the central heating was broken... the log fire wasn’t able to keep the large open plan space warm by itself. The owner did provide extra blankets and a heater and had the boiler fixed by breakfast the next day. However even with the heating on and using the log fire the temperature didn’t reach 20 degrees C. The property could benefit from one or two extra radiators if used in cold weather. Also a toaster and a couple of mirrors would have improved the comfort/usability of the cottage. Hirros Hall Longhouse is well located and easy to find. It is a rural property a mile or two from small towns with shops etc. It is about 1 hour from the coast, Powis Castle and other local sites. The countryside nearby was lovely and good for walking."

"Following our first visit in 2015 we returned. Morgan (the dog) so loved his first holiday here we just had to return. We were once again really lucky with the weather - it was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed all the birds singing, and also Morgan's friend the squirrel returned!! Morgan loved playing in his paddock too. During the week the farmer came and mowed the meadow opposite the cottage for sillage which was fascinating to watch. This time I only banged my head 6 times!! We didn't see any bats this time though! Oh and I must say thank you to the owner for the yummy bara brith which is a lovely trademark welcome when staying here - we will be back again!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The owner is a lovely, friendly lady who does not impose on you, yet she is ready to help with anything you may need. The cottage is very clean and equipped with everything you need, including nice little touches such as tea trays in each bedroom supplied with tea, coffee, sugar, kettle and cups. The views from the cottage are beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in the garden listening to the birds and sheep in the fields. It is perfect for relaxing. I'm sure we will return in the future."

"Lovely views & friendly owner but cottage could do with a bit of attention to detail eg upgrade on “comfy” chairs that aren’t so comfy, several lightbulbs need replacing etc. Also £30 for logs felt a tad expensive so we chose not to take this offer up. Obviously a bonus for us that cottage is dog friendly but immediate garden is not secure for a larger dog & rest of cottage garden is not totally enclosed"

"A lovely cottage with an almost unbeatable view. It feels very remote, but is only minutes from Berriew, and the much larger towns of Welshpool & Newtown. A constant queue of birds using the bird table outside the window, pheasants in the fields and it was great to see the owners dogs. Mr Jones was very helpful, friendly and hospitable, without being intrusive. Highly recommended."
