"Unfortunately my friend and I were extremely disappointed with our break at the lodge. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon on a bitterly cold day. The lodge itself is well equipped and clean. Unfortunately we were unable to control the heating from inside the lodge itself as the owner controlled the heating from his house which was attached to the lodge. On the first night which was extremely cold I went to the owner next door to tell him we had no heating and we were absolutely freezing. Unfortunately there was no answer at the door but strangely enough the heating came on shortly afterwards for a few hours!!The following day the owners approached us as we were leaving and asked if everything was all right. When I told them about the heating the gentleman said it was on 24 hours and we could control it from the lodge. I can assure you this was not true and the control he showed us did not operate at all it was controlled from his own house!!!! Unfortunately because we were so cold we had decided to cut our stay short and come home the following day as I developed an eye problem as well. When we returned to the lodge that day The owner came out with an oil filled radiator and said we could use it if we were still cold. I cannot believe he actually done this as we would never contemplate using a radiator if the central heating was on. He also said he had turned the central heating up.We returned to the lodge at 3.30pm and timed when the heating was going on and off, The heating came on at 8.30pm and went off at 11pm. It came on the following day from 8am until 9am.Fortunately we were coming home on the Thursday anyway as we just couldn't tolerate the cold it was absolutely freezing and the owners were made aware of it on more than one occasion. So unfortunately our wee break turned into an extremely unpleasant experience, we were supposed to stay until the Saturday so it was an extremely expensive outlay for two nights stay. Very very disappointing."

"Pinclanity Mill splendid isolation and tranquility impressed as it did on our first visit last year. Once again the weather was good during the day and we were able to get out an appreciate the beauty of this relatively remote area. Warned that builders were on site before embaking upon the holiday twe found that they did not impinge upon it whatsoever, remining unobtrusive throughout the stay. Last year I thought the property would be spoilt by an extra dwelling on the site therfore, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the new dwelling blended in sympathetically with the original cottage. No one should be put off by the new dwelling especially when both properties may be let as a siggle entity, thus retaining the peaceful seclusion and isolated charm that currently exists. Incidentall getting to Pinclanty Mill cottage from P&O or Stena Ferries at Cairnryan should be included in the how to get there details. Leaving Ferry terminal proceed north on the A77 towards Ayr, proceed through Ballintrae for approximately one mile, and take B734 signposted Colmonel. Proceed on B734 to ’T’ junction with A714 just north of Pinwherry and turn left. Proceed north for approxiamtely one mile and take first right rejoining B734 signposted Barr. Take care turning off the A714 unto B734 as it imediately crosses the Stinchar River on a narrow humped bridge before ascending a steep hill with a blind hairpin bend on a single track road. The cottage is approxiamtely three miles along this road on the left had side, and clearly signposted Pinclanty Mill. April 2012."

"We had a lovely week at the cottage. It was lovely and clean, cosy modern interior and the open fire was great. The information when booking however is not clear about the distance to the farm "close" could be anything really. There is a road running 10ft from the back of the cottage which is used by heavy farm traffic from approximately 8am in October (this may be earlier in spring/summer) There is an electrified fence and fields of cows 10ft or less at points from the cottage. If you have pets or children with you you may find this an issue as there is no enclosed garden space. We had a problem with the water. We had no hot water for the majority of our stay. We contacted the owner who dispatched her husband to fix it on two separate occasions. He advised that he thought the problem had been resolved from the previous week but obviously not. The issue worsened and the water was discoloured and a very bad smell was coming from the kitchen sink area, this unfortunately was not resolved by the time we left. The owner's husband did attempt repairs very quickly after reporting them but the problems obviously need a qualified plumber to resolve. We have made the owner aware of these issues. This review is left without malice and intended only to be informative for any future guests to be aware before booking."

"WOW. What can I say?The cottage has everything you could possibly want and more.... The lovely thoughtful gifts of wine and eggs on our arrival was a really lovely idea. (Much appreciated)The beds are so comfortable (we didn`t want to get up). The whole cottage is clean and just like home from home.We met the owners and what lovely people they are... Friends for life!Poor cockerel has gone to a new home (not the cooking pot) although the owners have chickens and ducks, which out daughter loved feeding. It`s just so quiet and peaceful, which is what we was looking for.We found lot`s to do, walking on the beach with our dogs, Whiskey Experience Shop, Tea-Room, Lifeboat Centre, Trump Turnberry Golf Course and much more.Taking photographs of the beautiful area and the animals.Yes I didn`t get mobile phone signal but that`s part of being rural and not the fault of the owners.... (that`s your own provider)There is Wi-Fi and Sky TV if you need it.... If your looking for a quiet, get away from it all holiday then this is perfect.... Overlooking the fields with sheep in, ducks and just beautiful hills. We can`t wait to go back..... Thanks guys for welcoming us into your beautiful cottage, we had a fantastic time...."

"Absolutely amazing!Just wow!Beautiful lodge set in beautiful surroundings. The lodge had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with pans, utensils and crockery. The only thing it didn’t have was oven trays, but I had taken my own so this wasn’t and issue. The bathrooms were spotless. Both had an amazing power shower, and heated towel rails. Each bedroom had a wardrobe and drawers with more than enough storage for all your things. There was a large cupboard in the hall, with a maiden (clothes horse) iron and hoover. The pool was lovely, as was the sauna. We walked over the play area to the golf club, but we didn’t go inside. The coffee bar area does sell a limited selection of alcoholic drinks (it didn’t state that on the website) There was wine, bottled beer and I think gin and tonic in a can. There are no spirits on optics. This was a pleasant surprise. The bar area had a lovely fire, was cozy and overlooked the pool. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful! The lodges were only 20-30 mins away from Ayr which had a shopping centre. And on route to this was a Morrison’s. There was an Asda about 15 mins in the opposite direction. We will definitely be returning."
