"Where do I start! Best place we have ever booked, arrived to the best greeting from staff, room was ready 3 and half hours early they allowed us to check in no problem! Beautiful lodge with hot tub! Open the front door of our lodge to cake and balloons which was absolutely amazing ! They took the time to read our reservation and noticed it was my birthday! So much attention to detail! Very clean and tidy ❤️ Site is absolutely beautiful can’t fault it at all its a shame the diner had shut down but it’s no issue for us as plenty of places to eat out! The snow was so pretty over the hills! The views are insane! It’s so peaceful and quiet here! Will 110% be returning to this park couldn’t ask for anymore thank you so much for the warm welcome kids absolutely love it to once our new baby arrives we will be back ! Thank you !!!!Took a week at Brunston Castle lodges by way of a time share swap deal. Going in November, the advantage is that the site (and roads) are quiet but, conversely, not all the local facilities are open. Although there were only two of us, we had a 3 bedroom lodge so there were acres of space. There is a standard additional charge for heating/ elec at £50 which I initially thought to be a bit steep but this allowed us, in the event of cold weather, to keep the heating going full time. The weather proved to be excellent - we even managed coffee outside on the veranda after returning from a walk so that constant heating was not a requirement. We were certainly never cold and we had to keep turning the heating down. The lodges are well-appointed with everything we needed but the kitchen is a little compact. Not sure I would have been comfortable with full occupancy(6). The site is well laid out with plenty of space between the lodges, with woods running away to the side of the site. Onsite reception/ staff were more than helpful and friendly, with a coffee bar, small bar, games room, large heated indoor pool and sauna. There isn't a great deal in Dailly (supermarket) but the adjacent golf clubhouse was a more than adequate source of meals for those nights when we weren't self-catering. Excellent fish and chips from a mobile van on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The local area proved to be very good for walking but I still can't get to grips with the Scottish open-access policy which is anything but open - locked gates, broken stiles etc. A trip up and down the coast is very good - sandy/ rocky beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay ( the weather certainly helped) and would recommend this site, although main season prices seem high. We were so impressed, we booked again with a huge discount on "Black Friday"!!Booked this as a last minute trade & have been pleasantly surprised how nice it is. The site is well laid out & the properties are a good size. The views are good & it is very quiet as their are no dogs allowed and the games room, swimming pool & reception are a short distance away from the properties. The downsides are that the property we had looks slightly dated, there aren't enough sockets in accessable areas & the hot water only half filled a bath. Still a nice place.Facilities were perfect. Lodge was clean & cosy. Only downside was that there were too few pieces of cutlery! Could have done with some extra knives & teaspoons for mealtimes. Otherwise great. Our holiday was fantastic and we can't wait to go back to Brunston Castle. The staff on the site were first class and so helpful. Internal site roads could do with some work to fill the holes and the site would benefit considerably from having a drinks licence. Overall, a really enjoyable holiday in a fantastic location. Would recommend to anyone.Leasure facilities excellent.Bit disappointed golf club restaurant closed to beginning of March."

"Check in was easy and reception staff always friendly. Very disappointed to read in a review a week before we went that WiFi wasn’t actually available in the lodge but only in the main reception. This is not made clear in the listings. It states there is a communal laundry area (on site, made clear), dishwasher (in lodge), TV with freeview (in lodge), DVD (in lodge) and then goes on to mention Nintendo wii, WiFi and a selection of books and dvds all following on from lodge facilities. These are in fact only available in the central area. Amenities in the central reception area are listed as pool, sauna, gym, pool table, table tennis and Nintendo wii with no mention of WiFi available here but in fact this is the only place you can get it. In my opinion this is deliberately misleading so that people will book. If the lodge was listed as not having WiFi it would have an impact on bookings in this day and age. The central reception area closes at 8.30pm so even if you wanted to use WiFi you would only be able to do so till 8.30! Again with 2 teenage sons this was unacceptable and I ended up having to purchase a dongle and my own data at a total cost of £123 - a considerable extra expense when I booked believing there was WiFi in the lodge! They were putting in internet cables while we were there so I think internet will be available shortly in the lodges. Location wise, it’s a very remote site. A car is essential and we’ve spent the week driving for hours to get around the local area (furthest we went was Edinburgh). We’ve racked up hundreds of miles so if you’re not keen on driving (or putting miles on the car) this place is not for you unless you plan on staying on the site. The pool, sauna and pool table were welcome additions to our stay and added an extra something that you wouldn’t get if booking a house somewhere."

"The location and area were spot on, the pool, staff and golf restaurant were to high standards. Unfortunately the lodge itself was filthy dirty, we had to wash everything we used first in the kitchen area as items still contained food!!!! The oven was filled with grease and put us off using it. The toilet in the main bathroom didn’t flush, we complained and was told someone would come and fix it, no one came! People had complained on trip advisor about 85 being dated, that wasn’t an issue for us, the filth that was in the property was our huge gripe throughout our stay. It’s a huge shame, if our property was clean we would definitely come back, unfortunately for us we won’t stay at Brunston castle again whilst visiting Ayrshire."
