"3 hours after arriving at S56521 the gas supply ran out, and as there wasn't any gas we couldn't take a shower or do any cooking, so every night for 4 nights we had to boil kettles for 10 people. Our Grandchildren and foster child were looking forward to using the swimming pool, so using it was out of the question. The owner of the property initially blamed it on the gas supplier, but we later discovered the supplier was made bankrupt long before. When the gas delivery man arrived on Wednesday morning he informed me that as the previous gas supplier went bust there was no way of checking the gas level through them. Every year we treat our sons, their partners, Grandchildren and foster children to a holiday where we could all have quality time together, but unfortunately this holiday turned out to be very stressful for everyone. The owner was kind enough to treat us all for a meal at her restaurant, she also didn't charge us for using the pool when the heating came back on. As there were 10 of us we declined her offer to send us to a hotel every day to take a shower. We notified the owner that we found a soiled nappy between the mattress protector and bed sheet, and she said it was disgusting . In another room there were mouse droppings behind a cupboard, and when we pointed out that the bed sheets were soiled in one of the beds she immediately replaced them. In the children's upstairs bedroom the window glass was held together with sellotape. Prior to making our journey to S56521 we received a phone call from the owner to inform us that there was a leak in the upstairs shower, and not to use it. When we eventually had hot water we could only use 1 wet room and 1 bath between 10 people."

"We had a great time. The cottage is in the perfect location - two and a half hour drive from London, with only the dunes between us and the beach. The beach is fantastic, it goes on for miles and is nearly empty, with seals swimming past regularly and a nice cafe. The village has a couple of useful shops and a friendly pub that does food. The children loved the playground and swimming pool on site, and it was great to have them on the doorstep. The chalet is a good size, nicely decorated, with lots of games and dvds to entertain us. We arrived to a complementary bottle of wine, local eggs and bubble blowers for the children which were a generous touch. There were also beach chairs, mats and buckets and spades, everything we needed! The only trouble we had was with the ants. They get everywhere and we could have used a sugar bowl to stop them getting in there. A map of the area would have been useful too, even if it was framed on a wall we could have taken photos on our phones. Overall though these are small points. I'd recommend S45105 as a great place for a holiday."

"The cottage was very clean and quite well equipped with a lovely new bathroom. The owners were friendly. However we discovered late in the day that check in was strictly 4pm and check out 10am (even though there were only 3/8 properties occupied that weekend) so it worked out very expensive for what was a 2 and a bit days stay. We could have stayed 2 nights in a coastal hotel B and B for the same price. The complex is in need of some gentle modernisation and refurbishment after 18 years constant use - for example we took DVDs for the children in the evening but there was a rather old VHS video player. The swimming pool was a great bonus as the weather was sunny and warm but not sure how it would cope with 8 families as it was full with 2. All in all an enjoyable weekend break for our grandchildren. Thank goodness for the sunshine."

"We had a fantastic stay at S17132. It was our 1st time to have a holiday at Christmas being from Dublin we usually go there if we're not staying in London with my husbands family but the price of the flights was crazy. So instead of just staying in London decided to have a little holiday and we're so glad we did. S17132 didn't disappoint in was a real Home from Home every little thing was taking care of we all had a fantastic time. Views were stunning and the light house on the door step was lovely to see my boys loved it. The swimming pool and restaurant on site were another selling point being winter meant we didn't have to venture too far if the weather was bad. We loved S17132 and would highly recommend it and will definitely be back maybe I the summer next time to enjoy the balcony area."

"What a lovely place to spend the week. It was so peaceful without wifi and phone signal, my kids talked to each other, played all day every day in the pool and genuinely had a good time......while my hubby and I relaxed in the garden with our little dog. We found great places to eat and visit with kids and the dog and even used the BBQ one night....The idealistic spot is surrounded by woodland and old history with a church to visit and the lakes and rivers around are just beautifully kept,The games room got plenty of use as our kids remembered how to have fun with no connection. I would throughly recommend this hidden gem as a complete technology detox without being bored .... we all loved it and will be returning. The photos on site dont fully reflect its loveliness, it's much nicer."
