"Waste of money and stressful, we left the property after the first night! This property is situated in the middle of approx five other properties and up to four dogs run loose at any one time. If this was included in the description like it should've been, I wouldn't have even booked it!!! We took our dog who is friendly with people, but can be grumpy with other dogs, especially when they're off the lead. When we arrived the owners dog was loose and came running up to us and wouldn't leave our car or the cottage, so we had to carry our dog into the cottage. I explained that our dog is not great with other dog's only to be told that two dog's live next door to the cottage and are loose all the time, then she said 'well I'm not sure how you're going to get on here this week then' NOT the response you would expect!!Later that evening we came back with fish and chips, the owner was cutting her grass and her dog was loose and ran up to the car again jumping up and wouldn't leave. I had get out whilst my husband stayed in the car with our dog and entice the other dog away, then my husband was able to get out of the car and carry our dog into the cottage. The owner of the cottage doesn't seem to work and is always in the garden/field in front of the cottage (feels like big brother). The neighbors house is almost within touching distance of the cottage and they were outside fixing their door until well into the evening. The following morning to our horror there were three loose dog's running around (not including the owners dog) and we had to wait until the dog's disappeared before leaving the cottage. As the purpose of our stay was to have relaxing short break we decide to leave and managed to find another cottage to stay in for the rest of the week. In fact the whole experience was very stressful and one I would not want to repeat.PS. The property is rather shabby and the sofa and cushions are awful and need replacing/washing."

"This was our second time at S17964 as we had enjoyed our stay before with our dogs. Again, a great welcome with some much appreciated milk, butter, and other items in the fridge (and some dog items also in the cupboard). The lodge is excellent for dogs as it has a completely enclosed garden. The interior is open plan with no door in the bedroom wall so a portable gate is advised to keep the dogs out. The bathroom door is patterned glass but a privacy screen is provided if required. Nearby Saxmundham has good shops (inc.Waitrose) and takeaways. Easy to reach from the A12, but the access driveway is VERY narrow with a tight bend (we went in a Ford Focus and previously, a Chevrolet HHR but do not advise anything larger). The location is quiet and the skies were clear- great for amateur astronomy. Excellent dog walking in Rendlesham Forest, Aldeburgh, Sizewell Beach, and locally along Kiln Lane. The TV has Freesat and a built-in DVD player. An excellent choice of holiday stay for couples, with or without dogs."

"S17974 is a clean, spacious house on a lovely little housing development 10-15 minutes' walk from the town centre, right next to a church.Enclosed garden is ideal if you have a dog. There are dog bowls and leads provided. Very good range of kitchen equipment, so great if you love cooking! Towels provided were very small, very thin, and scratchy. I would not provide these to guests staying in my home, let alone paying ones. (to be honest, I would not even dry my dog with them). There is no internet access, not even a DVD player, so S17974 would not be a good choice if you're staying more than a few days and the weather is not good, or if you have children. Toilet roll, kitchen roll, handwash, hairdryer provided which was very helpful. No Welcome Pack or general information provided, i.e. with regards to when the heating and hot water come on, no recycling instructions."

"This is the BEST ever dog-friendly lodge in which we have stayed. There are safe areas to walk dogs and bins are provided nearby. The garden is secure and away from traffic. Access to the lodge is down a short but narrow track, but did not cause too much of a problem for our American station wagon. Finding the property was easy, thanks to clear instructions from the owner, and with the A12 only a short distance away, it was easy to go anywhere, without having to negotiate miles of winding country lanes (Sutton Hoo is a must!). Saxmundham, 5 minutes away, has a Waitrose- brilliant in our books! On a clear night, the view of the sky is magnificent- no light pollution. In 10 minutes, we saw 3 meteors and 1 satellite. The welcome pack provided by the owners was much appreciated, and a credit to them. A very nice place for a couple, with or without dogs."

"We stayed here for a long weekend. We got a bit lost trying to find it but I rung the owner and she helped us with directions and greeted us with a bottle of wine. We had a welcome pack in the kitchen some muffins, eggs, butter and a pint of milk. The cottage had everything we needed but to be honest it does need a good clean. It was basic clean and does need a proper clean as there were cobwebs between our bed and the bedside cabinet. The toilet needed a good clean and the actual toilet lid didn't stay up either. The fridge door didn't have a shelf so there was nowhere to put a 4 pint of milk. The wardrobe was a bit strange it was a rail in the boiler/ cleaners cupboard. I. Think if the cleaning issues were sorted this would be a nice little cottage."
