"There is NO lock on the entrance door so other people can wander in anytime. The electronic locks are on the inner doors. So when you need access to a bedroom from the very small lounge / kitchen / dining area you need to go through a corridor door into a communal corridor (which may have strangers in) to get to the bedrooms. (really weird) then unlock another door to get to the bedrooms. You are only provided with 1 key so only 1 person can use the bedrooms at a time unless going through the door together. These electronic doors are NOT secure as you can use a spoon handle to ease the latch back and open the door. Perhaps it would have been easier to use spoons instead of the keys provided. So this means none of your personal possessions are safe as anyone can use a spoon to open the locked doors because they have access to the communal corridor and the gap between the door and door jamb is too wide. To someone who has not been there or seen a plan of the apartment will probably not understand all this but I am explaining as best I can. The lounge only has lounge chairs for 3 people, dining chairs for 4 people, only 4 plates (1 is cracked) how can this be advertised for 5 people? The corridor doors in the whole building (which is very large) have heavy springs on them so they are banging from 6.30am till midnight every day as people in the block use them. The smoke alarm is too sensitive and goes off daily in the whole building at any time of day or night not just this apartment. There is parking for only 4 cars so you have to either walk a long way or park on the grass which the owners don’t like. There is no facility for household rubbish, you either dump it in the foyer or take a 5 minute walk to the main building. The idea of having a centre for disabled people is brilliant; the surrounding area is like a park which was lovely. It is just this apartment that is badly thought out and needs quite a few alterations to make it liveable. If you have not booked this apartment I suggest you don’t. Sorry, you will not be happy with the quirky setup especially if you have kids as strangers can wander in the communal corridor between the two parts of the apartment. Also make sure you supervise kids going through the main electronic entrance door to the whole building as our dog got her head caught in the door as it was closing and would not release her. VERY DANGEROUS."

"We stayed in Oak Apple cottage for a week in August 2016 with two children and grandparents. We had great weather which always helps but we all had a fabulous time. The owners were very helpful and very friendly and the on-site shop sells most essentials plus delicious fresh products from the farm. The cottage was much larger than other holiday lets we've stayed at, with its own BBQ and outside table and chairs, and the heated pool (lovely and warm) and kids play park were a huge bonus and were used every day by the kids. There is so much to do within 30 minutes travelling in any direction that we could come back several times and do something new each day. My son loved the fact it was a working farm and he could watch a variety of farm vehicles at work and see chickens roaming close by. However this does mean there can be noisy animals in the night so take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper! If it wasn't for a few nit picking details (like no clothes line/airer to dry swimming stuff on; dirty floors on arrival (discovered by us all having black feet after a few hours in the cottage); permanently warm/heated floors even in warm weather and bathroom door locks that didn't work) then I would have given 10 stars as its a really nice place and suited us well. We would definitely go back here!"

"We booked Valley View at short notice and needed somewhere in the Newton Abbot area that could accommodate a young family and dog. The location was great, Seale Hayne is a beautiful setting and within easy reach of the moor, coast and city of Exeter. The apartment was spacious, and is very well designed for guests with additional needs (lots of space for wheelchairs, mobility aids such as shower chair, loo raiser, bath hoist, electric bed and recliner etc). However it wasn't especially cosy and comfortable - the curtains were flimsy so the bedrooms were full of light as soon as the sun came up, the mattress in the master bedroom was uncomfortable (we could feel the springs) and the whole place needed a really good clean. The apartment is next door to the hydrotherapy pool, and there was a whiff of chlorine all week and the pump room for the pool can be heard. It has the potential to be a great place to stay but at the moment it is rather functional. This didn't matter too much as we were out and about all day and evening, but it isn't somewhere we would happily spend all day in or relax of evening in. The staff at Seale Hayne were lovely, and the Bistro was very handy for a quick meal or cooked breakfast."

"Extremely spacious rooms which ensured that the children could play and enjoy themselves while the adults had copious space. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped. There was enough crockery to cater several times over the maximum number of guests. The building itself was full of character with its quirky walls and floors. There was also good outside space in the garden with large table and chairs for when the weather was kind. The swimming pool was well appreciated by the children and unlike many pools was warm and did not take your breath away when taking the plunge. The children also enjoyed seeing the chickens either wandering around or in their large chicken pen. There is a childrens' play ground but it is fairly basic. The one thing we missed was adequate drying facilities for the washing when the weather did not allow you to use the outside drying lines. The hosts were very friendly and amenable. They provided nice little touches such as fresh flowers in the dining room, an initial batch of free eggs (which could then be purchased daily), and a batch of extremely tasty cakes on arrival."

"We were welcomed with big smiles from all the family and they couldn't do enough for us on arrival. The accommodation was fantastic, very modern and well equipped, right down to kitchen essentials and a welcoming box of gorgeous home made cup cakes and free range eggs courtesy of the farms chickens. Only slight negative was attention to bathroom cleanliness but definitely wasn't something to cause a fuss about. The on site pool was a great addition, clean and safe, other facilities in and around the site for all to use were very well maintained. Our dog had just as wonderful break as we did and the free roaming chickens were quite entertaining for him! Only down side was lack of public footpaths in the immediate vicinity, had to keep taking the dog out in the car. Maybe a games room of sorts would be an advantage at some stage but overall we had a fabulous break, would definitely recommend to friends and will be back sometime next year. Many thanks for making it such a lovely break away."
