"The area - scenery etc is absolutely beautiful. The pool on site was good, also food in restaurant/bar. Staff on site were very pleasant and helpful. However, although the lodge was comfortable and appropriate for our needs, we were a little disappointed in that it appeared a little tired, requiring some updating and TLC. We noted that the lodge was up for sale and this could have been the reason why the lodge had an unkempt feel about it. The carpet in the living room wasn't very clean and our pup spent a long time minesweeping bits off the carpet. We couldn't find the folder containing information/leaflets, which was mentioned; information re' local eating places would also have been helpful.Whilst there the owner contacted us and asked if we would remove ourselves for half an hour (at 2pm - middle of the day) on the Thursday to allow the Estate Agent to show a prospective buyer around. I appreciate the need for the owner to sell the lodge, however, we had to re-organise what we were doing to accommodate her request, which we were not entirely happy about. We had planned pool, back to lodge for late lunch and beach. This we did on the Friday instead, except the weather was deplorable, so no beach. Not a lot for 6 year olds to do in this area. The verandah is an absolute asset to this property by the way."

"Very stylish flat however not the high standard we have come to expect from a rural retreat. Lighting in the apartment was very poor. Given that natural light into this ground floor flat is minimal, lighting is extremely important at key areas including the kitchen, dining table and near wardrobes. Also it wasn't clear from the website that it was a ground floor apartment - could hear people moving around upstairs (although not they weren't noisy it wasn't expected so not relaxing). Also there was a musty smell: especially in the family bathroom (despite keeping door open for the whole of our 8 night stay); wardrobe in main bedroom (had to keep doors open for the whole of our stay); chest of drawers in main bedroom (couldn't use at all). Lastly not sure whether equipment is checked before new visitors arrive e.g.. toaster only toasts on one side of each piece of bread, blunt chopping knives, light bulb in cooker hood needs replacing. Attention and care that is usually there in a rural retreat was sadly missing...."

"We had a fab time at S23212. The location and scenery is nothing short of stunning. The house was nice and overall very comfortable. And the owner struck a good balance of being available and friendly, whilst giving us total privacy. Our main point of feedback is on equipment. The living areas could do with some updating. The TV was difficult to work and placed too high on the wall to watch comfortably. Having a bath proved impossible due to lack of flow in the hot water. There were no basics provided on our arrival (e.g. coffee, milk, bread, salt, washing up tablets for the dishwasher, washing powder for the washing machine were all missing - we had to go buy all of these things for ourselves). We even had to ask for towels on our arrival and were given one each. We have booked many cottages over the years through agency and airbnb and basic amenities have always been provided. Usually even the first batch of logs are provided. Given the price of S23212 we would have expected the same here."

"Overall great place to stay close to lots of great walks beaches within walking distance and golf courses Restaurant on site does lovely food staff friendly Swimming pool good for kids but not really a serious swimmers pool more a leisure pool forquick dip an additional charge for this facility but worth it This is a well equipped kitchen and bonus of a dishwasher was great ,slow cooker toaster and microwave as well as an oven Larger frying pan would be handy as it sleeps 8 Only criticism is that we had to move the sofa as dropped some coins and underneath was full of crumbs and Monopoly money very sticky like it hadn’t been cleaned for ages and the dinner mats were completely full of mildew so we had to use magazines under our plates to avoid marking the table And outside area on arrival looks tired and in need of painting and was full of weeds We did get to see lots of badgers and a fox during our stay which the kids loved"

"The house is set in beautiful mature grounds , with plenty of walks Being very well furnished , plenty of room for our family of eleven plus baby Very large impressive dining room & another very large sitting room Plus lower ground floor study & TV room , again very well furnished We remarked it was like going to stay with friends rather than a letting propertyThe big draw for our family was the large , very new looking indoor swimming pool , plus sauna , changing facilities etc , most impressive !Our family members ranged from eleven months to seventy six , there was something for us all to do We had excellent lunches at two local hotels , the local coffee , cake & light meals cafe , the Coo Shed was an education , great place Some of family even played golf at " Trump Towers" very posh golf club On the down side there are very steep spiral stairs , so if a member of your party is disabled you should be aware of this point"
