Holiday Cottages with Swimming Pools / (cottages with pools) (UK holiday cottages with pool)

Nothing says luxury like your very own swimming pool and, with a wide choice of cottages with pools available, whether it’s something close to the seaside, off the beaten track or near to a big city, there’s a good chance you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for. With heated or unheated pools, full-size swimming pools and hot tubs, not all cottages are cosy little nooks!

Let’s be frank, sometimes the Atlantic or the North Sea can get a little chilly – part of its charm some would say – but if you’re not into frozen extremities, choosing UK holiday cottages with pool facilities gives you and your family the freedom to get your feet wet on your own terms, great for a relaxing after a long day of fun in the sun, or for tiring the kids out!

What do UK holiday cottages with pool facilities have to offer?

From staycations out in the countryside to historic holidays in great cities like Edinburgh or York, the UK is nothing if not diverse. Each part of the UK, as well as having its own accent, has its own character, offering a unique holiday experience. The great thing about cottages is that they’re all different, many former farmers or miner’s accommodation. But that doesn’t mean you have to go without those essential little luxuries – like your very own swimming pool!

There are lots of cottages in the UK with all modern conveniences, and some with their own swimming pools, offering an extra touch of indulgence. Maybe you’re planning a big get together along the South Coast, chasing the good weather and enjoying the beauty of the region? There’s nothing better for bringing people together than a swimming pool. If you’re planning a romantic break, add a splash of luxury with a stay in one of the UK’s cottages with pools, the perfect choice for honeymoons or spontaneous weekends away.

Cottages are ideal for those looking for a holiday without the hassle, self-catering, and usually a stunning and unique property with plenty of character. Throw in a swimming pool (and throw yourself into the swimming pool!) and you’ve got the ingredients of a holiday you and your loved ones will remember forever.

"The cottage was clean and comfortable. Our mattress was an orthopaedic memory topped mattress but we sank into the middle and the springs pinged and basically we didn’t sleep the entire time we were there. However, everyone is different with their mattress preferences so I can’t knock them for this, it just didn’t suit us. The kitchen was fully equipped, but had no baking trays (we couldn’t find any) for the oven which was a pain but we muddled through. Toaster, microwave, knives, bottle opener, dish washer etc all there. (Bring your own handwash and dishwasher tablets). The underfloor heating on the stone floor was lovely. Very nice modern touch and kept cold feet at bay. Staff on site were very friendly and efficient. Even gave us a bottle of white wine as a welcome gift on arrival which was a lovely touch and much appreciated! The swimming pool was clean, the kids loved it! Found it easy enough to put the cover on after use if your the last ones out at night. WiFi - you can request a 4G data box at £5 per 1GB. It’s cheaper and better to add on a data package to your phone plan as you can get a full reception and 4G coverage anyway.Nearby there’s plenty to do within a short drive - out of everything we did, Hamsterley Forest was the best. And Coppermine was the nicest for food. The shared swimming pool was a big hit, most of the time we had it to ourselves which was great. And we could watch the kids from the hot tub or the comfort of the sofa so win win! For the price we paid, we would definitely come here again, and get our friends to rent the cottage next door too!"

"The cottage is part of a group of self catering units and a small caravan site and is situated opposite Reception and a caravan storage area. As the warning notice says, this is a busy area. The house was clean, well equipped and warm despite winter hanging on. There was plenty of cutlery and crockery and a well equipped kitchen. The games room and swimming pool were useful assets in a week of mixed weather. These were never crowded. In Cayton there is an excellent traditional takeaway chip shop but the local pub no longer serves food. The nearest pub which does is opposite a huge caravan site at Cayton Bay and was always crowded and noisy and perhaps not suitable for children. Towards Seamer there is a huge Morrisons, a MacDonalds and an eat in / takeout chips chop. The area further afield is full of interest but beware of constant traffic in Scarborough if you want to travel in the Whitby direction detour west around the town."

"Fantastic cottage in a brilliant location, with high views looking out across the harbor and bay. There are narrow lanes leading to the cottage, so travel with care, but if you are after a peaceful and tranquil location, then look no further. Aside from a footpath running parallel to the cottage (we saw the odd person using it), there is no one else around to bother you. The town is a 15 minute walk downhill, where there is a small local shop and several eateries (we can recommend The Dovey Inn). The beach is large with ample parking. We were there just outside of the Welsh Easter holidays so it was fairly quiet, I suspect in full holiday season it would be very busy. The cottage is expensive for what it is, but relaxing in the hotub on an evening staring out over the coastline - well, it was worth every penny!"

"No 4 The S18889 is a lovely, small cottage. I know it is being re-decorated the week following our visit (the owner told me) and when it looks refreshed, I'm sure it will be great. The shower is a little small, but the water is hot and the bathroom was very clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and the welcome pack was much appreciated - always lovely to arrive somewhere where you can make a cup of tea with real milk :) The bed was very comfortable with decent bed linen. There is no DVD - this is mentioned in the description, so needs updating. But the TV is new and works well. The swimming pool is lovely and my husband really enjoyed the fishing. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing, peaceful location and holiday."

"lovely cottage and fabulous hosts, with everything we could need. Close to Ebbsfleet for a day trip to Brussels which was excellent, though I would recommend booking your tickets as far in advance as you can to get the best price, I paid £85 return for each of us, but have to say it was well worth it. To help getting around buy 24hr underground tickets when you get there as this lets you go all over the city. We would recommend getting the metro to Brosse and going to the Grand Place, include a visit to Hard Rock Café in the corner of the Place. Close to the A2 & M20 with so much to do in the area. Dover Castle is a definite recommend as are the war time tunnels, though be warned there is quite a bit of walking."
