"Located in a quiet village next to the Brecon Abergavenny Canal. This bungalow has 7 bedrooms along with several other rooms to accommodate a large family. There is also plenty of parking spaces along with good security of electric gates. There is a Tesco, Lidl and Waitrose supermarket in nearby Abergavenny town and a small shop in Govilon for your daily papers and bread. Tafarn a Bont is a friendly village pub serving food. The house has a modern kitchen with a dishwasher. The main attraction for kids were the swimming pool and hot tub. There was also a Man Cave next to the hot tub with a tv. Washroom towels and pool towels are provided. An ideal base for a large family to discover this beautiful part of Wales. I would recommend visiting Big Pit, Abergavenny Market and hiring a boat to experience the nearby canal. When we complained of a smell around the pool area, the owner immediately arranged for an engineer to sort out the problem fair play. There is a convenient foot path from the property to the village. Although it was a bit overgrown, it was still quite a handy short cut."

"We booked S21606 as it quoted the cottage was all on one level. Having a disabled and partially blind wife - this info was important to us. The cottage was in fact on several different levels. There is a huge step from the uneven uphill road to actually get into the cottage then more little steps inside which leads to different rooms. Not being able to see and not too good on her feet my wife did trip trying to get over these. There were covers covering the furniture. One was covered with bits and dog hair. Their was no heating on and the thermostat didn't work. We found out that it was because it was controlled by the owner and we had to ask him if he could put it on because being a rainy and cold may day it was freezing in the cottage. Our 6 year old soon got a chill and was unwell for most of our stay. The paths around the cottage and leading down to the farm are covered in potholes and very uneven. Not at all suitable for disabled people. My daughter did enjoy the pool and horse riding which cost £17.50 for half an hour. It could be a smashing little place if it was done up a little."

"We spent 3 nights in S50553 celebrating mine and my wife’s 50th Birthday, as soon as we walked in we knew we were in for a good time, the rooms were all good sizes comfortable and clean, we made good use of everything the kitchen was used to its max as one of our friends who loves to cook and had everything he needed to feed seventeen of us morning, noon and night. I don’t think the hot tub and pool was ever empty, and the younger members loved the man cave. There was plenty of instructions around the house to help you to have great stay, and plenty of pool towels for all the guests to use. We didn’t really leave the house only to stock up on some food items. The views from all over the house were breathtaking and I’ve got to say that we had a Birthday weekend that me and my wife will never forget. We had good contact with the owners who were very helpful and had our full bond refunded with no problems, we are hoping to return again next."

"The cottage was basic but comfortable . As we were non dog people I felt the carpets could have been cleaner ( the hover smelt of dogs) Whole cottage needs an update really as very tired, tiling etc needs attention. Although cheap rates compared to others it was a disappointment Unfortunately on day 1 we were without cold water from 6pm . We called the contact no but no reply. Same again on day 2. Day 3 we had no water. the owners returned and spoke to us am by banging on our window we were offered the cottage next door for water and showers. Heating was controlled by the owners. Luckily it was a warm week so we didn’t need extra heating early at night. I think if it had been my cottage with the water problems I would have been been more active and visible but realise that it was an usual problem. I just think if you are there and talking it totally eases suituations ."

"A lovely cottage and we had a nice holiday. We were disappointed that it was advertised as having a pub within a mile, which has obviously been closed for quite some time as it is all boarded up - the property details need to be updated on the website to reflect this. Also the property is advertised as having WiFi and there was no WiFi in the cottage - it was possible to stand outside (or hang out of the window) and connect to the main house WiFi, but it is incorrect to say the cottage has WiFi because this just isn’t the case. There is also little to no mobile reception, so WiFi really is essential!Otherwise, the cottage is very comfortable and the hot tub was a big bonus point."
