What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Swimming Pools In Exeter To Rent.

"Overall we thought the cottage was good for a party of our size, 4 adults, but would be a bit on the small size for any more. The kitchen was very small & only suitable for 1 person to use at a time. The lounge area with dining table was just adequate but we were constantly having to move the dining chairs around just to get past to the lounge area etc, which proved to be a bit annoying. With 2 more adults, or children, this would be even more difficult. The TV was positioned on a high room wide mantel shelf over the electric room heater. At this height it was difficult to view for anyone sitting on the sofas close to the end wall. The best part were the bedrooms, very large & comfortable & well furnished with very large built-in clothes storage/wardrobes. Bathrooms are small but adequate. The showers were just ok but the water pressure was erratic, running hot & cold as other bathrooms & the kitchen taps were being used.Externally the front enclosed garden area was very good, especially for us with our 3 dogs. Which was the main reason for choosing this cottage. However we did have a problem here on the first night as the lawn had been roughly mown but with the grass clippings left on the lawn. This very quickly became a problem as our dogs, & us, as we cleaned up after them, were walking the grass clippings into the lounge which meant we were constantly having to sweep them up to try to prevent them being walked upstairs into the bedrooms & bathrooms. The next morning we knocked on the owners door to ask if these clippings could be raked up, I even said I would rake them myself if a rake could be provided. I spoke to a young girl who said her mother was still in bed. All that happened was a dustpan & brush, I had also asked for, was left outside the front door but the request itself was totally ignored. We had to endure this problem for the full weekend, there was nobody around to ask on both days. On the Monday we asked the owner again & were somewhat surprised at his manner as all he gave us were a list of his problems as to how busy he was & how his mower box needed welding. He then rather reluctantly said he would get his blower out to remove the clippings, which he did very roughly, leaving them piled against the side fence. This issue came very close to spoiling our whole week. In the same vein we also had to ask for the Games Room, as advertised as being available, to be open as it was full of old furniture & un-useable. The Games Room itself is very poor consisting of a dartboard & a very old, very dirty & rickity Pool table which I had to brush the dust & debris off to use. If the Pool table was in use the dartboard was too close to be safely used. On the Wednesday some new balls & cues suddenly appeared which did not help as the table was so warped it was impossible to have a proper game. I think it pushes the boundary to describe this wooden hut as a "Games Room".Although the swimming pool was advertised as being available & the weather was nice & sunny, we did not think it wise to asked for the pool cover to be removed. In summary, the Pros' are a good location, nice bedrooms & adequate facilities, whereas the Con's are a poor unprofessional attitude from the owners, not the "can do" attitude that successful businesses need to grow & thrive. Also the value for money is also poor, we paid more for this cottage in the low season as we have paid on the previous two years for high season. A work in progress is, I hope, a true description for this business."

"Excellent cottage for families-very large combined dining & living room and kitchen with really useful safe balcony looking out over large grassed back garden-the garden is perfect for children to play on whilst the adults sit watching them from the balcony.Excellent private hot tub (perfect for relaxing in after a hard days sightseeing) and bonus of shared fairly warm heated swimming pool and games room with pool table and dart board.Brilliant reasonably quiet location although traffic noise can be heard from nearby A30-this would not put us off from staying here again. We originally booked the more expensive Sundance cottage due to the "Tikki bar" area out back but really pleased we changed to Honey Pippin due to the large rear garden ideal for our 2 year old granddaughter to wear herself out in.Many thanks to Sheila and her staff for a wonderful stay!"

"I have never stayed in a more equipt cottage and we have done a LOT. 2 adults, 2 kids and a rather large dog. The Garden is large enough for a big dog and fully enclosed too. There is also a paddock which is well hedged in which our dog could run around. The pool was very welcome, its a suntrap there and there was NO WIND due to its placement. The kids really enjoyed the pool table, supervised Darts and Wendy House which are all about 10 meteres away from the gate. Washing machine was also used and worked well, there is also a rotary line for drying in the cottages garden. The owner is absolutely lovely. Incredibly helpful, we tried all her suggestions whilst we we there (2 weeks) and didnt regreat any. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for making us so welcome."

"The cottage was clean and welcoming, the family running the property were very pleasant. We had milk and tea/sugar provided so we could settle in with a cup of tea before unpacking. There is an enclosed small garden which is great for sitting in with the dogs. There is also a large open field for walking them in.I would suggest fencing off a small section of this just for dog walking. The last half mile of roads are narrow but easily navigable and once you are away from that it is a short drive to the A30 and you can get to anywhere quite quickly. We found this cottage a lovely place to spend an enjoyable week exploring the local area."

"Had the potential to be lovely, however the cottage was dirty and as it was a dog friendly cottage, upon arrival the floors were smelly and the garden was full of dog poo and overgrown. Furniture in main bedroom was fousty and and duvet was covered in dog hairs. Food on floor also. Swimming pool was tired where slabs needed cleaning. I had to empty the bins myself upon arrival from previous holidayers. Bathrooms tired also. Positives were nice bathroom towels and kitchen was well equipped. We left one day early due being disappointed and would have left immediately but the kids would have been gutted."
